It wasn't easy.. Between Joe and I we checked 6 pieces of luggage and each had two carryons....LOL and DIDN'T USE HALF OF IT!!! Pack LIGHT. I don't care if you guys see me in something twice or three times... get over it! ;) This time we have to schlep it home from CA... usually we're just parked at the port. BIG difference.
Okay where was everyone in chat tonight!!!

Leslie...Here are my thoughts on packing...pack all the clothes that are approaching the end of their usefullness and dispose of them at the end of our cruise! When DH and I spent 3 weeks in Europe years ago...we packed very light and ended up hating our clothes by the end of the journey! The other idea is Lynda's...buy new clothes along the way! :cool1: I'm not a big shopper, but love the idea of being able to buy a new shirt/top here and there!

DH often reminds me of the beauty of a beach vacation...bathing suit, bathing suit, bathing suit! :cool1:

Sorry we missed the chat...dinner time in California!

Grass skirt is ordered, anyone else joining the club of the Hawaiian Kilts?

Pirate outfits are also done, Lynn got some new earrings.

Missed the Buffett webcast, actually never did listen top one.

Not really excited about getting back into the work grove.

Not literally, but we did drive by the house again this year, several times as usual.....a girlfriend I went to high school with points it out every year....I've been hearing about Scott and Lynn for years without ever meeting them til I got to FL last May!!! :goodvibes

The map?!?!? HA! He keeps that baby under lock and key!!! pirate:

Btw, Scott, Billy is REALLY worried about doing ANYthing with us again!! That "willy nilly" comment really got to him!!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I told him April '03 that some people take their Disney seriously, explained about trip reports, etc.....guess he didn't believe me--he does now!!! :earboy2:

How did they know? (I may have to add that to my signature ;))

A Disneyland question...
I have read on the main DIS page for DL that the 50th celebration is going to last for 18 months. However I can not find any info to confirm this on offical pages. We aren't going to stay in LA after the cruise but would like to return in late summer/early fall 2006 if the celebration is still going on. Anyone know the offical word on this?

Scott-hey DH wants to know if he needs to bring all his own gear for scuba diving? And tell us again, where you are scuba diving? He may join you on another dive or two. Will he need a wet suit or will the water be warm enough? He thinks it will be fine. Thanks!

Ever been to Margarettaville at Universal in Orlando? Robert and I went last time I was there on business and had a great time. Guess we won't have time to hit it this trip, but maybe when we go back again for member homecoming!

Here is the info on the SCUBA excursions from the DCL site:

Curacao Dive Tour (4 - 4.5 hours) Explore the mysterious fathoms below! Famed for crystal-clear waters and colorful aquatic life, the reefs and wrecks off the shores of Curaçao are a diver's dream. Your half-day dive adventure begins at the dock, where you'll board a boat for the approximate 30-minute ride to the Marine Park, home to Curaçao's best dive sites. After donning the supplied diving gear, you'll be ready to explore Diver's Leap, a steep wall alive with a variety of colorful corals and fish. Each dive is approximately 50 minutes, with a 1-hour break between dives; during the break, relax while enjoying beverages and snacks on board. The second dive site is Saba, another wall teeming with aquatic flora and fauna, and at the end of the dive, you'll have a chance to explore a fascinating shipwreck-be sure to bring your underwater camera! An approximate 30-minute boat ride brings you back to the dock after your certifiably sensational adventure.

This excursion is for certified divers only; in order to participate, you must present your certification card and have completed at least one dive in the last two years. Guests under medication may not be permitted to dive. Depending on tidal conditions, bus transportation may be provided to and from the dock to the dive site.

Adult Price: $89 (Ages 12 and above)
Child Price: $NA
Departure Times: 8:15 am

Scuba Diving Odyssey (2.5 - 3 hours) Splashdown! Home to a colorful variety of marine life, the waters of the Sea of Cortes and San Lucas Bay are a scuba diver's paradise. After an approximate 10-minute ride to the dive shop for an orientation and equipment, you'll board a skiff for the approximate 1-hour, 35-minute scuba adventure. Upon arrival at the dive site, this 1-tank dive takes you to depths from 25 to 100 feet into the amazing underwater world that surrounds Cabo San Lucas. After your dive, beverages will be served en route to the dive shop before the 10-minute return ride to the pier.

