I need a little help, please?? DD Kelsey has to submit some papers for high school while we are cruising. We are taking a laptop for her word processing. I know she can submit them online on DCL's computers, but what format does it take for uploading? (CD, 3.5 disk, etc.)?
Thanks -
My wife and I are unaware of any way to upload onto the DCL computers. We were told there is no access. Period. Anybody else know of anything? Angela suggests that possibly an internet cafe in port or having the cast members do the download, but I don't know about that. Call DCL and ask. There ought to be an answer in cases like this. Hope someone else hasn't already answered this.

You can try www.gotomypc.com I would use this option- as it has a free trial. It would depend if you think your home computer would be "stable" enough to keep working while being one for 2 weeks without being rebooted. (My desktop wouldn't...and my laptop will be with me.)

Otherwise...you can fax. I had a very long talk with the DCL representative- as it is important for me to have access to the computer for school.

Good luck

I've got it!!!!!!! Federal Express!!!!!!!!
How many bottles of beer are on the wall? Kay, you lush!!!!

Yes, I looked into this pretty extensively. My company hooked me up with a PDA (Treo) that will function as a modem anywhere I have cingular cell service (about dial up speed). I am happy to help anyone that may need to try to send. I am on Mac OSX and could accept files on CD. I have no idea how well it will work, but heard that they have had cruisers get this service in the past...

It has been working in my day to day world when internet has not been avail, so I am happy to offer my computer for sending or receiving files, if it is working! We will be in 8546, so just give us a ring and I will see if I can help

Of course there are always the internet cafes in the various ports, so that is a good viable option too if you have the time to go to one.

Best,
Michelle

Will your cell phone work in Mexico and out of the country without HUGE fees? If so- pretty cool!

Anyone else out there from the 1st day who HASN'T gotten their docs yet?

We booked the first day while on board the Wonder. Still no docs here.
I must be in the "give these folks an upgrade" batch. :rotfl:

Weeeelllll...I can dream, can't I?!

Lol Tiki girl....I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they are waiting to see if the rooms get filled so they know how many upgrades to give. Then we are the ones 1st in line(since we booked first). I know its a long shot....but hey I like to be positive. :rotfl:

PS. Tiki girl are you flying out on the 13th via Southwest airlines......if so maybe we will run into each other:)

According to my call to DCL................get this...................tickets are printed off in "batches" and according to what batch you were put in, that's when your tickets print.......................so I asked, does that mean the earlier I booked, the later batch I am in? Could be, they said......................

So I booked the 1st day, as soon as the cruise opened up on the ressie system. Anyone else out there from the 1st day who HASN'T gotten their docs yet?

We booked the first day and have not received out documents....

They do?!?! I never would have thought that. Although I guess it does make sense as it's a completely different situation from the AP. You're not really getting anything extra by using a Parkhopper at both parks. Should I assume these are the regular Parkhoppers that are just for the theme parks and not including all of the other stuff - water parks, Disney Quest, etc?

You can use the park hopper plus or regular park hopper. Doesn't matter.

Once they did take our AP, but it was a total mistake and wouldn't do it the next day. So I go ta plus then. :rotfl:

The weather in Ft. Lauderdale today is nice - but it is too dark outside. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We also booked the first day & first hour DCl opened reservations. We still have a couple weeks to we leave, perhaps the delay in documents might be good news for some...

SO ladies, what was the final decision on a pajama morning breakfast ?? We are all for it, but have to order some jamies right off..

Bye, Kim

Might be kind of fun for an at sea day....I wonder if the company has enough of the jammies for this to happen. The company would really wonder what is happening.

BTW- Good morning to all. It is supposed to be cold here- high of 54 but clear and sunny.
;)

OK... I have been MIA for four days and come back to a gazillion posts! This is crazy! Glad to see everyone is getting excited and ready to sail.

I commented last weekend to DH that people wear the clothing year round and they are such big fans.

At least they are not like Mickey Mouse fans, we never wear any clothing, have house wares, collect art, or do any thing like collect pins, or other such crazyness, Thanks goodness we are the normal enthusiasts........LOL

Posts: 0 Too late to participate in DIS board canal fun? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, we've been booked on the Magic canal crossing since June 14 last year. I watched the board for info, but just realized last week I should have been reading the cruise meet section, not the general section. Anyway, there are 4 in our party:

Chris -
Cathy - 51 (on sailing day!)
Caitlin -
Dolores -

Is it too late to join in the fun of the sailaway parties, magnets, etc? I understand if it is. If not, can you let me know what we need to do to share in the fun?

I've enjoyed reading the info, particularly your daily updates now that I've discovered the secret to the DIS cruise forum. Sorry for being slow on the uptake...

Thanks much for taking the time to respond

Cathy
