Happy Anniversary Curt and Karen! :earsboy: :earsgirl: Smart move and a great place to celebrate - WDW!!!

I'm planning to be in chat tonite if all stays quiet on the homefront.

More distressing news yesterday - my son-in-laws father was rushed into the hospital and spent the day in ICU with pneumonia - his liver (he's been very sick for the last year) is failing. We're all hoping he can hang in there til the baby arrives.

Sandy - I think what Cheryl is talking about is the Spring Training games. Last year DVC bought out one of the luxury suites and had a special event down there. It was one of the things they asked us about on the Member Challenge for the cruise. You had to find someone who had gone to it. I think Todd (and maybe Cheryl too) were looking at doing it this year.

Boy, oh boy, I wouldn't call this the Sunshine State today!!! It has been raining like crazy here today. So much so, that we actually have water coming into our Family room. YIKES!!! :scared1: :scared1: Right now, we have the wet vac going, a little old pump that Chris used to use with his old waterbed and TONS of towels trying to keep the water out. We've only had this problem twice before. It only happens when we get LOTS of rain in a very short period of time. My pool has overflowed into my back yard and it's a HUGE mess!! Oh well, I guess that I'm glad that it happened now and not when we are gone.

That sounds cool. How does one get to go to it?

Get into the Spring Swing
Looking for the ultimate Spring Training experience at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex?

Spring Swing, an exclusive Disney Vacation Club Member event that proved to be a big "hit" with its 2005 debut, is returning for 2006!

This special event, which includes luxury-suite and private-terrace access, a ballpark lunch buffet and more, will take place during Braves games on March 12 against the St. Louis Cardinals and March 18 against the Cincinnati Reds.

The price is $54 for each adult and $42 for each child age 3-9.

For more details, or to book this experience, call (407) 938-3487. Phone lines will be open 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Eastern. Last year's event sold out quickly, so act fast!

This has probably already been posted, but maybe not. I just got off the phone to DCL and the Wonder will have just come out of drydock for our cruise!!! Yipee!!!

Also, is anyone else taking their kids out of school for this? My DS will be in the 6th grade and we figure we should do it while we still can. I know it won't be an option in high school.

I think it was discussed here or on a separate thread. I recall someone mentioing that the fitness club will be closed for enlargement. They will be setting up a temporary area for the fitness equipment.

Yes! DD will be a fourth grader. I hate taking her out for so long, but we all have our priorities! :lmao:

We are taking our DS out of school too. He will be in 6th grade also by the time we cruise!.

Our oldest DS will also be in 6th grade. Our younger son will be in 1st.

We're thinking this is the last school year trip for us. It's going to be tough to take Cameron out of junior high which starts here in 7th grade.

We are definately hoping DVC plans some events during more family travel times. Not that I really want to go during June, July or August, but given a choice of going during the summer or not doing a DVC event, I'm thinking I'd chose to go during the summers.

Our dd Deanna will be coming on this cruise, she will be in 7th grade. It was either this cruise or the 11 night in September. She said she didn't want to miss 2 weeks of school - I'm thinking it's 2 weeks of being away from the social aspect of school that she's most worried about missing :smooth:

We went in August a few years ago. It was broiling and soooo crowded. I swore never again.

Nice to know that I'm not the only "naughty" parent. :teeth:

It's neat to see that there will be some other boys Jack's age. I'm sure I'll need a chain saw to pry away from the kid's club and the computer games.

I'll be taking my DD out of school, but she's only in preschool, so it doesn't matter too much!!! :rotfl2:

:flower1: Good Morning Everyone! :flower1:
Sorry I missed chat last night. I fell asleep while watching tv last night, it's just been a long week. 3 out of the 5 days there has been an accident (or 2) on the main road I take to work so that make for a long morning. I live in Clifton Park and work in Albany well the traffic was so bad one morning I had to get to work by way of Schenectady! Anyone who is familiar with this area knows that's the LONG way to get to work! :scared1:

http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?a...=Clifton+Park,+ny&country=us&new=1&name=&qty=
If you look at this map you'll see what I mean. The red star is where I live. If you go staight down to were it says Albany that is pretty much where I work. Now if you look the the left and see Schenectady and a road marked I-90, that is the way I had to get to work. Clifton Park to Schenectady I-90, into Albany! :crazy2: :faint:

Good morning everyone! Stacy we missed you and Cindy in chat last night. Still we had a good group and Olaf joined us in chat for the first time.

Gail - I hope John got to his destination ok.

Good morning guys! Well, it hasn't been a good morning here! Madison woke up at 5am sick all over her bed. YUCK! We cleaned her up, and brought her back to bed with us. Well, you guessed it, she got sick again, this time in our bed. So, we put her in the bath and cleaned her up again. At this time, now it's 6:30am, so we just stay up. We're still cleaning up from yesterdays rain, so our family room is a mess. Then, she gets AGAIN!! I guess that she's got some stomach bug, but I'm just hoping that no one else gets it. And, I'm glad it's this week, and not next week!!!!!

It has to get better, right!?!?!??!?

Oh Amy! Poor Madison! Pixie dust headed your way that she feels better soon. You are right better this weekend then next.

Here's hoping your day gets better! Just think - in 10 days you'll be on CC!

Thanks Mary - she's not even able to keep water down at this point. We'll have to watch her closely, to make sure that she doesn't get too dehydrated. I hate this time of year with these viruses. Luckily, so far, Emily isn't sick, so we're trying to keep her away from Madison.
