Well, I was good - I was going to post the other night on the main board on the thread titled Oceaneers Lab/Worst 25 minutes of my life..... I thought better of it... IT's a good thing I did - as the thread is quite heated at the moment.... Oh well....

It's a warm wonderful 2 degrees here in Charleston... hope that everybody is staying warm...

Terese, our girl scouts picked Italy as their thinking day country, and they need to make a snack for the girls. Biscotti sounds like a good option (doesn't need to be kept hot or cold, and we can make it in bite sized pieces). Do you mind sharing a recipe or two??? Pretty please?? For my sweet little girl scouts?

Thanks!!!! Lisa

Happy Monday all. We survived the storm much better than Therese, Gail, Sue, and pirate cutie. We probably only got 2 inches of snow, followed by about 2 inches of ice. DS did go on his tent camping trip. He did fine apparently. They closed the park mid-day Saturday, so he was home by 1:30. I guess that area got about 8 inches of snow (the stuff we got as freezing rain, they got as snow). Saturday night, they officially closed our schools for Monday, which I thought was really weird! So the kids are home today with DH.

DD and I went out selling cookies yesterday. I think she got a few sympathy orders, since it was only 19 degrees! I did drive her to the houses, since it was too cold to walk door to door. She's going to take orders from DS's boy scout troop people tomorrow, then turn it in Wednesday. The girls have decided that within 3 years, they want to take a Disney cruise, with a couple of days at WDW tacked on. My planning budget for them is $1000. Does that sound about right for 2-3 girls in a cat 10 room? 4 day Wonder in the summertime, followed by 2-3 nights at WDW probably in a value resort (unless I can rent points for a good price!) They'll all be adult price for the cruise.

I finally got our home internet working again late yesterday. I have no idea what fixed it, but I'm not arguing!! I did get photo CDs made for the people who pm'd me. I'll try to mail them tomorrow.

That's about all the news from here. Off to check the main board, and see what the issue was in the kids clubs!

I paraphrased the situation to KT and asked her what she thought. She thought the mom was wrong. That "had she checked the navigator, she would have seen that you can't check in or out during transition and that there is NO checking in or out during the movie."

It's come up before for us b/c we'd have to get the kids to the club/lab dinner in order for them to go to the movie...once the dinner was over, there was no way to get them in or our of the club/lab. It takes a little more planning.

Can't help you with the numbers, but doesn't at least one adult have to be booked in every room with kids? The adult doesn't have to actually STAY in that room, but there has to be some sort of ratio. Just something to keep in mind as your planning.

Good Morning! What's that I hear? Something about "shouldn't you be at work" ....yes..I'm going....

I read that thread about the Clubs, too.....I can see where if it was your first cruise, you maybe wouldn't think to look at the Navigator. I think a lot of people think it's open all the time. But I also think that they probably did explain some things to her, but she was a little too upset to "listen"....

I'm going to say one last thing about the wine party...and then never mention it again....
Charlotte helped pay, too.....so THANK YOU CHARLOTTE!...and she didn't get to go, her hubby was sick and needed her. Awwwww........
So, when you consider that it was split 4 ways.....it wasn't very expensive at all...in fact, it was minimal.
I'm certain it was nothing compared to the amount of time and money that Mark & Mary put in, making buttons, the mini-navs, newsletters....and all of it! A huge thank you to Mark and Mary for all of their hard work!!
And to gaRry for the t-shirts and the ornaments......
And to Virgil for the other ornaments.......
And to Tina for the goodie bags.......
And to Pam for the other goodie bags.....

Making this cruise THE BEST took a lot of thought and effort and caring by all of us, all of you.....not just one person. If we had been missing any one of us, the fun would have been lessened.....
So THANK YOU.....all of you....for the trip of a life time!!!

Stacey

Thank you to everyone for helping out with the wine party. Stacey - I'm just a little angry (okay, not really angry, but sad) that you didn't tell us. You know we would have loved to help out. I had so many other things on my mind, that it never occurred to me. Shame on me!

I haven't posted lately because I just haven't had the time, what with going to the beach quite frequently and all. Plus planting all of my spring flowers in the flower beds has been taking up alot of my time.

Yes, there does have to be one person over 18 booked into each room. But since the girls are all adult price, I'm just thinking cost per person. I'm still working through how to address the adult's costs. I just wanted to give the girls a ball park idea of how much they need to save each year (it's a 3 year goal for them). Once we get further into the plan, I'll work out exactly how many adults we'll need, and what we'll expect the adults to pay for, vs. what the girls pay for.

Sure, not a problem - but there are many other cookies that are fun and less time consuming - biscotti's are twice baked.

One off the top of my head that me niece Loves to make (she started making them when she was 11) are italian orange juice cookies - they are a drop cookie with a great icing and then you dip them in the confetti sprinkles!

send me an email and I would love to help you out!

Stacey-thanks you're awesome!
And everyone else too for making this the best Christmas Cruise of a lifetime!!!!

Our group for the PC definitely isn't as big as this one ended up being. It should be much more manageable!

Okay, on to my next post.

Linda

OKAY, SO I'M SLOW......KINDA LIKE EEYORE!!!!

But, with that said, and after looking through literally thousands of pictures we took with all of our family cameras, downloading, sorting, and deleting......

I think I just about have a CD of pictures for those that would like one. I have tried to take out alot of our family stuff so you won't be bored to death, but I think I can get it all on one CD. If not, well, you'll be getting two.

So, please PM me name and address if you would like a copy. I'll try to get copied and out in the mail to you by this coming weekend.

Have a great week everyone and dress warm for all you easteners!

Linda

Stacey-got the CD of pictures from you. Your camera is awesome! Don't worry about the blurry ones. We've had our camera for over a year and we still haven't learned some of those things. It is such a learning process. But hopefully we are getting a little better!!

I've got your address, so I'll drop the CD off to you. Did you start scrapbooking yet?

I got 6 pages done this weekend in the little amount of time I had! My goal is to have it done before the PC cruise in May and take it with me to share!

Linda
