Linda, get in your car and get back to Sam's and purchase something for $13.

This morning at 8:55 we were at ninety-eight hundred - ****

almost 12 hours to make 100 posts

We can still catch up to 10,000 before the weekend is over.

Elaine,

I went to CKU 3 years ago when it was here. :flower: It was amazing. :earseek: I took classes from Mrs. Grossman herself! :Pinkbounc I had one from Stacey Julian that changed the whole way I thought about my photos, :wizard: and one from Anna Griffin. :cheer2: They give you so much in free goodies that I had to take my XXL bag to take it all home in. :cool1: If it gets anywhere near you, you HAVE to go! :teeth:

Living in Orlando means a lot of conventions come here, like CKU. It's nice to be in an area where we don't have to travel far, but sometimes I do miss Utah, expecially when I want to scrapbook shop. They are few and far between around here...

Whew! Finally caught up to the end of the thread. My computer wouldn't let me into the boards most of Friday & Saturday and I've been working all weekend--getting ready for my 4th twelve now... I have no doubt that the posts will be over 10000 by the time I get home in the morning!

Hey guys, I need help with something....I just finished making all the labels for my sailaway gift bags, and labels for the pins...

Those few of you without stateroom numbers, please remember to PM Jeff or Jen to add the # when you get it.

Who is dznelin? Her name is Linda, and paid for the pins, but is not on the master list. I am bagging these with name, quantity and stateroom # in case I miss you at the sailaways. Any ideas? (If you read this dznelin please PM me)

Thanks!
Robin

This is the first time I have seen it...I may have seen it once as a nursing student. None of the nurses I work with have seen it before- there were people from ALL over the hosptial coming to look at it. They were taking pictures and sending them all over the country for verification...we have no ID doc on staff- only at main campus. Pt spiked a BIG fever- put off debridement until the chamber would be in place.

We see NecFas usually 3-4 times a year. Have one patient with it now--will be ok but is minus a few parts that they came in with. It is a really nasty bug!

I just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone....I had a really BAD day at work today. If the words ARTERIAL SPRAY mean anything to you- then I don't need to say anymore....and if they don't-
just know nurses don't really like it when their patients blood is spraying across the room. (NOT so fond of that!) We also don't like doing surgery in the patients room- versus in the oper. room.

Yep!! Know it well! Although you have to admit that things like this do tend to make your shift go a bit quicker!

Hi Guys,

I will post an update tomorrow for the scrapbag gift exchange and the Counted-cross stitch class.

Finished painting our luggage with Mickey characters this weekend, it is cute. Anything is an improvement over ugly blue dufflebags...

Bye, Kim

For all you 'experienced' travellers. ;) I've been reading all these Mexican guidebooks that say we have to split up our money and cards when shopping in Mexican cities so we can't be pickpocketed, never to wear a money belt :earseek: or belt pack, and to never take out a card or more than a couple of dollars in one place, because 'they' are watching and will know we have something worth taking. How do we pay for something if we can't reach for any money? :confused3 Find a bathroom to take it out of the pocket? :rotfl2: I never take much with me anyway, because it's all spent on the cruise itself, but I like to buy souvies. :teeth: Any ideas?

Renae

I wouldn't say I'm very experienced but I've been to Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, Puerta Vallarta, and Cozumel. I was worried about pickpockets and being robbed quite a bit before too.

The rule of thumb I would use is to not do anything you wouldn't do in a major U.S. city. I wouldn't flaunt money or let people see how much I am carrying in Mexico any more than I would San Francisco, Orlando, Chicago, Cleveland, Indianapolis, etc.

While in Mexico, I never felt the least bit threatened. We did get approached often but it was always someone wanting to do work for us - braid my wife's hair, sell us something, take us on a glass bottom boat tour, sell timeshares, etc. Unlike many U.S. cities I've been to, no one seemed to want money for nothing. They all wanted to work for it. I really respected that.

Treat them with respect and they will show you the same. A polite "no thank you" worked every time.

Now, this only goes for the populated tourist areas. I never ventured out of them into the more run-down areas or residential areas. I assume it is probably different there.

I wouldn't take large sums of cash with you (and it isn't a bad idea to split it in different pockets). Depending on what you want to buy, be expecting some change to come back in their currency. For this reason alone, it is smart to not try to buy a postcard with a $20 bill.

We also ended up using our credit card a lot in shops. We keep a small-limit card I use for foreign travel and Internet purchases. Fraud should be covered but in case something happens, we aren't out too much. I've heard you can get a better (and more accurate) conversion rate using a card instead of cash anyway.

I think you'll see once you get there that there really isn't much to worry about!

I hope that helps! See you at POFQ!

We are at:

83 bottles of beer on the wall (don't have to drink to participate)
83 bottles of beer - take one down pass it around

82 bottles of beer on the wall

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

82 glasses of foofie girlie drinks on the wall (hey, I gotta be honest!), 82 glasses of foofie girlie drinks... take one down, chug it down, 81 glasses of foofie girlie drinks!

I agree Steve. I lived and worked in Los Angeles for many years. I would feel safer flaunting my money (if I had any) in any of those ports than I would in LA!
