I still haven't gotten to the library. did pick up a paper back at the Curves lending shelf. I read about 40 pages and it is SVU(oops) meets CSI. too gory for me. I do like Nevada Barr mysteries but she doesn't have any new ones out.

I picked up a few books to bring. My list is not very long. I will have my laptop on board with me so I can probably even update it there (I just wont be able to decorate it with pictures of books I slide over from amazon.com since the sHip has no wireless...) (whine whine whine)

The difference between a scrapbook and a photo album is that a scrapbook should tell a story. That's why it is about more than just pictures. That's why I try and keep everything and bring it home. You just never know what will add to the page.

Another thing I always do is carry a small paper notebook with me. I try and make notes in it each night. What we did etc. Then when I'm trying to get pages together I look through those notes and decide how many pages I want to dedicate to a given day, or a given event.

Hope this helps anyone who wants to get started.

I bring a plastic box with me to collect all the Navigators and anything else that I think I want to use in the scrapbook. I save everything. Brochures from places we visit (like the butterfly museum in Key West), our KTTW cards, our dining tickets, everything.

That's a great idea. This is our third Disney cruise but our last one was 4 years ago and I wish we still had all those momentos.

I called to reserve the 2006 Holiday Cruise and it is A LOT more expensive than this one. Anyone have special ideas to get a good deal?

I am almost afraid to ask because I bet it would be the kind of thing I would start and 6 hours later I would realize 6 hours went by and al the things I should have been doing didn't get done...

For me, that's called "THE DIS" ;)

more specifically, THIS thread!

Are you giving her a camera to take with her?

She'll have a disposable (read as "junk") She got her iPod for Christmas, Nick got a digital camera. Maybe one day he'll let her borrow it and get some good digital pictures!

Our's don't even get printed. We use digital and they just stay on the computer.

Ours don't anymore. The printed ones are the ones from when I got my first camera (middle school age) until 2000 when we got our first digital. I think my regular camera actually still has film in it that hasn't been processed. Wonder what is on THAT roll!!!

TOPshared with Mr. Scuba! :)

We could discuss a group rate. I believe 8 cabins are needed to get the 'deal'.

I always promise myself I'm going to do this. If for nothing else than to make a trip report. But I'm always too busy to stop and DO it. Then things get muddled in my mind (doesn't take much) and I forget things.

Well we would want 2 rooms so that is only 6 more... :D

How much of a deal do you think it is? I got a quote from Dreams Unlimited and for a family of 5 they could not get me on board for less than 50% more than this cruise.

Maybe we should look at DVC...?

OK so I uploaded 4 more pictures (thanks to Mark for doing the scanning for me). These were done using more conventional scrapbooking. I show how we used our KTTW cards, dining ticket, and even a gift card I got from Mark. Enjoy!

Food for thought - many DVC members feel that using your points to cruise is not a good value. With DCL prices going up every year the points will too. Just thought you should now. I love DVC and I think it is the best thing we ever did - but I wouldn't buy into it just to cruise.

I usually do it right before I go to bed. Now part of that is that Mark and I are not really night people. Mark unwinds reading a book and I take a few minutes to jot down the notes of the day.

Looks great!!! :Pinkbounc

How cool is this - search is working. Better yet you can search an individual thread. Look up at the top for Seach this thread. Very cool!

Karen,
Me too! I found it the other day when I was looking for a blank tape for the video camera. I also found an unused roll of film.

Hey Everyone!!
sorry I haven't been posting much this week. Monday night after my first day back to work I attended a Womens Focus group. Our hospital has been going through some major changes with a new CEO/ updating our strategic plan. They gathered about 50 women from various area's of the community to "brainstorm" on our view of what women's health needs and how we can best meet those needs working with various agencies in the community. It was very exciting but made for a very long day.

Tues eve was major errands - DH was working so I was taking DS to dive center in south Toledo to have fun dive (get in mood for Cruise) - but first had to get his allergy shot feed horses, pick up DD's cheer shoes (first basketball game) order DD's varsity jacket, check on shirt status (all is going well and on schedule) try to catch up on multiple pages of posts -
