Gus - The next indoor RV show here is mid Feb. I don't know if I will buy anything then. I am not sure how much camping I could with Jeanne. And the lite and ultra lite are changing every year with improvements. Did you get yours new or used? Great deals on the older 'hybrids'.

I just got the Disney Annual Report and no pins for me or DM (separate accounts). Wonder if we don't hold enough shares.

We didn't get a pin either, Sue. DD owns a whopping 30 shares. The annual report is interesting reading, though, I even saw her reading it!
::yes::

Sharon thinks we are going camping this weekend. Since we are staying at a Marriott and not on DCL we are going camping. Anything short of DCL is camping, in her mind!

Bought it new..........

Since DW is a cottage girl, so wants it parked for the summer somewhere so that she can drive the car to it with the kids.
Me.....I'd like to travel with it and check out new and different things.

I like Algonquin Park. It is very big. Huge as a matter of fact.
We see a lot moose every time we go there.
Very tame, you can walk right up to them and they will not run away. Beautiful.
In August at night, they conduct an organized Wolf howl with about 1000 people or more.
A naturalist will howl in a specified location and make wolves with their little ones respond. Very nice.
There are lots of rivers to canoe in and portage if you are so desire.
Lots of hiking trails.
I love it there and so do the kids.

I have nothing booked as of yet, I must now plan ahead.

Finally got the computer back today.
Still a few things wrong, but at least I am up and running.

It sounds like a great place. When growing up in MI we did a lot of camping through Canada. I really do miss the great wilderness you have access to.

my DS found out the answer to this one! The pins were given to Cast members who also own stock!

I typed out a reply yesterday, then lost it.

It was sparked by the camper/camping discussion. My college roommate got in touch with me, and we worked out a summertime get together. She and her family are going to be camping in their camper, crossing from MI to Niagra Falls, then through Maine, down to Cape Cod, on to Gettysburg (where we'll probably meet up with them), then the Virginia/MD battlefields like Antietam, Bull Run, Manassas, etc. DH was groaning about how they're going to be living in luxury while we're tent camping. My answer is that we'll have hot showers and flush toilets, so what's he griping about? And since we're not scout camping, we can sleep on cots if we want.

It is funny, because this is the man who camped for deer hunting in some really nasty conditions when we first met. But the last time he hunted, he stayed in a local motel. Old age catching up I guess???

Anyway, Gus, enjoy the camper!

That really sounds interesting!!

I can sympathize a bit. I used to go backpacking quite a bit in the "younger days". Different priorities and not enough time to get it all in are all working against me. Plus, that and if I went backpacking I would be doing it by myself..... :rotfl:

Yeah, I'm with Sharon on the camping issue. A three star hotel is roughing it. DD is even worse, she's been spoiled by DVC. Hotel rooms should have kitchenettes, according to her. Nice beds are very important too.

Lisa, your trip sounds great. Do you know anyone you can borrow a trailer from? We were going to use my brother's for a trip once, but it didn't happen.

We'll only be camping 3 days at most, so the tent will be fine for us. If we were going to do a large trip, I'd look into renting a trailer. We actually can do this through the rec facilities on our Navy base, which is kind of nice.

My friend works for GM, and they go through a plant shutdown every summer for model turnover. So they'll leave MI in late Jun, and won't be back until like the 20th of July. DS has Boy Scout camp the week of July 4th, so we won't meet up with them until the 10th. They'll need to be on the road home by the 16th, and the plan is that they'll come down to our house for a couple of days.

I told her that they should plan their route/itinerary, and we'll just join them wherever they are on the 10th. So we may go to Gettysburg (which will include a trip to Hershey Park), or we may just do the Anteitam/Bull Run, etc. stuff. I am looking forward to it though. We haven't gotten together in about 5 years so it will be good to catch up!

We have only been back your way once, Lisa. Made it to Gettysburg. From the sound of your post we were very near Hershey??? ARGH!!!

Just a really quick hello...it's past my bedtime. They have me eating dinner at 5:30....next thing you know I will be in bed by 8!
I hoping there's truth to "Early to bed, early to rise"...........

All is well here, haven't frozen or freaked yet! I must be getting better.
I have been promised SUN :sunny: for tomorrow!!

Talk to you all later.

Diana....tell Alicia that she hasn't really hit the big time until she gets the idea of a room with a kitchenette out of her head! That's what room service is for!!;)

Do you ever think about doing it again?

Sure! I actually liked the process a lot! When the boys (my sons) were around we went several times. There are some excellent spots up North in the Pecos Wilderness that are beautiful.

Now you've got me thinking....... backpacking or diving...... ummmm???????

Shhh! We haven't told her that ALL hotels have room service! Just the ship, where it's "free". ;)
