Hey Linda:

I heard some really great things about your scraping class on the 10-day. Sorry I wasn't feeling better and I missed it (and the neat packet of stuff you handed out). Don't know how much scrapping can get done while on the cruise as we won't have any pictures printed yet but I like the idea of a grab bag exchange. It would be fun to see what different things we can find for the trip. Would a $20 maximum be too expensive? I can easily spend that much on scrap booking supplies in a heart beat. I appreciate you taking the time to teach new techniques while on the cruise. I'm really looking forward to getting together with everyone.

Good luck with your auditors. Just remember that they're people too just trying to do their job. I've been on both sides of an audit and I know the anxiety of trying to get things prepared so it goes smoothly and I'm currently an auditor by profession so I know that I just want to get my job done like everyone else - I really don't eat bookkeepers/controllers for lunch or dinner - maybe a mid-day snack :rotfl2:

Keep smiling :flower: The cruise is getting closer every day.

OK...i'm in a rush today...have to leave for the airport in a little bit to pick up my DSIL. So far I have added Disneycruising (party of 8) and Mickbee (party of 3) to the list. I will try and update sometime tonight.

Until then if you want to join the list just post or send me a PM.

 :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1:  :bounce:

Double Digit Dance

Can you add us to the sail away party list?
We are a group of three: Hubby (RickW), DS (Isaac) and me.

I am trying to catch up on this thread.
We have had a crazy couple of days, but we got all our travel finalized, made our final payment for the cruise and I just book the Epcot Segway tour for May 13th, I can't wait!

14 weeks to go.

Hi

Could you add Sheila Kasper to the list for scrapbooking.

Thanks
Liz

And add Lynda, please...no Cash...he's thumbless and prefers to sleep when craft time comes... :sunny: The scrapbooking meet on the 10-day was another activity I missed...wish I could remember what was so important...

We will be having a scrapbook class (hosted by me) on board. A 100 pages or so ago, I had people PM me if they were interested. I am putting some stuff together so you can actually do a "page" during the class. Since I do Creative Memories I am just ordering a few like Disney things to help people get started. So far I have the following who said they were interested in the class:

bettemom (Kim)
Mickey&joshnut (Elaine)
ScottH (Lynn)
Az Pirates
SandraLee
nasmith (Jill)
Q'smyprincess (Laurie)
KPROS (signed up Shari!)
PinDiva (Leslie)
Moocow35 (Robin)

I am planning on 45 minutes to 1 hour on a sea day and I am going to go back and look at my navigators from Christmas to try and figure the best time so we don't miss too much. I definitely don't want to miss Ducky Williams series and I figure the day before the PC they will probably have a presentation of some kind about the PC. They did that on Royal Caribbean and had some "expert" on the ship. It was extremely fascinating and worth attending.

so just post here or PM me if you are interested and I'll add you to the list. I just want to get an idea of how many packets to put together. At Christmas I actually had people walking by as we did our scrapbook hour and ask if I was having another class that they could come to. Maybe Disney should be paying me to come do scrapbooking with Disney on board! They could make a ton of money selling more scrapbook stuff!

Linda

Linda,

I would LOVE to be a part of your class. :teacher: I've never taken time to learn about scrapbooking. This craft has advanced so much... with all the supplies out there now, it can be intimidating! Yes, please sign me up.

Thanks, It will be so much fun! :flower:
I will gladly pay to cover the cost of my supplies! Just let me know.
Georgie (bonzie1)

I think glow in the dark stuff would be a fun gift for the sailaway - even if it's not dark right then - you know it will be eventually.
:teeth:

A craft could be fun too - i'm guessing it would just be a matter of trying to find a good time to do that.

I'm looking forward to the scrapbook get together! I really appreciate Linda offering her time and talents!

I went to a CM party about a week ago. The consultant had us describe our scrapbooking style - I'm definitely a social scrapper. I need to get motivated to work on my own sometimes or I'll never get caught up!

