Disney Store....gee, what is THAT?!?!?! We never had any in Wyoming, but they closed all of them in Colorado, too. NO clue where the closest one would be, but it is NOT worth a day long trip.....

Oh, well, I'll have to look at WDW before the cruise and see if there's something I can't live without......

Oooh! That could be a lot of fun to run a dipole up there, just wouldn't want to run it myself. :scared1: Did I mention that I HATE heights?

We brought our HTs on the 7-night Western last year, and they came in handy. Compared to the FRS radios that so many people use, we never had any frequency competition. When DW went back to the ship in Key West, we could reach her no problem from anywhere in town. Castaway Cay too.

One of these days, I'll have to share what happened when we asked for permission onboard to use the radios. Was pretty funny - just what happened as they went through the approval process.

You will have to talk to my father LOL. I am sure he will love the story. He has been a ham for 40 years.

:rotfl: Actually, I just bought some closeout socks for work from STP...had to pay $9 for shipping when they could just open the back door and throw them at me when I drive by any of the 876 times a day!!!!! :rotfl:

LINDA!!!!!! Wave at the Holiday Inn Express for me!!! That was my home away from home in 2002!!! "Lived" there for 2 months.........great memories!!! :goodvibes

Finally got through it all! I was on Spring Break for 4 days -- got back last night.

Congrats to all the new cabin assignments.

And, who was looking for kids on the cruise?? Someone new with a few girls. My DD is 6 and I also have DS9 with us.

My DD was snorkeling in the pool this week! I am so excited. She liked it and was pretty good. Now, if her skin holds out... She has really bad excema and the salt water was a killer the last time we cruised. Now, that is just another reason to go with DCL -- fresh water pools!

And, can someone post that link for the other schooner-type excursion in Curacau? I can't remember who posted it, but I'm thinking of signing up!

Speaking of pins-----

Here's my two cents worth. We "assign" one person each day to be the "head" pin person. They get in line at 6 a.m. or so, stand there all day, read a book, and force all those non-disboard vacationers to waste their day in line also, cuz once the first person gets in line, the line will grow and grow and grow. Now, every person this gets in line behind you gets told "the rest of my family will be coming after dinner at 6 p.m. to join me in line." Then at 7:00 every disboard family member shows up to meet up with their "sister" or "brother" or "mom" or "dad" for that "family reunion" and then there are about 100 of us in line before the rest of those idiots that stood in line for hours.

So do you think that will cause a problem?

:rotfl: :rotfl:

THIS IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM. And it did happen on a cruise I was on not too long ago.

Actual fights started out. They came along and gave wrist bands out and who was not there did not get pins and that caused a problem because some people were in their room or in the restroom or went to get someone or whatever else. It was really bad.

This is really a problem and I have been in the middle of it. My choice now is to avoid this type of thing because nothing is really worth it.

If you get the pins, good, if not, YOU WILL LIVE.............

Just my 2 cents right now. I have been there, done that and don't want to do it again.

No one spoke to anyone hardly after that. It was horrid.

And, yes, people save spots in line and that could put you WAY BEHIND IN THE LINE ---

Also, if they are sold in the shop, they only let say - 10 people into the shop at the time - and as people leave - they let say - 10 more people in....

That worked also...

BUT I DON'T THINK WE WILL GET THAT FAR WITH US....

WHEW!!!! Busy, busy, busy....It took forever to catch up! IT'S FRIDAY!!!!! It has been a very stressful work week! Now, I have to go rent a heavy duty carpet cleaner since my DH just told me that his sister's wedding is next weekend, and I have 8 people that are going to be staying at my house  :earseek: Is it May yet??? And since my little dauchsund puppy, Oobie has completely taken upon herself to tear up everything in puppy distance, I have a lot of work cut out for me!!! Oh well, at least its Friday! Have a great weekend everyone.

By the way, I am looking at getting a laptop. Any ideas or input on things I should look for? I am not the smartest when it comes to brands and things like that! Thanks!

DELL IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO............... :cool1: :goodvibes

I SPLURGEd and just purchased a JVC digital camcorder. Do any of you have any "discounted" sources for additional batteries ?

Thanks, Kim

Kim,

Try batteries.com and compare prices

YEAH !!!! it’s FRIDAY!!!!!

Just have to cap off a few things here at work and I am going to take off early and flex off some of the OT for this week. Maybe I should work so I can afford one of the hubcaps. I think they would look pretty cool on Lynda’s scooter. Maybe they will let us borrow a welder and we could mount them up during the cruise.

I get the feeling we should all be paid by DCL as consultants and cruise directors, as I am thinking we have more stuff planned than they have!!!

Kevin and Randall, Lynn got a kick out of your banter, then she realized she learned of our stateroom assignment here on the boards. I told her I sent here a text msg as soon as I found out.

We are 30 days away from leaving. Dreaming of this trip. Dive Quest, meeting ya all, Seeing the Magic, hearing the claxon, Castaway Cay, Diving in CUR, the Canal, Mexico, DL . WOW what an experience to be had, ready to live it all in.

Gotta go to the Doc from the annual Clan Lab Physical, great physical and it is paid for by the office. I just have a bad case of White Coat syndrom.

I've had good luck with Ebay. Just do a search on your exact model number and you will see lots of returns for supplies for your camera.

My last camera was a JVC and I bought two 6-hour batteries on Ebay. Sorry, I don't remember who specifically I bought it from. Just be sure to check their feedback first! Also check the shipping costs to make sure they aren't charging you more for the shipping than the batteries!

The only problem I had was that since I bought batteries so big, I had to buy a stand-alone charger to charge them, also from Ebay. The other problem with the larger capacity battery was that it was physically MUCH larger. It stuck out the back of the camera around two inches! I couldn't even get my face close to the viewfinder!

The seller will list the dimensions of the battery. You might want to make sure it is similar to yours.

I was thinking last night that even if Disney planned few activities, I would still have a great time with this group. I want to thank everyone for all of their hard work in putting together these great events. I am so excited to cruise with you.

I copied this from a thread on the main board:

"Do you know how that's going to work when Disney starts allowing you to book your spa/Palo reservations online? I spoke to Debbie yesterday and she said that'g going to be the case in the beginning of May. "

Can anyone else verify that this is true? If it is, do you think it will be ready for us to use before our trip?

I hope it's true! That would be so cool. It would save us all a lot of stress after we embark!

I second that sentiment! Can't wait to meet you all! :flower:

Did everyone get their stateroom assignment? DCL has some rooms available for cast member discounts...so maybe they're done with those of you who didn't have a cabin number...

No room assignment for me. :-( I'm still in a lifeboat suite.

Oh....PLEASE OH PLEASE let this be true (and for our cruise). Besides my DH I am the only one of our group who knows where to go and what to do....So I will be running around like a chicken with my head cut off...making ressies...getting sailaway stuff together...hopefully eating something...decorating doors...this would be sooooooooo cool :cool1:

As someone who never signed up for the internet access before, does the "package" deal allow you unlimited emails to be sent as well as received? I noticed that on the itemized basis, receiving emails was no charge (except for the .75/min) but sending an email was a $3.95/per charge. I must sign up for the package as my high school teen will will taking finals as soon as we get back!:sad1:She will need to communicate with her teachers as much as possible. (right...;))

We used the unlimited package on our previous cruises, and I recall that unlimited was unlimited. My husband was taking distance courses during one of the cruises, and was constantly on line and emailing for class. My High School daughter will be getting off the boat this time, and walking straight into finals. She most definitely will be spending time in the cafe this cruise getting info from final reviews, from her classmates as well as teacher websites.
