You seasoned travelers probably already know this, but I didn't think about it until I was looking for a couple of "BIG" bags to bring on this trip. Airlines are supposedly enforcing their luggage restrictions. The restrictions on Air Tran, the carrier we are using to get to Florida, are 60" maximum (Height + Width + Depth) and 50 lbs. I bought two huge rolling bags and they both just come in under the size restriction. We'll have to watch how much we stuff in them. I still need to check America West for their restrictions (our return flight to Michigan).

I had this big idea that our two little guys could share one big pullman and my DH & I could share a big rolling garment bag. The big debate in our house is that I'll never get everything in those bags. Um....well...we have to have a seperate shoe bag and a seperate toiletries bag....and our carry-ons....but we're only bringing two bags, honest. :teeth:

Hi Emily,

We'll have the two very loud 9 year old boys at the pool. One has glasses. If you don't see us, you'll hear us!

Have you thought of bringing a baby-food grinder? I may have one, but I might have given it away already. It's low tech. You basically just mash up whatever you are eating and give that to your baby, providing it's something they can have. We used it a lot when we traveled with the little guys. I've never been on a ship for two weeks straight with them though. Boy, that's gonna take a bit of planning!

Hopefully we'll see you at the pool on the 13th!

But I have to stock up on the FIFTY bottles of baby food I'll need on this trip, plus the other baby essentials at Walmart, so I don't know when we'll actually get to the hotel. If we are there early enough, I'm sure the kids will drag us out to the pool. I'll be the one with 5, 3 and 6 month old boys that everyone is saying "Boy, do you have your hands full" to. :Pinkbounc

Elaine,

You sound just like me! I started scrapping by going to a Creative Memories class and on the way home hit a scrapbook store and about bought them out! I love shopping for the goodies, and can never get enough of page design. I love seeing newbies get bit by the 'bug'. It makes us 'addicts' not look so weird if there are more of us, lol...

Elaine is correct-the pages we are doing are "themed" around our cruise from "Kingdom to Kingdom". What you will do is your page layouts and then you will have them all ready to just put your pictures in when you get home.

However, if you are so desirous, if you are taking pictures with film, you could always go to Shutters and get your pictures developed and then bring your pictures you have already taken to the scrapbook class and your pages would be all done, OR

if you are really looking for more things to bring on the ship, you could bring your own photo printer and download your digital pictures to your laptop and then print out the ones you want and ta-da.....your pages will be all done.

Linda

Thanks Linda. See, this is why I'm afraid scrapbooking is not for me. I am so obsessive compulsive type A ++++++ that I think I'll lie awake at night wondering if I used the right glue stick. :sad2:

Too bad you didn't live closer to me. Half of our basement rec room is dedicated to scrapbooking. I have two huge desks and my supplies are in 2 oak cabinets (all separated, labelled and in baskets). I've been to a few stores that I actually have more stuff than them :rotfl: My friends love coming to scrapbook at my house because I have just about all the tools!!!

I'm crazy about scrapbooking and I am always on the lookout for new stores. I even planned our trip to WDW in October 2001 around the Memories Expo scrapbook show that was held in Orlando.

I went to a sewing and needlework show on Friday (they also had some scrapbook booths) and managed to spend $200 even though I didn't NEED anything!!!

How do you spell scrapbook addicted? "E L A I N E"!!!!!!

You run to Wal-Mart and throw multiple pairs of BFFT's on the ground looking for some with LIME GREEN lights :teeth:

Renae... how many answers do you need..... I could go on and on.... :teeth:

Don't get me started on scrapbooking ... I have two desks and one closet filled with stuff..... I have made a total of 3 pages which took me almost 3 months back in 1991. I love the idea of it though... and keep buying all kinds of cute stuff with the best of intentions.... LOL

Leslie,

I hope you're coming to Linda's class...I think you will get re-inspired to get back scrappin'. Once you get started...you won't be able to stop. I have completed about 15 albums since 2000 and currently have 4 on the go!!!

Events
Sailaway Singalong

Mom2Belle&PeterPan (Barbara) is holding a special event to take place at the sailaway party on Deck 10 when we leave from Los Angeles. We will all circle the railing mid-ship (around the “official” Sailaway party) and join hands. Barbara will have sheets with the lyrics to the song, Celebrate the Future Hand in Hand. On cue, all Fools will sing the song together. Barbara is working with DCL to have the band play the music for us, but we anticipate with 500 plus Fools singing, they’ll either have to join in or wait until we’re finished.

Celebrate the Future Hand in Hand

The future is calling
you gotta catch it if you can
The magic’s unfolding
and you can hold it in your hand
We can touch tomorrow today
To make some memories that never fade away

Chorus:
Put your hand on the future
Share a dream together around the world
With a voice from every country
A face from every land
We’ll celebrate the future hand in hand
We’ll celebrate the future hand in hand

A magical tomorrow lives inside of you
so join this celebration
it’s a fairytale come true
All of us
In harmony
All of us together
Making history

Repeat chorus

The Path Between the Seas Panama Canal Party

ThreeCircles (Jason) is hosting a party at 11:00 a.m., deck 9 forward by Quiet Cove. The theme of the party is The Path Between the Seas (PBTS) which some of us have read in preparation for this journey. Other than John Stevens which Jason has called, you are encouraged to dress up as your favorite character from PBTS. A mini reinactment will be held! The Quiet Cove bar will offer Mudslides and Concrete Mixers at $1.00 off during the party. Relive the days when the Canal was built with your fellow Fools!

The Day after the Night Before

For those of you whose children regularly attend Sunday school, Mississaugamom (Arlene) feels it is important that nothing get in the way of their religious education. Therefore, she has proposed a Sunday school, after the morning walk on deck 4, to be held on secret deck 7. This will give all of you a chance to sleep in and spend some time without your children. The topic for August 21 will be “Confessional – God is still watching you, even though you are at sea”, a lesson so the children won’t think they don’t have to behave while on the ship. August 28 will be “The Day After the Night Before” and dealing with the awful feelings surrounding what the kids did Saturday night. An optional Wednesday night session on August 24 will be “The elevator game will not get me into heaven any sooner”. Enough said!

Elaine,

I'm with you! We got a 4 bedroom house so I could have a scrapbook room! I have a large light table, a desk, and more files of sorted and labeled supplies than I can keep up with! I have stuff hanging on the wall, photos fill the closet, and stacks of die cuts in CD holders... yeah, I'm addicted!

Any of you ever heard of CKU? It's a 3 day 'university' of classes with crops every night and celebrity teachers. I'm going when it comes here in July. EVERYONE there is addicted in a big way.

Leslie,

I can use lots of answers to the 'You might be a Dis'. It's for our sailaway gifts! I love the ones you've sent so far, so bring 'em on!

I'm dying for Creating Keepsakes to bring CKU to Toronto Ontario. They did a CKU in Vancouver last year but airfare across Canada is very expensive so that was out of the question.

I emailed CK about a CKU in Toronto and I received a reply that it may be a future location. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I envy you going to one at WDW. You will have to let me know how it is.

For all you 'experienced' travellers. ;) I've been reading all these Mexican guidebooks that say we have to split up our money and cards when shopping in Mexican cities so we can't be pickpocketed, never to wear a money belt :earseek: or belt pack, and to never take out a card or more than a couple of dollars in one place, because 'they' are watching and will know we have something worth taking. How do we pay for something if we can't reach for any money? :confused3 Find a bathroom to take it out of the pocket? :rotfl2: I never take much with me anyway, because it's all spent on the cruise itself, but I like to buy souvies. :teeth: Any ideas?

Renae

Pack it on your Service Dog.
