*2005* Dates Are Posted on disneycruise.com!!!!!

At the Castaway Club reception on the 2/7/04 cruise that we just returned from, Captain Tom said an announcement would be made in March. As has been mentioned many times before and confirmed by one of the senior officers at this reception, if a third ship were in fact being built it would be very difficult to hide. He said that given the fact that the Euro dollar was so high and other Disney ventures were not doing well, the actual building of the ship was postponed. Therefore, I think it is safe to assume that the announcement will involve moving the ship to California for the 50th anniversary. Hooray for all of us west coasters

No news to report yet! Donna was rather taken aback when I said that I already knew all the 2005 dates were announced except between May 7 and Sept 7. I insisted that I was only interested in that time frame. She admitted to being rather vague about the whole thing. Yet, her facial expressions and her alluding(sp?) to a new special itinerary for the summer, I would say that we might just be right. I kept questioning her, and she says "they are all waiting for the announcement" All of this was said with a smile. So who knows............ I plan to continue to question every cm that talks to me.

Donna did say that if I booked another date onboard, I could move the date, but the 10% savings and $200 stateroom credit would ONLY apply to the current Eastern or Western itinerary, NOT for the special one to be announced. I said that was really not fair, after 5 cruises with DCL, they should at least offer the stateroom credit. She then said maybe, but the special itinerary would no doubt be more $ than the current Eastern or Western. The 10% for sure would not apply. The castaway club member booking time with her is tomorrow night, so I will again question her some more.

Time to get all dressed up for formal night and the Golden Mickey's

CAMickey,

I now live in Connecticut. I was born and raised in Pacific Palisades. Moved to the freezing northeast in 1981 ( I ought to have my head examined)

We went to Disneyland often for just the day. Once a year during July, we would spend a week at the Disneyland Hotel thanks to Grandpa and Grandma.

That is very interesting about the 10%. I questioned her and she said that if I book onboard and move my dates later, the 10% would be deducted off whatever the rate is for the date I want! And, I keep the $200 onboard credit. I'm waiting for a May 2005 date and I will be really MAD if I don't keep the 10% discount. They have been keeping my deposit this long, it only seems fair to give me the 10% discount on any booking.

Thanks for updating us. Did she allude (sp?) to where these summer dates would go??

Thanks -

Sandra

Have fun at the Golden Mickey's show. Last year when we rebooked onboard for this August, we were given a 10% discount and a $400 per stateroom onboard credit.

Yes, I have that same special, Andy - it's nice to know that we will have money in our pockets for a change!!!

I think that Donna's alluding to a special itinerary might be what we are waiting for, but then again, we could be looking at another 10 day in the Caribbean cruise, or the special ones this summer at San Juan and Anguilla. But NO, I'm not going to even think that way!!!!

May 2004 announcement about Disneyland's 50th Birthday???

May 2004 announcement about DCL summer 2005 cruises???

Could these just be a coincidence???

Oh, no, Andy - this is just in OUR minds because we want them!!
What a great marketing tool for Disney at a time when it needs a BIG boost!

I'm sure they will honor your booking regardless of what happens. If they do a special itenerary for the summer, I'm sure it will not include the may 7-14 as that has been available on the website.

:sunny: The rates and dates for the 3 and 4 night cruise go all the way till the end of the year. I was just on and it would let me go all the way till the end of the year. Would not let me do a 7 day.

Clue me in...Is the general thought that the Magic will be doing 7 night Mexican Riviera cruises or 3 and 4 night Catalina Island/Ensenada itineraries? I'm kind of hoping for the 3 and 4 night, giving us time to tie in a trip to Disneyland! Wouldn't that be the point of re-positioning?

:sunny: Yes, it is my understanding that you do not see the 7 day on line but if you call they will give you a rate?

I'm starting to believe the rumors of the temporary repositioning of the Disney Magic to Southern California. The rumor has appeared many places — but there's never any indication of whether the Disney Magic would do 3- and 4-night cruises, or 7-night cruises, or some combination of the two.

Just because the Disney Magic provides 7-night cruises into the Caribbean from Port Canaveral doesn't mean that the Disney Magic has to provide 7-night cruises from Southern California.

It makes sense to do 3- and 4-night cruises in combination with Disneyland 50th Anniversary stays — but then the foreign port (to comply with the Passenger Services Act of 1886) would have to be Ensenada, because there wouldn't be time to traval all the way to the Mexican Riviera. Ensenada does not enjoy a particularly positive reputation.

A 7-night itinerary would allow the Magic to go all the way to Mexican Riviera ports, such as Puerto Vallarta, Matzatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.

In either case, I'd like to think that Disney has leased a private beach on the Baja California coast, and that they'll offer a Mexican beach day that's similar to the Bahamian beach day at Castaway Cay.

I guess we'll learn the real story in May (or sooner if we're lucky).

I was just at the web site and it gave me rates for the Sept.-Dec. 2005 7-day sailings. I didn't try to make a reservation, but I'd assume that would have gone through. Looks like similar Value and Early Booking rates as we've seen for Sept.-Dec. 2004.

This has been the first good news I have heard all day. The water pump broke in our van, the clothes dryer won't heat up and my uncle is dying. So I needed to get some good news. I plan on call the TA as soon as I can. We want to book a 7 day in Oct of 2005. I can't believe that they are finally releasing the dates. YES!

Oh to feel the sea breeze in my hair and to wiggle my toes in the sand of Castaway Cay.