Creative memories has some really fun Disney stuff. I resisted getting the Mickey album only because 7 x 7 just isn't big enough!

I'd put together a packet for an exchange if there's enough interest. I agree with Shari, I can spend $20 on scrapping supplies without even blinking!

Like everyone else, life is getting in the way of cruise planning. If I don't get busy on the yearbook for my DD's gymnastics team I'm going to miss deadline. Every year I swear I will not do it again and they always talk me into "just one last time"
:headache:

Reminder to self: Do NOT agree to do yearbook again next year!

I was asked to 'splain something just in case some of you aren't aware of it.

The reason for the 90 day excursion booking window is because Disney changed its payment schedule. Guests booking suites (of which there are only 22 such staterooms) have to pay their balance by then. They also changed the balance due date to 75 days prior for everyone else.

What does this mean to the repo people? Really nothing since these payment changes were not retroactive. While there are some who must have booked after this policy went into effect and are bound by the new terms, it's probably a minimal number since we're all hanging onto our staterooms with no intention of letting them go.

In other words, we may be creating our own "panic" regarding paying these off a month earlier than we're obligated to in order to get the excursions.

I don't surf the net. For some reason, I'm kept pretty busy right here. :teeth: I don't know if this is being discussed on other sites. For all I know, DCL is going to be inundated with balance due payments at the 90 day mark, which will make Mickey very, very happy. :earsboy:

Just trying to bring a bit of perspective to this. I won't discourage anyone from paying in advance to secure what you want. Heck, I'll be on that cruise and I don't want to find out how long I can tread water because someone missed getting the excursion that they wanted by not paying in advance. :teeth: With so many of you doing it, I'll probably do the same, but realistically, it was a non-issue.

...and that's all she wrote!! pirate: pirate: pirate:

I really am going to sign off and get busy on yearbook....

Just wanted to let anyone who is looking at ordering from Oriental Trading Co know that someone posted a code for free shipping on the budget board today.

For purchases of $60 or more code is WC53808 It expires 2/15

I know at some mail order places shipping can be almost as much as your order - might as well save that $$ to use on the cruise!

I got early dinner seating! My daughter would never have made it to the late seating! I don't care...I like the pizza

Kim,
How did you find out about getting early seating? I am so torn on whether to do early or late seating. Since we're coming from California 8:30 dining will be our normal dinner time of 5:30. Ugh! I just can't decide. :confused3

Laurie

Speaking of scrapbooking....I just got back from Michael's where I had to buy a craft Solar System for DD's preschool and while I was there I picked up a few scrapbooking items for the cruise exchange. FUN!!! I am a complete novice on scrapbooking and can't wait to learn from all you experts!! :cool1:

Laurie

Well we have a few souls who are interested so far in exchanging surprise scrapbooking bags:

Kim ( Bettemom)
Laurie ( Q's my Princess)
Az Pirates
Shari ( spros)

This should be fun. My scrapbboking supplies almost equal my quilting supplies, however I can quilt, but know ZIP on how to scrapbook...

Any more want to join in the exchanging scrapbooking surprise bags ???

Also, my mother ( bette) is NOT a scrapbooker, however she is a fantastic counted cross stitcher Her work for many years was on display and sale at EPCOT at the American Pavilion. If anyone is interested in learning this art or in exchanging counted cross stitch surprise bags she would love to join in.

Bye, Kim

My auditors are pretty cool, it's just trying to get everything together that is so time consuming. Once I give them Girl Scout Cookies, they just melt like butter............and the rest is history!!!!

I'm okay with a grabbag thing of stuff. Let's see what other people's thoughts are, but I'm in!

Lynda and Georgie and Sheila, I've added you to the list!

Oh, I'll do the exchange also. I probably have $2,000 worth of stuff just sitting at my house. Yep, you are looking at the figure right! Remember, I get my CM stuff at cost which I also passed on to anyone on the cruise at Christmas. I'm still willing to do that also.

