My turn - while I have a moment and while the phone is not yet ringing this morning for "grandma's help" -

1) When was your first to WDW? 1973 - 2 days after I married John - we drove down to Florida from NJ for our one day honeymoon - crazy, yes, but I fell in love with that world that day!

2) When was your first DVC vacation? Sept 1992 - I went down for a Disneyana Convention and stayed at OKW which was The Disney Vacation Club then aka Conch Flats

3) What DVC perks have you used? AP and Valet Parking at BWV and discount dining at Planet Hollywood and Disney Store discount (when it was there) and Arribas discount

4) What is your DVC villa of choice: studio, one bedroom, two bedroom or grand villa? I love to stay in a One Bedroom whether there's 2 of us or 4 of us but I have a GV reserved for this coming December's trip - family reunion on my side!!!

5) Have you stayed at all the DVC locations? If not, where is the one location you haven't been to that you'd like to visit? No I have yet to stay at HH but I have visited the place while on a trip down to WDW.

1) When was your first to WDW? In 1988. We took our kids there. I had been to DL but never WDW

2) When was your first DVC vacation? In Dec of 2000. We went on a Cruise in May and bought into BWV when we returned.

4) What is your DVC villa of choice: studio, one bedroom, two bedroom or grand villa? We really enjoy 1 bedroom villas

5) Have you stayed at all the DVC locations? If not, where is the one location you haven't been to that you'd like to visit? YES we have stayed at and loved all of them!

Squid :firefight

1) When was your first to WDW? Summer of '82. I'd just graduated high school and was visiting a friend in New Orleans. She convinced me to go with her and her parents on their vacation. Timing of the trip posed a problem for me though, since I had to get home to register for my first semester of college. I managed to talk my sister into doing it for me so I could spend hours in a small car listening to my friend and her father argue almost constantly. I have no idea where we stayed but do remember also visiting Wet 'n Wild and sitting through some Time Share presentation.

2) When was your first DVC vacation? October 2000. David proposed to me on that trip.

3) What DVC perks have you used? Dining discounts, Store discounts, Valet at BCV, Keys to the Kingdom discount

4) What is your DVC villa of choice: studio, one bedroom, two bedroom or grand villa? Definitely one bedroom. I love having the washer/dryer. It sure came in handy last trip, when Ian got sick our last day. I must have done 4-5 loads of laundry in our last 24 hours there.

5) Have you stayed at all the DVC locations? If not, where is the one location you haven't been to that you'd like to visit? No. We've stayed at all WDW property resorts though. One of these days maybe we'll hit one of the beaches.

Can I play too? :goodvibes

1) When was your first to WDW? My first what? :rotfl: 1975 with a buddy of mine. My mistake was going with someone who'd been there before. We skipped a lot of stuff I would have liked to have seen, but didn't know better.

2) When was your first DVC vacation? 1996 at Hilton Head, only two months after joining DVC.

3) What DVC perks have you used? Various tour discounts, TDS discount, Fantasia Gardens, BWV valet parking, restaurant discounts.

4) What is your DVC villa of choice: studio, one bedroom, two bedroom or grand villa? One bedroom for sure. Just right for a fmaily of five.

5) Have you stayed at all the DVC locations? If not, where is the one location you haven't been to that you'd like to visit? Have only stayed at OKW, BWV and HH. Plan to stay at BCV after the cruise. I'd like to try Vero Beach one day.

Here's mine:
1) When was your first to WDW? 1976. Mom & Dad used to drive us down EVERY spring break to Fla where a work buddy of Dad's had a timeshare in Cocoa Beach that has discount rooms. They still go down there for a whole week by themselves on the beach. We'd go over for a day or two at WDW and spend the rest of the week at CB, I was bored out of my mind once we left WDW and looked forward to home by the end of that week.

To save time, I'm just gonna quote and maybe throw a comment or two (in green) out there..

2) When was your first DVC vacation? December 2000 we stayed in a one bedroom at our BWV home and got a Boardwalk view! It was a great trip and just that one stay let us know that buying into DVC was the right choice for us.

It also helped we probably had the BEST room and view availble the first time to really get us hooked, wasn't just ANY boardwalk view, was not far from the elevators up high to where you could see the Epcot show every night fully from the balcony, just awesome!

3) What DVC perks have you used? We have used the AP discount, the free valet at BWV, and the DVC discount on the Segway tour in Epcot.

4) What is your DVC villa of choice: studio, one bedroom, two bedroom or grand villa? Give me a one bedroom! I love the room, the jacuzzi tub, the full kitchen and the washer dryer. We'll stay in a studio from time to time (and will be in June for the 2 nights after our cruise) but we prefer a one bedroom (and that's what we have booked for before and after the DVC cruise).

We've done studios and honestly will ONLY do them now when we're not staying very long and just need to stretch the points. 1 BR ALL THE WAY!

5) Have you stayed at all the DVC locations? If not, where is the one location you haven't been to that you'd like to visit? We've stayed everywhere except SSR and HH. Of those two I would love to try Hilton Head - especially after the wonderful reports Cindy has given us.

We loved Vero for the too short stay we had there the last time; I'd like to see HH too as it's more.. 'in the town' so to say.

