So, I went to my local forest preserve to walk today...I saw lots of mallard ducks, some other ducks with black heads, hawks, cranes and lots of robins AND some of Elaine's friends who didn't want to move off of the path but did after I hissed back at them
and I saw TWO COYOTES!!! Made me a little nervous at first...they were a few hundred yards off. One to my right and one to my left. The one on the right was limping and try and catch birds- this one made me nervous because it was obviously looking for food and either injured or born with hip dysplasia, but he looked at me for one second and then kept going after the birds. The one of the left kept on looking at me and then the other coyote- I was doing the same thing. We would look at each other and then look at the other coyote. Made me nervous, but not too bad. Growing up in Utah, I have seen many coyotes, wolves, bob cat, etc....usually if you give them their space they will give you yours. Still, I would have loved to have been wearing a heart monitor during the time while I was trying to assess the situation.
I felt my body kick into fight or flight mode- then I calmed down and kept on walking.
So, Scott what was my black headed duck?
