Anyone else still fighting the dreaded DCL cold bug?

What's up with the DCL cold bug? (First I've heard of it).

DS and I are fine, but DW still has a bit of a cough that she picked up while on board some time around Tues/Wed of last week. It's gotten better (she's not waking me up at nights with coughing fits like she did while we were on board) but has not gone away.

Harry and I definitel have the DC cold bug - both of us went to drs. yesterday. He has the cough and keeps him up at night, even with cough syrup. Having CT Scan of his lungs to clarify some findings.

I have sinus infection and lung infection. Taking Amoxicillin for it right now. Cough is not too bad but sinus is bad. Buying Kleenex by the six pack.

Hope everyone gets better real soon.

Quincy and Michael both got the cold/sinus/cough bug.

Michael has since recovered, but Quincy is still coughing. It is a good thing she slept 12 hours last night. Sleep is a great cure-all. :flower:

AH HA. I am not alone with this cold then. It's almost gone now but man I woke up on Sunday with a sore throught and then an cold. Hope everybody gets better fast.

Z-pack cured me in 2 days with airborne backing me up (Thanks for the extra Shari!)

Jeff amazingly never got it, tho we passed it around our dining table to everyone else.

I've been sick since Sunday and DH woke up sick yesterday. Our fllight home was full of sick people. I just want to be well again!

I'm still depressed after getting off the ship. We've never had such a perfect vacation. Sigh.

None of the 3 of us got sick. :cool1: 4 flights plus 2 weeks with all you Typhoid Marys. Must be a miracle!!!

I don't see us at a reunion for quite a while....have trips in various stages of prep to NYC, Panama, Alaska, and Canada......if only Disney would branch out!!! :yo-yo:

On the main cruise board there is a post about Disney repositioing the Magic to the Medeteranian or Alaska for the 2007 Season. Sounds like the next assignment for this group.

OH Lordy - hopefully I will be able to make the Alaska trip, if it is true. Went with Norwegian about two years ago and it was fabulous. Took the 7 day land tour and the 7 day ship cruise. Ended up in Anchorage. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

History doesn't happen just once, we have to make it happen again.

Hi everyone,
got back yesterday ,went straight to bed to try to get over the Jet lag (8 hours) and just fired up the Computer a couple of hours ago,to catch up on the new posts.

Firstly a great big thank you for all the gifts and all the hard work it was really exciting to receive all that stuff.

it was really great to meet you all and we felt that the cruise was really special. We would love to get together for a reunion either at WDW or on another cruise if we can make it.

Ashley

We have booked another cruise onboard for 14th october 2006,which I think is the date of the Oktoberfest group.I know of a few Disers going from this cruise (i.e. Peter and Jenn,Dave and Ellen)any others.

Hey all you 'cold' people, did anyone get anything 'digestive? Eric and I both came home a little under the weather that way... I put myself on the BRAT diet, plus imodium, maybe have to go to clear liquids for a day or so. What a bummer after all those extra precautions with the gel and handiwipes.... maybe it's just too many mangoes after all.... sure hope so!

It's raining hard here, more than 7 inches in 3 days, anyone want to go swimming? The Florida statewide pool is now open for business!!!!! My sinuses are VERY grateful! Hooray for humidity!!!

ta ta,
Renae

Hi Everyone

I noticed that as the cruise progressed that some on the name badge inserts were looking a little beat-up. If you would like a new insert, just PM me with your address and I will be happy to send you new ones.

Ken
Thank you for doing this. I did a number on the insert when I wore it in the hot tub. I assume that this is for the landyard.

Please send a new insert to: Kathy Wallman

A story about our TaxiCab home.

When we got to heathrow Airport, there was a message on the TAnnoy asking us to go to Airport information. As we got to near to the Desk, there was a guy holding up a nameboard ,with our names who said that he was our replacement Cab Driver, and our driver couldnt make it.

Anyway we got in his car and he took us home ,but didnt seem familiar with the area we lived in,and didnt seem as professional as we would expect and a bit of a mad driver .Didnt think too much about it but about half an hour later had a call from our original driver to say that ,he hadnt been able to make it and had sent a replacement driver to the Airport ,who had called him as he hadnt found us .

What appears to have happened is that there is some kind of Scam in these circumstances ,and when a name is announced on the Tannoy there are freelance drivers who hastily write out a nameboard ,with the info from the Tannoy announcement and as they stand in front of the information desk, you dont bother to ask at the desk ,and they get the work.Asat london heathrow airport they are not ALLOWED TO SOLICIT FOR WORK.

Interesting Eh

At least we werent mugged or robbed

We also have had the dreaded colds,I got mine about wednesday of the second week of the cruise and it took nearly a week to get rid of it but at least it didnt spoil our vacation.

I've heard that the Disney Ships are designed for an Alaskan Cruise. For example, I think the pools are not heated and there is obviously no enclosure for the upper decks. Who's going to use the pools when the water tempature is like 40 degrees :cold:

Hi everyone,

Tony tells me that a several of our fellow passengers from the 14-day cruise are now enjoying a post-cruise chest cold.

If you are one of those affected, and you don't have a non-cruise explaination for it, please be sure to send an e-mail to Disney and let them know. (I tried to post the e-mail address here, but the system won't let me???) They are going to want to know your reservation and stateroom numbers.

I don't think there is anything seriously wrong, but Disney is always concerned when groups of passengers get sick.

It was great to meet so many of you on the cruise, and I'm enjoying your photos so far!