You must have completed a dive in the past 12 months and present a diving certification card to participate in this excursion. The final dive destination will be determined by weather and water conditions.

Adult Price: $79 (Ages 12 and above)
Child Price: $NA
Departure Times:
14N Westbound & 7N West Coast: 9:25 am, 12:30 pm
14N Eastbound: 10:25 am, 1:30 pm

It looks like they will be providing all the equipment; we will be brining our own Mask, Snorkel, Fins, and wet suits. Checking my logbook last May the water temps in the low 80’s. Cabo will be in the low 70’s. Maybe the DCL folks can help clarify what exactly is provided. If I get a chance today I will call DCL and ask.

Normally we bring all our own gear but this trip will be rather outfit intensive so no room for all our gear. Our dive gear averages one very full bag and weighs about 50 pounds, will not be brining our UW camera, decided to get a couple of disposable one for this purpose. Divers direct has one good to 85'.

We will be doing both of these shore excursions.

Kelli tell Billy- Disneynuts are like Harley owners, in that if we have to explain you won't understand.

NEW

Seaulater = Disboard Navigator for this cruise. Now, I'm not coming up with an original idea here, but credit goes to Mark and Mary from the 10 day Christmas Cruise who made the Navigator and delivered to everyone's "fish" for when they arrived at their stateroom door.

I will make up the navigator (for everything we have scheduled prior to the cruise), print, bring, and deliver to everyone. I will also bring extras for the sailaway party(ies).
What Mary did is post the Navigator before we left on her website and then people could print out if they wanted.
So here's what it will list:
1. People's names; location and whether they are playing tag or not..
2. Each day and the schedule of disboard activities for that day.
3. A place for Notes
4. Anything else that might be deemed important.
Updated

NejTheLion = I was thinking about offering to put together a DVD of the cruise - collecting photos and possibly video footage from the cruisers afterwards, making some music videos, slideshows, etc. I'm in the process of desiging and putting up a website doing this, already having done quite a few for assorted family functions. I can make them all spiffy - real cases, color covers, direct color printing on the discs. Nothing that needs to be decided now - just wondering if that's something any of you might be interested in... Email Here Just Click. Cost To Be Determined.

Hey Linda. Having done a diving excursion with DCL before, I can tell you the dive operators know that we are coming from a cruise ship, so they will provide pretty much everything you would need, though some of it may be for an extra cost. I believe that wet suits, for instance, would be an extra cost that you would pay directly to the dive operator.

We are bringing our own wet suits, fins, masks and snorkels. The BC's, tanks, and regulators are definitely included in the price. I believe fins are also included. Not sure about mask and snorkels since we always bring our own.

Hi Scott

I went out to the Divers Direct web page and found the cheap camera. Is this a case of "you get what you pay for" or is this camera really OK. We don't dive very often, but we are doing the Curacao dive (and Dive Quest - but no cameras allowed there) and would like a few pictures.

RE: SCUBA - Per DCL, all gear is included, I will still bring some of our own stuff.

Thanks Kara for sharing your experience with the SCUBA excursions.

The divers direct camera is $19.99, not enough room for our UW camera. It is a large carry on by it’s self.

Peter, I will be making my own chart, I bought a chart of our route and will be plotting our course with my GPS and keeping a log. So this one is all yours, well maybe, will have to see where this bids end at. I might just have to bid it up for you.

I have no experience with the camera we are getting from Divers Direct, it is rated to 85'. I have used the 15' rated ones by Kodak to 35'. We a getting two and will see what we get. It sounds decent to me, just remember the less light the lower the quality of picture you will get. When I get them in about two weeks I will let ya all know what we think.
