OMG, that's a funny story, Cindy!!!
I have to relate to you about the concert ending with nothing. Last year, BNL was here for NYE also. We went to the concert and all was great. At midnight, we counted down, they sang Auld Lang Syne, and then one VERY somber song. Then, that was it, they left. No encore, nothing. I at least expected the evening to end with an upbeat tune. But sadly, NO!
Actually, had I thought of it a little earlier, I would have had a little party of our own for our friends with kids. We're thinking that we'll do it next year. But, instead of trying to get kids to stay up until midnight (since most of them are preschoolers), we're going to have a Noon Year's Eve party next year. All the celebration of NYE, but at noon for the kids!! Then, we'll have everyone just hang around until they want to leave. That way, everyone can still party, but be home to put their kids to sleep at a decent hour.
