The show on the day we leave is the new version of the Welcome Aboard Show. You know, the one where you get to meet the officers. It is supposedly already running on the ships. "Twice Charmed" will take the place of Hercules whenever that would normally show.

We will be planning on getting to the cruise terminal early also, just as long as Scott doesn't keep us out all night at his party Friday night!
..........We plan on getting to the terminal, greeting and hugging our disfriends that we have known forever! It will be just like a big family reunion. Then we will eat Girl Scout cookies and socialize until they let us board the ship!

Bob can race for the hammock! We will race for the front of the line at the cruise terminal. Last one there is a rotten egg!!!!

Linda

Naaaah. I'll let Peter have the hammock. My racing days are over. Rotten egg?
I'll be looking for the Girl Scout cookies!
Guess I'll have to buy a Repo shirt now, so I can get cookies. :rotfl:

The Great Hammock race Has been canceled , Im On Island Time Mon.

Hi,

In case this hasn't already been posted, this site:

http://www.sanpedro.com/spcom/crusshp.htm

is the official site for the San Pedro Cruise Ship Terminal and has a wealth of info. Has the Disney Magic on the arrival calender. Was very helpful in finding nearby car rental agencies.

Poor Tippy.

But cute pictures!!

Randall
Actually, Tippy used to love "dressing up". To her it meant something special was happening or about to. She still gets excited about her harness--it means going somewhere.

Happy Easter everyone!

I really enjoyed the chat :chat: last night. Sorry I couldn't stay longer, but it was dinner time here on the west coast!

Welcome Tony! Glad you are joining us!

I love the doggie EASTER pictures!

DD had fun on her easter egg hunts today! She especially liked all the chocolate!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hope you are all well!

Thanks so much to all of you that are planning all of the events and stuff. I feel like I am riding the coat tails of this crew. I know this will be a great trip!

Opps - it's not 259 people on the name badge list. Technically, it's 258 people and one wonder dog. I'm not sure if Cash wants to be classified as a "people". How about it Lynda, does Cash mind if he gets lumped in with the "people"? I guess I should have just said 259 cruisers. That would take care of the issue.

Ken

This will be his fourth...I guess he's now a mastercruiser....

Bob, My sliding drivers door window needs fixed, possibly this week. It rattles.
Scott, What is the difference between PADI and NAUI? There seems to be a course here down the road for ? about four sessions, could that be right? Plus also, five open water dives. It doesn't sound right. I already have my PADI cert. but was thinking about taking this course with Billy (he is twelve). I don't think that four sessions sounds right.

After lurking for several months, I figure I should finally get around to posting.

This is going to be our third DCL trip. Our first was two years ago, for the WDCC Convention, a lovely three night trip. We both said that trip was too short so booked a seven-night Western trip last October, with a couple of friends.

Even that was too short - we had already booked the Panama cruise, and I was concerned about how long it was going to be. Now I know it should be just right! After we got off the seven-night, we spent a few days at WDW. Everytime we saw one of the busses, I just whined about wanting to get back on.

I am driving my poor wife nuts right now - I'm like a three year old looking towards Christmas. I just want it to be here NOW! :goodvibes I am reading these boards several times a day, grasping all of the little tidbits and pieces of info. I just can't get enough.

I've started packing - pulling together a lot of new clothes and fun. I was lucky enough to win five yards of the Animators Palate vest fabric last October, and part of it is at the tailor shop right now being made into a tuxedo vest for me.

I wanted to thank everyone for all their info - I think I would have been a lot less prepared than we now will be, if I hadn't been able to read all our wisdom.

Thanks again all!

Tony

Ok Tony, why did it take you 452 pages of lurking to come out of the woodwork? Was it something I said at dinner last night ?????

Vicki

Good morning all.

Welcome, Tony.

The Easter Bunny found me in S.C. this year. Surprised me to death. :Pinkbounc - I have all week here to go and miss home already. DH keeps calling and asking where things are at home!!!

Looks like lots of excitement going on with everyone getting ready for our cruise. Everyone is doing so much AN AWESIOME JOB in planning all of the events. I feel like I also am riding the coattails of this cruise. I got an exchange gift also, but someone else has the same thing, so I am saving it for the Sept. DVC cruise.

Is anyone going to WDW for the AK Event the end of April??? If so, let me know - I'll be there and we can meet up. I'll be there from Thurs. to Sunday -the last weekend in April. April 28th - May 1st.

Happy Easter everyone:Sorry we are a bit late but we were out all day.

Ashley & Karen

Yesterday we went to the river Thames to watch the Cambridge v Oxford University boat race.Dont know if you get to hear or see it in the USA ,but it is a very famous rowing race in the UK.

Weather was really miserable though.Grey skies and slight drizzle.

I called DCL to see if the number of our Life Boat Suite had been assigned. Nope not yet. I then asked about schedule of evening activities, No info available was the reply. I then asked about the possibility of a route change. The response was a well you never know, things do change. Made me wonder about this possibility. :confused3

Hi Scott...

What is the upgrade given from the life boats ??? LOL LOL Since we have chaise lounges I guess we could get upgraded to the life boats next.. Thanks for calling, no I do not need to check on our reservation..

Kim

Bill, PADI v. Naui, there are some minor differences, but basically the same. PADI is worldwide and that might be a consideration. What really matters is the Instructor. PADI standards allow for the student to proceed at their pace of learning and mastery of the skills. There are also various independent study options available. I have done classes in three sessions, and some with many more sessions. The average is 4-5 classroom sessions, with 4-5 confined water sessions. My preference when teaching kids is to have them in a class by themselves, with their pears, or in a small group with other family members. Big thing to me is the student’s desire. Sadly we have had students forced into the class by a parent or spouse. This lake of desire lend it’s self to what I call co-dependant divers. Talk to the instructor and get a feel.

PADI has a great CD/ROM program of independent study. At first I did not think I would like it but after doing the class myself , I was sold.

Open water dives, PADI has four Open Water dives with an optional skin dive. Open Water dives must be done over two days.

Hope this helps, any other questions just ask.

Kim, maybe the Life Boat upgrade would be to one on deck 9 near the drink station!!!! But that would be a smaller inflatable model. Maybe you get a life ring with concierge.

Ashley, I remember watching Cambridge v Oxford University boat race on Wide World of Sports. I always enjoyed watching those unique (to the US ) types of events. Prompted my to play rugby, a prop in my younger days I was.

Bob, Try to stay dry!!!!

What's the AK Event at the end of April? My pharmacist asked me (since he knows I LOVE Disney and usually know everything) what was happening at the end of April at WDW since they can't see to get a reservation. I told him I'd check it out but haven't been able to find anything and then I see your post. Please let me know so that I can pass the information on.

Thanks

Elaine
