Does anyone else have any regional or "specific to you" pins? Those would be good ones to bring and exchange. Not sure what else there would be, but I've got a bunch from the Disney Store here in NY. Minnie as the Statue of Liberty for example. Also have Mickey as NYPD and NYFD, but don't have any extras of those left. I was stalked at the Grand Floridian once by a guy who REALLY wanted the FD one. Stopped wearing around pins that I wasn't willing to trade after that. Seemed like a wiser policy

I went through my pins tonight to see which ones I could bear to part with and I only found the limited edition ones I purposely bought doubles of on the 10-day holiday cruise. I traded for the first time on that cruise when I was followed to my stateroom by a determined 10-year-old who, for once, was only mildly interested in my dog...She wanted to trade pins...I traded her 3 to 1 for some extra limited edition pins I had bought but I only ended up with, among others, a baby lion king pin for Cash to wear and a Mickey retirement pin...I wish that young man who had promised me a certain red/gold circle-shaped smiling Mickey face pin hadn't traded it away to someone else.....Oh, well, maybe I'll bring my pins and just leave Pal Mickey, on whose lanyard they hang, at home. He needs a rest...

Wow lots to catch up on just from this afternoon! Enjoying the snow here.

Book swap sounds good to me! Is anyone reading the Path Between the Seas? That book is sooo long and sooo few pictures! I am oh, 180 pages or so into it. I get to read it for 90 minutes a night at the gym... It's a really good book though. I don't wanna know anything more about de Lesseps though. And I haven't even gotten to the French failing yet...ugh. I wanna say ARE WE THERE YET???

Who else is exercising/dieting for the cruise? Bought some smaller clothes that don't quite fit but will in a short time. Of course by the time May gets here then none of my suits or jackets will fit. Oh well, time for a new wardrobe anyway! I hope to start tanning in a few weeks, but I have NO time for that between jobs so wish me luck. I prefer not to be the brightest (white) star on the ship when I get there...

I read Path Between the Seas last year when ScottH and others were talking about it (somewhere around post #100) then handed it off to my baby brother when he got all riled up about the canal now being in the hands of the Communist Chinese...(My brother the hysteric???).... I learned enough about the canal to know that I sure don't want to be anywhere near it in the month of August... I managed to lose about 15 pounds then I sort of stalled...I really don't expect to lose enough to fit into those snakeskin-tight zazzle or cafe press tops... Would like to lose about 20 more...ooo, slinkey!

Just when I thought everything was half way set and sorta figured out, I woke up in the middle of the night and thought - i can't drive my car to Port Cavernal - I am returning home to Ft. Lauderdale from LA
So I will have to figure how to get there another way -
I just might have to go to WDW on 5/13 and to the ship from there - and then it is a 45 minute drive by Mears or limo. Oh well - something else to figure out - but then maybe my housekeeper just might have to drive me up and come back in one day. It'll work out

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Everybody here is still asleep. You better be ready to keep me company in the AM when I go to topsiders for an early breakfast. Scott says he will also. Does Harry get up early? Isn't this whole thing great? Hard to believe only 75 or so days left. It is going to be tough getting our house and medical office ready for us to leave. We have to keep in touch through the internet in order to keep it from falling apart.

Harry is not an early riser most of the time. He sleeps in until about 8 or so. I get up around 6, if not before. Especially since I have been ill, I hardly sleep at all most of the time.

Are you going to be at WDW before Saturday, 5/14?? Where are you staying and what are your plans??

Up feeding the animals now and getting them quieted for the morning. Waiting on the windown people to finish putting in my new impact/storm windows today also.

YEA, OF COURSE, I AM EXCITED - IT SCARES ME - IT IS KEEPING ME GOING AND I LOVE IT - - like a new chapter in my life

Steve- in all our previous Disney Cruises where points have been used we have never received any shore excursion info. Might be due to the reservation having been made through DVC acting kind of like a travel agent. Info here on the DIS board has kept us up to speed, might give MS a call.

RE Pin Trading: I thought it got started with the Olympics, where people would trade team and country pins. I kinda remember reading something about this.

Exercise –yes , diet kinda, would like to drop some before my PT test on May 3. Will make the run and agility portions easier. Would like to be at 185 before the cruise. To be a lean mean cruising machine, in a grass skirt. LOL

I really enjoyed Path Between the Seas, actually took notes so as to take along on the cruise. The whole US involvement and the little things that happened during the independence movement of Panama were very interesting. The medical info was very enlightening. Must be the historian in me, one of my BA’s is in US History other is in Religion, MA in Environmental Ed.

Bill – I will be there for coffee as I will have to wait for Lynn to have breakfast, actually I am one of those vultures who will be at the coffee station waiting for the caffeine. Kinda sweaty at that time as I usually have just finished a run. Lynn says she will be getting up with me to walk , right…. I will believe when I see.

