Wow You Guys!

I just caught up from Easter weekend! Great reading!

We had our 8 year old nephew up, and I got to be a best buddy... it felt GREAT :goodvibes

DH + I also got to be the Easter Bunny. Those of you with children are definitely blessed... BUSY + TIRED, but definitely BLESSED! :goodvibes

Hygiene99: What is "Wicked"? I haven't heard of it before.

Scott: What is the Cruisers Guide DVD? Is this from DCL?

WELCOME TO ALL NEW CRUISERS!

Georgie, It is the promotional DVD from DCL. It's fun and can really get one in the mood for cruising.

We also have some great nephews, 13 and 10, will get to see them this fall.
Hope to get top take them to WDW in April of 2006 for a week. It is a Christmas present for my BIL/sister and da Boyz.

:boat: DH + I will also be doing sailaway gifts... Homemade Luggage Tags!

Actually they are more like Luggage Identification Tags (there's no place to put your name). They use the "Kingdom to Kingdom" theme that Jeff came up with :goodvibes and Disney's FIRST Panama Canal Cruise.

I tried putting them in baggies, complete with Label, but they slid around everywhere. Am thinking of putting them in envelopes with names and stateroom numbers. We haven't decided on the distribition yet... Peter, I'll let you know so you can update your GREAT Update Page! That page is a LIFESAVER!

Galley Annie pirate: and Jolly Joe pirate:

P.S. "Peg Leg Polly", our parrot, will also be joining us for dinner on Pirate night!

Wicked is this great mucial which is based on the Wizard of Oz but takes place before the movie we all know. We have the score from the musical and in fact I was listening to it on my flight Saturday night.

Ok, anyone have any thoughts as to what type of evening shows will be on which night?? For example: Do we expect Disney Dreams to be on the first formal night and Golden Mickeys to be on the second formal night? What about the new show coming on board?

I'm beginning to think about the schedule and need more information! Can't wait until we get on board.

Any new movies slated for Premier either of the weeks we are on? We saw Robots today and everyone was laughing.

And, any news on further route changes?!! I'd love to think about this for a bit. The idea of not getting off the ship for 5 days or so is starting to settle in.

Don't count on any correct information before we board. We found that out on the 10 day Christmas Cruise. And then, once you are on board, it will change again, so just be FLEXIBLE!!!!!!

On the movies, we can call somewhere near the middle to end of April to DCL and the CM can tell us the movies slated for May. On the 10 day Christmas Cruise (sorry to keep referring to that, but our latest experience), since we had 10 nights, they ended up playing The Incredibles at 10 p.m. in the Walt Disney Theater one night and it was packed! That night they did not have a live show, that was the "entertainment" for the evening. Guess the CM's who do the entertaining weren't going to come up with another "live" show. We also had Christy Romano (kids know her) do one night and she sang and then she did a question/answer session and autographs during the middle of the day on a sea day. She was suppose to do Who wants to be a Mousketeer but she got "sick" and backed out. She and her whole family were on the cruise for the whole 10 days. She also went to the 10-12 year old girls "slumber party" in the kids club at 10 p.m. one night and did a question/answer with the girls and hung out casually with them. My DD didn't go, but heard the girls that were there had alot of fun with her and she was really fun.

Okay, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Linda :wizard:

Let's see this is what I heard...

Disney Dreams and Golden Mickeys on days that end in "y"

Formal/semi formal nights only on a night that ends in "t"

Other shows only on nights when the ship is in water. Other nights no shows.

Did they give you anything at the beginning of the cruise that gave a tentative schedule for the entire 10 day cruise? I've only been on the 4 day cruise and I can't remember if we got something for all four days or only knew what to expect from the navigators we received each day.

Another unrelated question... I know some of you are planning to send things down to the Magic so those things will be on board when you get there. Is there anyone in this group who actually has done this before? :earsboy:

Thanks, All 185 # of him, he is a mama's boy and loves to cuddle on your lap... Perhaps we can bring him as our own lifeguard, Newfies are rescue swimmers ... I just counted the calendar only 46 days until we leave, that makes me downright <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm813' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_11_6.gif' border=0></a>
Not enough weekends left to finish getting ready...

Bye, Kim

What's the AK Event at the end of April? My pharmacist asked me (since he knows I LOVE Disney and usually know everything) what was happening at the end of April at WDW since they can't see to get a reservation. I told him I'd check it out but haven't been able to find anything and then I see your post. Please let me know so that I can pass the information on.
Thanks
Elaine

Animal Kingdom Event - it is a pin/merchandise event. Registration was a couple of months ago. Some pins/merchandise is exclusive to the event registrants only. Afterwards some of it is avaialable to the public, as well. It is a two day event - Friday & Sat. and Sunday is public day - for the pins/merchandise that is left over. If you are not into the collectible pins, you wouldn't know about it. Was/is $125.00 to register per person and then the merchandise/pins is on top of that. AK is closed and then we go in for the Event. IT IS LOADS OF FUN AND WE GET LOTS OF FREE GIFTS, AS WELL.

Wellll, maybe since Peter isn't really interrested in that hammock and maybe I can get a big headstart and possibly find a bike and head toward that hammock in a sloooow methodical fashion. :)

It's a big day in South Bend. Not much to do with water or ***** willows. More like sausage, eggs and beer. Dangerous combination, huh?

Welcome to Tony (aphoenix)! Glad you jumped in to join us! Definitely sounds you've found the right crowd. We're also getting VERY excited about this trip.

Kim, you have the SWEETEST puppy dog! Love the picture. I had to call my DH to make him log on and look at the picture. He used to have a Newfie when he was younger and just loves them.

Bob, Tippy is a true trooper. The most I can get away with is the "My Humans went to Walt Disney World and all I got was this bandana" thing. Foster will wear bandanas, but not ears, antlers, and birthday hats (Scott!).

Ours only wear the hats etc when there is a treat involved, after the treat all bets and hats are off.

Dangerous for sure, so one must arm himself :)

IS IT MAY YET!!!!!

Tom, re the Cruising Ports CA-FL. Good source for the person sailing their own boat. Was interesting about the Canal Transit in a small boat. Limited info on the ports we will be visiting. I have a very simular Guide to the Bahamas. Hopefully it will be a good resource for us in retirement.

Well, since we have lots of critter lovers in the group, I have to tell my sob story. We tried out new pet sitters for the weekend. We left the dog at home with our pet sitters. It did not go well...poor puppy lost his mind! The pet sitter called me after we got home and basically begged us to not leave him at home again. He howled and cried the whole time, even when the pet sitters were there with him. I felt terrible for leaving him! He was so exhausted from the stress, he crashed super early last night.

So now we need to go to plan B or C. Plan B is to find someone who will come in and sleep at our house with the dog and two cats. It appears that the dog definitely needs someone with him overnight. And the cats will be better off with that as well.

Plan C is to spend about $73 dollars a day! for the pet care to put the dog in a cageless kennel that he loves to stay at and still have the pet sitters come in to watch the cats...not my favorite plan, but the one that will stress us out the least.
