Short answer:
Upload the pic to a website somewhere, and then put tags around the picture URL. See [url]http://disboards.com/misc.php?action=bbcode#buttons[/url]

The DIS has a place to upload photos, but it is currently broken. Other people use [url]http://www.imagestation.com/[/url]

I loaned some space to Lynda on one of my websites for the pic.

More info can be found on the Technical Forum.

Lynda~ Ca$h is a hardworking dog & a faithful companion. It'll be fun to see him on the ship! My sister's mobility issues are more stairs oriented. Doesn't sound like this is a viable solution for her. It does sound like Ca$h is a huge help to you!

I hope you didn't take any offense to my question, as I was just curious how his presence is accomodated in travel settings, where animals are not usually found.

I asked as I know 2 people who would be greatly affected if they were booked on our cruise. I have a neighbor who's DD suffered extreme trauma after being viciously attacked by a dog when she was a toddler. She gets understandably upset when she is around any dog. If this poor kid was on our cruise, it would be pure torture for her for 2 weeks... I was talking to her Mom at the bus stop & mentioned a passenger with a service dog was going to be on our voyage & she said she never would have thought of that... She said she'll be sure to inquire if they book a cruise again about service dogs onboard so they are aware. They probably would book a different week if that was the case to avoid the situation. They took a DCL 7 day 2 years ago & the bomb sniffing dog posed a big problem for her DD in the terminal. She freaked in line when she saw the dog, as they were not expecting one... A DCL CM took them out of line & boarded them via a different entrance to avoid the dog... She said they call airports, etc.. to see if they use dogs as part of security before they travel now... She thanked me for making her aware of the service dog issue on cruises. She never thought of it! This is an extreme case, mind you... As far as allergies are concerned, one of my BIL's are quite severe to dogs- life threatening... I would hope DCL is mindful of passengers like this & goes the distance to clean the room differently if it was inhabited by a service dog for a week. It is a good question to ask for those that have severe allergies to dogs! Thanks for answering my questions!

Jindy~ I agree we have a sleepy thread right now. I'm used to my buddy Rae from the 4/17 cruise. She makes a thread lively! I'm sure as things get closer, we will be a lively group. As Robin said, many in our group have a cruise, or two planned before this one- lucky! The return repo cruise has a bunch of DISers so it's been lively since the get go. Many of my fellow 4/17 cruisers on are on that voyage & they are fun people! I wish we could do both trips!

Seaulater Linda ~ Have a great weekend! We are doing yard work all weekend! Yuk! But it will be nice once we're done...

RickW - thanks for posting IMG instructions. Maybe I'll venture to post one eventually...

Deck 6 is getting crowded! We'll try to keep the noise down on Deck 7 for you guys! But no promises! LOL!!

Kim,
Scroll up to the very top of this page and click on the oval shaped button that says "USER CP" (control panel). Once you are there, click on "PRIVATE MESSAGES" and check your inbox. If you go into your "OPTIONS" while at the control panel, you can choose to be notified via email when you have private messages. That's what I do, otherwise I'd never know!!! ;)

Do you all realize that a year from now the cruise will be OVER??

I figure that one of two things will happen on that day. I will either have had enough and be ready to leave (not likely), or I will suffer from severe culture shock as I reenter the "real world".

"What do you mean we have to cook?"

"How come the bed is not made?"

"Hey, someone forgot to put chocolates on my pillow!"

"Mickey didn't call to wake me up this morning!"

"Hey honey? This is only a salad and spaghetti. Where is the appetizer and the dessert?"

"Here, just put it on my KTTW card . . . What do you mean you don't take it? It's the Key to the World!"

:D

Well we are Going to NY. In the Morning...

We are going to See a Show on Broadway ANY Guess ???

Disney's Beauty and the Beast... Is the Correct anwser...

We do not See Lion King until August...

had last couple of days off and got ...

The hankering to go some were and do something ....

So I started to explore... look at the schedules fr the Broadway shows in New York and Knowing that Jen had Always wanted to see this show I choose this one...

So then I logged on to Ticket master and hit search for tickets

And 2 Front Row tickets Appearred before my Eyes with out delay I purchased them.... It is not every day that happens...
on Ticket master... ok it is Row B but there is no row A orch.. section...

Then after looking at rooms on expedia I went over to Priceline bid $100.00 for a 4 star hotel in theatre district.... Offer excepted

We are now at the Hilton Towers on 6th ave...

Bus leaves Boston every hour on the hour To NY, From Chinatown to Chinatown Price $10.00 each way... takes 4 1/2 hours

Not sure I would like that,, I got round trip Air on Delta...
In stead... Now in 1 hour we are there... and then home...
much better than bus ride....

So we go to party this afternoon and Ealry Am we get on the plane, do some stuff .. Go to show have dinner and ,Wake up Monday do some stuff and in the After noon We fly home....

Very excited ... Any Dinner Suggestions

thanks Moocow35

We will have a great Time Im Sure , have not heard from Sueellen From Dreams as to who the captain is have spoken to Her on several other matters I will Ask her what She found out as to the Question we asked her to find out if She could . ?

Peter

moocow35 . . . We saw Allegria in Atlanta this spring. What a great show! But, then again, ALL the Cirque Du Soleil shows are wonderful. We took the kids this time and they LOVED it! It was so hard to explain to a 6 year old that this was a circus, but not really a circus. They loves show so this was so much better!

Peter ~ Our favorite is Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on 51st & 7th. Call for a ressie when you get into town. It's a bit pricey, but worth it. Great atmosphere! Just down from Hilton Towers, which is on 56th if I'm not mistaken.

If you want to stay around Times Square area for dinner Bubba Gumps is surprisingly good. Fun to sit by the window & watch the Toys R us & ABC marquees change constantly. Carmine's is the best - family style italian. A ressie is necessary, or long waits on line... The food is worth it. Don't bother with Mars 2002- tourist trap- food bad. The Stardust Diner on 54th & 7th is good - short waits & singing waiters make it fun- not expensive.

The Lion King is awesome! We saw it end of March, waited 6 months for mid orchestra aisle seats. You don't want front row for Lion King, as you miss alot of what is going on. It's awesome. Front row for B & B will be good. Lion King is an experience though....

We go to the city once every other month. Like Robin, we are an hour away by train. We have tickets to Wicked in a few weeks.

Have a great time. You are never too old to ride the Toys R Us Ferris Wheel in Times Square! Have drinks at the W- Lobby Bar is on 7, at the corner of 44th- very Sex & the City- Martini Bar up there is fun! The Whiskey down below is one of the busiest night spots in NYC. Crowded, talky, but fun.

Robin~ I love Cirque Du Soleil. Saw Valekai & La Nouba. Both were great.

Have a fun weekend guys!

Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a great weekend so far. When we booked our cruise with Donna a couple of weeks ago aboard the Magic Western, we were told the captain will be Captain Tom, which was our captain on that cruise. She said he has been through the canal 100 times or so. We met him during the captain signing and saw him jus walking around the ship several times. Very nice!

Has anyone heard anything about when we would hear about excursions or any other details?

I'm dieing for details!

I grew up right outside NYC, we use to go the Jekyll and Hyde on Avenue of the Americas all the time and I always loved it and had great food.
The best palce to go is down near Little Italy called 8 mile creek. It's the only Aussie eatery in the states, and I mean really Aussie. The food and service were divine
