NYC is the most amazing city I have ever been too, and I've been to my fair share. The life that it exudes is phenomenal. I'm so happy you had a good time Peter, now if I could just change your baseball team!

Hi happyrebster! Welcome aboard!!! How many in your party?

Hi Peter!!! Glad you guys had a great time in NY!!! I love NY and can't wait to go back!!!!

My friend will be arriving from NY today. He's staying with me a few days while he goes to a couple of Prince concerts here in San Jose. It's funny - when he comes out here he gets to drive, which I think he enjoys. When I go there I look forward to NOT driving!!!

I'm going to see Prince on Wednesday!!

JinD: There will likely just be two of us -- my husband and myself.

Robin: Thanks for the welcome!

Today I sewed all day. DD's prom dress was way too long, and a little big in the sides. 3 layers of hems later, it is done!

Jindy, I love the new picture in your signature!

Robin:sunny:

Robin~ I sewed all day today too! No prom dresses yet, but recital costumes, 8 of them- all needed something altered... Layers & layers... Between the yard work, sewing and cleaning out the office, we need a holiday from our holiday weekend.... So how was the Cirque show? As good as Varekai?

Peter~ Glad you had a great trip! You had great weather! Bubba Gump's is not bad! Did you guys get a window table? Between the Orbit gum animated billboard & the news at ABC & the Van Helsing flashing billboard at Toys R us, we were on Media overload by the end of the meal recently, but that's Time Square... Run Forrest Run! The Carnegie Deli is the best! Remember that scene from "Harry Met Sally" - that was in the Carnegie, although given the size of the Corn Beef & Roast Beef sandwiches there, perhaps "carnage" is better! :)

Jindy~ I've seen the Playwright Tavern when I've been down there, wondered how the food was. Maybe we'll try it next time. Your sig pic is too cute!

Welcome happyrebster!

Hey, I currently live in NYC! I missed checking up with this thread for the past few days, so I missed out on giving recommendations. If anyone ever needs city advice again, just holler!

And Playwright's Tavern is actually my favorite post-theatre bar in the TS area (the one on 8th Ave) because it's away from the craziness of the main theatre district and they've got a bunch of large, round, secluded booths that make for great late-night hanging out with a bunch of friends. Did actually eat there once - thought the food was ok, but a little overpriced. There a better places to eat in the area and cheaper ones, too. Most of the food around TS is overpriced and touristy. There are lots of smaller, cheaper places if you go over to 9th ave. And there are some very nice restaurants in the area, too. One of my favs is Mario Batali's Esca (I think it's 43/44 & 9th) - their crudo (Italian sashimi) is an other-worldly experience :)

Hi Robin! Hi Linda! :wave2: I added the pic to my signature here at home. But there is something off with either my monitor or my scanner - so I truly won't know what it looks like till I see it at work tomorrow. I think I may have tweaked it too much and I wouldn't be surprised if it's all washed out..

By the way, I don't know how to sew. I'm so terrible I'm afraid to sew DDs Brownie patches onto her vest. :(

90 % of the reason I drove down to Monterey on Saturday was to eat at Bubba Gump's! I've been craving the coconut shrimp for a long time now. I figured I might as well do it this weekend as I'm starting a new workout routine and "no more bad food" habit on Tuesday.

We'll see how long it lasts...

Hi Happyrebster! Glad to see some new cruisers added to our group.

Peter, wasn't yesterday in the city the most gorgeous day ever? I remember last year when we went to Cirque it was hot and humid. Yesterday was picture perfect! Glad you both had a good time.

Robin:sunny:

Hmmm....guess I should have planned a weekend in NYC instead of Vail! It was cold and even snowed! Can you believe it???? I guess I should be used to the weather only living in CO most of my life except for a couple of years in CA to go to college. I love NYC and I am glad that you had a perfect weekend~Peter and Jen! I have a very good friend who lives there and he is always showing me the wonderful things about living in NYC! It is so unique and 'alive'!

Robin and Linda~I envy you both being able to sew! I needed a new dress hemmed for our upcoming trip and I took it to be altered and it is going to cost me $16 just to have a simple dress hemmed! No layers just a simple knit dress! My ex mother-law gave me a sewing machine once...think she was trying to tell me something? Well, I never was able to master the art of sewing so I just recently gave it to my sister.

Better get to work! Have a wonderful day everyone! It is a short work week...yea! I am having a hard time getting motivated to work because I just want to be in WDW and on the Wonder now!

Vicki

Happy Tuesday everyone!

We are back from our little mini vacation to Lake Powell. About 90 degrees all weekend. Skiied, wakeboarded, tubed, and just had a dang good time with another family that our DD dances with their son. There were 10 of us. Had to rough it....the other family has a motorhome. So we threw all the kids out at night into the tent and us 4 grownups lived in luxury! It was great. We left our boat at Lake Powell for the summer in dry storage right off the lake. Hopefully, we will get down there alot this summer, but we just have so much going on with the DD and her singing/dancing/camp etc.

Peter..am so glad you enjoyed Beauty and the Beast. We sat center fourth row. Did you figure out how the Beast turns into the prince in midair at the end?

We also love Bubba Gumps! Never been to the one in NYC, but we go to the one every single year in Maui when we go stay at our condo at the Marriott there. I love the coconut shrimp!

Anyway, lots of work to do. Welcome to all our new cruisers. It is so fun to see the group growing.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Linda

We did not figure that out ?? seaulater

Just one of lifes little mystery's I guess

if u know u could tell us??

Thanks
Peter

No, I haven't figured it out yet either. I have seen Beauty and the Beast 6 different times and I still haven't figured it out. I thought maybe you might have some insight that I didn't see. Oh well, I am sure someone out there knows the secret!

HERE is some news , I read somewhere that Disney has transfers from the ship to the Disneyland Resorts and I believe the one way price is $25.00 per person ..

I think that would work for us ....
As we are going to try to stay at one of them ...

Maybe we will end up across the street ..

But The GC sure would be nice..

I'm with you on that 'hope'! We cruise on June 13th. We were on the Magic right after Halloween one year and there was a hurricane and we were just on the edge of it. The wind and waves were unbelievable! I tried to video the waves from the deck with out much luck. We were not able to go to Castaway Cay so I am hoping we get to go this time!