3) What DVC perks have you used?Disney Store discount, AP discount, pool hopping, valet parking, dining discounts

4) What is your DVC villa of choice: studio, one bedroom, two bedroom or grand villa? We prefer to do a one bedroom but have stayed in a studio and 2 bedroom (no grand villa for us)

5) Have you stayed at all the DVC locations? If not, where is the one location you haven't been to that you'd like to visit?Have stayed at OKW, BWV, BCV, & VB. 1) When was your first visit to WDW? September 1989. DH was stationed in Fayetteville, NC and we thought we would drive down for Labor Day Weekend. We were very young and did a whirl wind tour of WDW and back in 3 or 4 days!
2) When was your first DVC vacation? July 2003. We reserved a 2 bedroom @ HHI. I had no idea HOW lucky I was to get HHI in the summer @ the 7 month window.
3) What DVC perks have you used? Store and entertainment discounts. AP discount. Booking dining reservation and Grand Gathering reservations through DVC MS. We have used points to stay @ DL hotels, cruise and on Friday we get to use one of the Concierge options.
4) What is your DVC villa of choice: studio, one bedroom, two bedroom or grand villa? Just for the family I like the 1 bedroom. We have stayed in ALL of the different types of villas and I like the 1 bedroom the BEST!
5) Have you stayed at all the DVC locations? If not, where is the one location you haven't been to that you'd like to visit? We have not stayed at VWL (hope to change this Decembers ressie @ 7 month window). We have not stayed @ Vero. I hope to experience them all some day!

 Hope you are feeling better soon!

Cindy hope you're feeling better soon! pixiedust: We've got a trip to take in 2 weeks! :moped:

My 19 yo dd actually went to the doctor today, other than for required childhood shots and sports physicals the last time she's been to the doctors for being sick was when she was 18 months old. Poor thing, she has strep and mono. The size of her neck is unbelievable. With 4 kids and three of them college age, this is the first time any of them has ever had strep throat. We've been very lucky with that, of course she isn't too thrilled having it now.

I know I don't post much but I do read everything! Here are my answers to GTKYKFC--

1) When was your first visit to WDW? My husband made reservations back in October 1979. I really did not want to go. I was expecting my first baby. The day that we left BDL, they had a tornado very close to the airport (BDL).

2) When was your first DVC vacation? February 1998. This was our last Disney vacation as a family since my daughter (the one I was pregnant with on our first trip) was graduating from high school and off to college. Again, that February at Disney on our last night, they had the worst tornadoes. There was quite a bit of damage close to Disney.

3) What DVC perks have you used? The AP discount and the Disney Dining Discount card. Saved a lot with both!

4) What is your DVC villa of choice: studio, one bedroom, two bedroom or grand villa? Definitely the one bedroom. I love the kitchen and washer and dryer. We have stayed in a studio to save points and when we bring my sister-in-law we need a two bedroom. But the one bedroom is definitely our DVC villa of choice.

5) Have you stayed at all the DVC locations? If not, where is the one location you haven't been to that you'd like to visit? We have stayed at BWV, BCV, and OKW. My son tells me that we have to stay at the VWL so I guess that is where we would like to try sometime. Except we usually go down for events at EPCOT so that is where we like to stay.

Member Gallery UpdateI have an update to the member gallery. Jennifer (Eeyore77) send me her info a week or so ago but just got around to putting it up on the site. Sorry for the delay.

My turn!!

1) When was your first visit to WDW?1986. We stayed at The Disney Inn (now Shades of Green.)

2) When was your first DVC vacation? 2002. Too bad they didn't have Grand Gatherings then, because we would have qualified! Our party included me, DH, all 3 DD's, 2 boyfriends (now sons-in-law) and one friend for our youngest DD. 8 people in a 2 bedroom at VWL and BWV.....yes it can be done!!

3) What DVC perks have you used?TDS, Keys to the Kingdom tour, used points to stay at AKL, valet parking, various dining discounts, massage at VWL. We will be using the AP discount on our trip later this month.

4) What is your DVC villa of choice: studio, one bedroom, two bedroom or grand villa? We usually get a 2 BR because most of the time we have another couple with us and it's nice for everyone to have a real bed to sleep in, plus the privacy of your own bedroom. We're going to be in a studio this next trip. It's just going to be DH and me and we had to save points for the cruise!

5) Have you stayed at all the DVC locations? If not, where is the one location you haven't been to that you'd like to visit?DH and I have stayed at VWL (our favorite), BWV, and BCV. DD and I stayed at SSR. We have not stayed at OKW, VB, or HH. I really want to try OKW the night before the cruise, so hopefully I can switch at 7 months. Again, after Cindy's glowing reports about HH, I'd like to try that too.

Feel better soon Cindy! Wish I could take you some chicken soup! :wizard:

Sure hope you're feeling better soon Cindy - take some echinacea w/goldenseal and hopefully it will help you feel better quicker.
I take it everyday since I was a volunteer in the school system a few years ago and it helped me deter all the lovely illnesses the kids like to share!

We have snow! I can't believe it! We had one other day of snow this year December 19th. We hardly ever get snow. Schools are started 2 hours late! :cool1: DD is going to be so surprised (after she sleeps in today :thumbsup2 ). I was just going to clean house, wash clothes, bath the dog and start packing for our little weekend get away. I better check the California weather! :lmao:

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Oh Cindy, I sure hope you're feeling better soon!!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
