Ok, next strange question. Is anyone else on here a Ham? Both my wife and I are, and are bringing handheld tri-band radios, but were curious if anyone else was planning on bringing theirs as well.

I was threatening to hang a HF antenna off my balcony to see if we could reach the states from the ship - would definately be cheaper than the ship to shore rates. Don't know how they would react to that, though.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Uh oh... how did you find out about Gloria?? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
LINDA!!!!??????

Oh wait... you're talking about ham radios....Oh..never mind.... :rotfl::rotfl:

:drinking1 Now where on earth did you get THAT idea??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :drinking1

Hmmm... looking at all the photos of folks in pirate garb... it would seem alcohol would have to be a factor to for voluntary participation.

We did Halloween on the Magic back in 2000... I thought that was strange enough.. but seeing what you all have planned, I must admit this definitely takes it to another level!

You can see them here. http://p095.ezboard.com/fdizpinsboardsfrm2.showMessage?topicID=594.topic

Be sure to scroll all the way down to see the different styles.

Thank you for the link....they are beautiful...while I'm new to this Disney Pin thing and was asked by some friends to pick them up some...2 hour lines???...might have to re-think that one.

I agree with whoever said that an order form should be in our stateroom and that we could order the pins that way. No pushing...no shoving....no lopsided ship 'cause everyone will be in line on one side of the ship LOL :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Starting at Page 499 – WOW you guys were busy today. End on 508.
Need glasses as the eye strain is getting to me……

Randall – We are on DVC points and got our stateroom assignment. 7042

NEWS FLASH……… NEWS FLASH…………….NEWS FLASH

Each person on the repo cruise will be receiving one of the hubcap sized pins, This pin will also serve as your dining plate for the duration of the cruise.

Welcome Heide.

Make sure to sew the velcro on REALLY tight unless you want to provide a free show

I plan on shorts under mine, not going regimental as it were. Scenes of Brave Hart come to mind, now that is scary.

For those who booked DVC, have you gotten your stateroom assignment yet? We called and found out today we have a stateroom with a solid white wall. YUCK. That is the last type of verandah room we wanted.

Only if you are willing, I would like those who booked via DVC to send me a PM with your stateroom humber. I'm trying to see if there is a pattern of stateroom assignments.

:confused3

Thanks.

Randall

:earsboy:

You know I couldn't resist!!! We too received our assignment for a Cat 6 and received a solid wall. I am one unhappy duck right now. There are 20 solid wall cat 6s on the Magic, 140 total Cat 6s.

Fully understanding any request is not a sure thing, we specifically requested NOT to be assigned a solid wall. 919 DVC point is a lot for a Cat 6.5 stateroom.

Rant off... :bitelip:

Scott,

When did you receive your assignment; were you GTY? When did you book the cruise?

Looks like you received a great assignment! Congrats!

I Recieved this Email today ..Portion of.

" The DCL agent said that they got a weird call the other day. Someone called to ask about a new port of call. Seems they heard that Cuba may be on the itinerary!"

Thought you might like to know! :rotfl: :teeth: :rotfl:

LOL

I GOT VERANDIZED

We booked forward in category 8, but we're moving up your aft to a navigators verandah room.

New location for the Poseidon Adventure viewing party.

Each person on the repo cruise will be receiving one of the hubcap sized pins, This pin will also serve as your dining plate for the duration of the cruise.

I want two so I can make a bra out of them.

We talked to some friends about this who are definately the ones to know. They explained that WDW Event Services offered to do an RSP program, or ordering system for DCL for the two cruises. Unfortunately, DCL turned them down flat. As of right now, there will be no pre-orders or RSP offered.

So, bring some comfortable shoes, because we are going to be standing in a *lot* of lines. :sad2: Until I saw the jumbo pin, I was refusing to do anything that was going to involve the hours long lines, but now....

I'll let Cash hold a place in line for you if you like......

All three of us are! Won't be bringing any equipment though. I kinda would like to see the HF antenna off the balcony.... have a feeling DCL may have a problem with that :)

Steve,

We received our assignment just yesterday, well that is when I called and asked. Booked the cruise a long time ago. We were a Cat 5 Gty.

Grass skirts and pin bras, what else will we think of.......

For what it's worth, I sent an email asking for a better method of selling the pins than the usual pin cart chaos.

If you've never experienced a LE pin sale on a cruise ship before, the term "every man for himself" applies. It's insane and the time that they sell them is just plain stupid.

Now let's see a show of hands for everyone who was contacted by someone who's "gotta have that pin!!!" ME! ME! ME! :teeth:

I already have 3 calls Regina LOL!! :rotfl2:

I have late seating and have a feeling we may not be eating in the dining room that night. So is the consenus that it will be sold at the pin cart and not at the Treasure Ketch??

I am betting at least $75 minimum cha - ching

I too will be calling in the morning. Why would any of us want to spend the BIG ka-ching for the cruise itself, only to spend time standing in line... Hey we all have done it at one time or another, but this is really rediculous... especially in the evening during dinner and shows! If there's a pin limit, let us buy up to the limit, and then we can stand in line for the extras. Shoot, I will volunteer one afternoon at sea to help package up the orders, but to give up 1 to 2 hours per night just to buy a pin, is not my idea of relaxing. :sad2:

They will get our $ either way. Just because we're on a 14 day cruise, I hope this isn't their idea of scheduled planned activities for the adults! :rotfl2:

I'm hoping our voice will count! :goodvibes

Wow great idea maybe we can hang a dipole between the smoke stacks. I am a Ham but have not been active in 7 years. Moved to the new house with the idea of new rig, dipoles..never did it to busy at work. So no equipment to bring along.

Wow,

Two upgrades in our Dis boards group today and niether of you deemed it worthy of a dancing banana!
Not to worry I've got you covered. ;)

I also voiced my concern about the possibility of long pin lines to DCL today.

Sure wish I had been on the Christmas cruise to experience Gloria in person... I think we all need to demand an encore performance!

So sorry about those who are not happy with their stateroom assignments. Is there still a possibility of changes?
