I just could not take the waiting anymore ( type A minus personality took over).... so last night I made a reservation for this sailing. Cat 5 guaranteed. Could not miss this trip. Will see what stateroom we get. I will be calling DVC on the 14th of June to see if we can do this on points then cancel the cash res. If not we are going anyway.

Also, FYI, we spent last week in Curacao. Nice Island, cruise terminal is located very close to the Sea Aquarium, floating bridge, well known for it’s shopping. I was offered a Rolex for $75.00.


Only spent a little time in Willemstad, Punda and Otrabanda, rest of the time was spent diving on the west side of the island. Great diving. Sea Aquarium seemed to have a lot to offer.

Don't count on me for shopping info.

It will be great to see many a past fellow cruiser and meet some new folks.

I could not pass on a first of it's kind cruise.

No thought on the return. one is enough.

Cash is to kewl, a word of warning do not try to keep up with he and Linda , man can they move out. I even run and walk a bunch every day and they are a force to be reckoned with. Just say tail lights and the crowds parting in Nassau.

Now much studying to be done on the canal etc. gotta get our info onto the site for this cruise. That's next.

Welcome Scott! Good luck on the DVC points. We did that for DH and myself for the 10 day Christmas Cruise this year. Did the same thing you are doing. Booked the cash price and then on the first morning for DVC called DVC and rebooked with DVC points. DCL put me in same stateroom and then I had to turn around and call DCL to cancel the first ressie.

Good thing we can hop to it when we need to, after what we escaped from in Nassau.....
I think I'm going to be spending a lot more time aboard ship on the next two cruises...It appears that the excursions are not accessible to limpers, scooters, or service dogs and the ports of call have all the accessibility of a mine field. The chorus of horns chasing Cash and I down the street in Nassau when we got trapped there by the lack of curb cuts was a tourist attraction in itself....Luckily we didn't end up as Bahamian road kill and Cash did manage to find his heart's desire...a tree.....

We will have to post live and tell them about all the free stuff we get that they won't for the "FIRST" Disney 14 day cruise from FL to CA!!!! We could always charge them an arm and a leg and fax them the daily navigators from the ship. (As if DCL doesn't do that already)

Thanks to Jeff, we are just better organized! The nice ones (which are the majority) over there are very impressed with his web skills- pictures, deck maps... wimps... I think NOT!

We may be a quieter bunch ( for now... ), but don't underestimate our creativity & ability to have fun!
When we get more info DCL about the INAUGURAL cruise plans they have in store for us- watch out! As Jeff said- plenty of time to plan... As Peter said ~ We are DCL Royalty. It has it's responsibilities... We are just acting with decorum and grace... LOL!!!

Here's the message I'm sending over there- let's see how creative they are... Are they up to the challenge? : Let's see LOL!

Yes, you are in trouble! Keeping in mind that we are DCL royalty being the FIRST Panama Canal cruisers, you have offended our group greatly by calling us wimps... If you want us to share all the great info you want during and after our cruise, you'll need to start sending virtual e-presents over to our thread to make up for your very big "faux pas". Oh yes, and you need to beg for forgiveness and ask for a royal pardon from the members of our group... None of this thimble size wine glass stuff.... We want BIG presents!. Maybe your nice fellow cruisers can help you atone for your sins... Let's see the creativity... Are you up to the challenge? Or are you the W **P, dare we say the word... Leslie-we used DVC points too, wish I had about 10,000 more per year to use. All this banking and borrowing has me going nuts! And then having to wait for the 11 month window when it is a special cruise is enough to make me crazy!

Wish I had points for the PC cruise, but considering we got in immediately, we did okay!

Okay, back to work!