Oh, and AZ Pirate, have I got something to show you on the PC Cruise with what you can do with the 7 x 7 Mickey Photo Album. You'll definitely want one. I'll be bringing some on board for those that want them. (along with Mickey stickers, Pooh stickers, and other Disney stuff!

Linda,
When I picked up my daughter from preschool today, I ordered the 7x7 Mickey Photo Album & some stickers! I figure I'll start small and work my way up! I want to finish it!
Laurie

Linda,

Do you have a picture of the Mickey album? I just read about it here this morning and can't find it on the Creative Memories website. The mother I ordered from today said they are discontinuing this album. Maybe I'll get 2!!

Laurie

OK now that we are 100 days out I am starting to plan. I was reviewing the 10-day cruise Navigators to get a sense of what our cruise might be like as far as events, extra costs, etc. In most cases you should be able to just double the 7-day, but you never know. Thought I would list it here so you can actually see the comparison.

Here are the basics I have so far, based on the average cost per day on the 7 vs 10 vs 14 day (daily rate with nice "round" numbers):

7-night 10-night 14-night*
Internet 89.99 129.99 179.99*
Wine Classic 159.00 228.00 319.00*
Wine Premium 249.00 359.00 499.00*
Rainforest Pass 75.00 120.00 150-170.00*

*estimate
Other notes...

The 10-night had both deck parties (tropical and pirate). Maybe we will have pirate and mexicali.

There were 2 formal and 1 semi-formal nights. I would expect 2 of each, hopefully not more than that. I don't want more than that!

In addition to the standard shows (didn't I read we are supposed to have a new one?), there was Rhythm Extreme (like Stomp), a couple of movie nights or variety folks, WWTBAM, and a "variety spectacular" which included Christy Carlson Romano who was featured several times in the first half of the 10-night cruise.

They had time for 60s, 70s, and 80s nights, woo hoo! :) Maybe we can have a 90s too. Hmm, where's my blue dress....Monica!!

Menus were:

Rotation (3)
Around the World
Master Chefs
Pirates menu
Golden Mickey's menu
Christmas menu
Captain's Gala
Til We Meet Again

Hmm, they don't say ahead of time what night is which special menu. I wouldn't want to miss something good while I'm eating at Palo, I plan to eat there twice.

Anyway, let me know if there is something else you want summarized from the Navigators. Guess we won't know it all til we get there. I find that frustrating!

Linda, where did you have the scrapbook class on the 10 day? I just never see much open space. Are you able to use one of the restaurants during off time?

Sandra

I am a VERY NOVICE at scrapbooking -- can think about it, but don't have much creativity to get it done.

I finally got around to making our hotel arrangements for the night prior. With all of the warnings about the Space Shuttle, we'll rent a car and head down the night before.

I tried the Radisson but they're booked solid so we're staying at the Courtyard, and I don't even want to say how expensive it is. :earseek:

I'm probably the last one, but if any of you still haven't made your plans, I suggest that you do it soon.

So do I. I have really been thinking about this and without knowing what the schedule will be I am having a hard time figuring out when to do what. How are all of you guys making these decisions when we really know so little about the overall plan...

I guess this is when I am envious that the August cruisers will know what is happening from us and that will be so nice...

But then I remember that we are going sooner and then I get over it....LOL!

Oh well, I think it will be fun even when we dont know all the details...makes it more of an adventure...

Oh, and count me, my sis and mom in for the scrapbooking and I know that I can definitely participate in an exchange if that takes off.

I cant really commit to a early meet as our girls like to be in the pool first thing - even before shrimp!!! - and we are usually dragging them out for the safety drill, but we will be around for the sailaway party - total 8 peeps...

We have our pirates names, but I have been knocked out of commission for the past few days with a nasty flu/virus....I am finally feeling a bit human today and have alot to catch up on....

I am getting too excited.....

Michelle