I know this will come as a complete surprise to everyone, but one of my interests is improv comedy. Since DCL took the improv out of Off-Beat, it's up to us to bring improv back to the Magic. So, I'll be "hosting" some improv games on one of the at sea days TBD. Anyone interested? No experience necessary. It's just for fun. Audience members needed, too, but a minimum drink requirement may be imposed to enhance the comedic value of participants.

Seaulater = Disboard Navigator for this cruise. Now, I'm not coming up with an original idea here, but credit goes to Mark and Mary from the 10 day Christmas Cruise who made the Navigator and delivered to everyone's "fish" for when they arrived at their stateroom door.

I will make up the navigator (for everything we have scheduled prior to the cruise), print, bring, and deliver to everyone. I will also bring extras for the sailaway party(ies).
What Mary did is post the Navigator before we left on her website and then people could print out if they wanted.
So here's what it will list:
1. People's names; location and whether they are playing tag or not..
2. Each day and the schedule of disboard activities for that day.
3. A place for Notes
4. Anything else that might be deemed important.

NejTheLion = I was thinking about offering to put together a DVD of the cruise - collecting photos and possibly video footage from the cruisers afterwards, making some music videos, slideshows, etc. I'm in the process of desiging and putting up a website doing this, already having done quite a few for assorted family functions. I can make them all spiffy - real cases, color covers, direct color printing on the discs. Ron Jons and the Radisson, no official meets have been Set up as of yet but Look for folks all day around the pool area's also several others at the Airport hyatt and plans are in works.

Made our plane reservations today!

We actually got very good rates through expedia for our multidestination trip. We were waiting to get confirmation from DD's teacher that she could take exams one week early before we committed to plane tickets. We plan to pay off the cruise tomorrow and make some reservations for excursions. Does anyone know if any of them are booked up already?

I made most of my shore excursions on the first day. I still have not paid off the cruise. I will pay off next week. They didn't even question me when I booked excursions whether I was paid or not.

Wow! They let you book your excursions without having paid off your cruise? We paid ours off 3 days ahead of that just so we could book our excursions. Wish I had known!

I'm just glad we got what we wanted, because I was on hold forever when I called at 9:00 and couldn't hold any longer because I had to leave for church. So I got on the phone immediately after church, and had no problems getting what we wanted. Yay!

I just got off booking the one excursion I wanted for my DH and DS -- they are doing double jet ski on Castaway Cay at 1:00! Perfect.

I am still looking for the perfect snorkeling (catamarin) in the other areas. And, I need to start to reserach the cliff diving in Acapulco on our own. Can anyone share some of the 'on their own' secrets to these Mexican ports?

Was anyone successful in booking Rande's horses? I thought I got an email from here saying she was booked -- I may try again.

FYI for you all staying at GC after the cruise, The business center at this resort has shipping service available. It is FedX and they have boxes etc.

We will be shipping stuff home for sure, getting rid of formal clothes and the grass skirt, and pirate outfit, etc.

Do they do FedEx ground? That's the cheapest! I try and buy as much at one time when in the parks and use their shipping, but Disneyland is a lot more expensive shipping than Disney World.

Oh I have great floor plans of GC and everything about its services. I think I will put in a request for specific rooms. I have a concierge/park view and a Downtown Disney view.

I really didn't want to schlep all the pins... Joe is NOT happy if I bring pins because he usually has to carry them...LOL I was going to bring a small bag, maybe my pin backpack... with a mix of pins.... but maybe we can do a Mystery swap or something if enough people are interested.

I'm not sure how many horses Randi has - but afraid we may be part of the problem.

I e-mailed her quite awhile ago asking for more details and she offered to hold spots for us. I just paid off the cruise this morning and let her know we are a definite yes for the horse back ride.

I booked a couple of things there today as well.

We may need to look into some other things on our own as well. (Thinking Acapulco too) Our 6 year old doesn't meet the DCL age requirement on a lot of things she would love to do.

Just an FYI - the gal I talked to at DCL was telling me that the way their computers are set up two agents can't be booking the same excursion at the same time - so I'm wondering if sometimes when we're told an excursion is not available - it might just be that another agent is booking it for someone else right then. Certainly couldn't hurt to check back several times just to be sure.

We've never traded... we just seem to keep buying and buying

They did have a special pin for those on the Maiden Voyage for the MAGIC, but ran out the first night! Since they can't officially open the store doors before they get out a certain distance at sea, due to being at dinner, we missed out getting one (unless we wanted to pay high $ on E-Bay).

I hope they at least bring an allotment based on the number of cruisers and then put a limit so everyone will have a fair chance of buying at least one

For 2 people who don't consider themselves to be pin collectors, we sure do have a lot of them

Scott: Thanks for the update on Fed Ex. That will be the way to go for us. We were talking about packing some extra soft suitcases, but, if we can mail some things back home, that might be the way to go!
