WOW big scary fire in a building downtown. It's on the 35th floor and they're having a very hard time containing it.

Just saw live shots of them on roofs across the street trying to put it out from the outside.

News Flash from my area (yes, it doesn't happen often, but apparently, we're on CNN. I haven't checked that cause I'm too busy DISSING!)

A coworker of mine is a volunteer fireman, and he spent all day yesterday fighting fires set by Eco-Terrorists in Indian Head MD (as the crow flies, that's about 40 miles NW of me, but it's about 10 miles from our first Maryland house). Apparently, a new development of upscale houses (I'm visualizing McMansions here) was put onto a former wetlands area, and a group of eco-terrorists set the whole section on fire. Apparently only one house in the development was occupied. 45 houses were damaged or destroyed. I never would have thought that we would get eco-terrorists here in sleepy Southern Maryland.

Why the US Navy is better than the Iraqi Navy

Karen, that is soooooo great. But I can tell you those Navy guys don't work here with me!!!! Now some of our Marines are in that kind of shape, but I can only think of maybe 2-3 of our Navy guys that even come close!

Is anyone bringing rubbing alcohol?

I am going to need it to remove my temporary tattoos...from Pirate night. I don't think anything will get rid of the real one.

Aren't you glad I specified why I needed it?

We usually bring alcohol pads. They're by the diabetic supplies. Much easier to transport than a bottle full of liquid.

Okay, I'm caught up now. And I got to talk to myself a bunch this morning!

Took the kids to spend their Christmas money from the grandparents last night. DS bought the gameboy advance something. He's playing it lots! Should make the flights go better. DD hasn't decided what she wants to buy yet. This morning, she said that she thinks she'll get the gameboy too, because they apparently have a Danny Phantom game? I'm trying to talk her out of it, because she really isn't a video game kind of person, but not sure how it will turn out.

Here's hoping that everyone has a great day today! I'll check in around noon to see what's going on.

and we are going to do our Christmas on Sunday. So I need to get all this done.

We decided last night to do our celebration TODAY!!! We looked ahead to the weekend and between performances, plays, mike being on call, ballet, a ballet get together, and church we decided it would just be too rushed.

So, this afternoon we go out for haircuts and a couple of errands. Then come home and wrap and turn around and open it all!!

Luckily, wrapping is a breeze as a few years ago I made cloth bags with Christmas material. Zip-Zap-Zing, throw the gift in, tie a ribbon around it and it's DONE! The lucky person who gets my ornament will more than likely get a bag to boot!

We need to stop calling Debbie about dining......(if you're not linked and not part of the groups sitting together - fine call on your own)

Debbie called me yesterday. I have NO idea why she picked me. I've never spoken to her before in my life!! She was asking if I wanted everyone moved to main dining along with Paul and I said she'd need to call everyone and ask them, that I wasn't going to make that decision. She told me there were "way too many people to call."

I'll sit wherever I have to sit to get food! I'd love to be around all the DIS-ers, but it won't ruin my vacation if I'm not.

Good Morning Everyone!

Wow I wish I hadn't been so exhausted last night. Missed a good time.Thanks for the laughs this morning though.

Both kids woke up this morning not feeling well. Kristen ended up staying home. Probably not the best choice since she will be missing 3 1/2 days for the trip, but don't want her getting worse.

It is a rainy, cold miserable day. I have the furnace guy coming at 10 for a check up. Our humidifier doesn't seem to be working.

Was planning on running to Walmart. Maybe I will pick up some gift cards. What amount did most of you get? $10?

Good point about wrapping. I just shipped our ornament in the box going to the Scuba's. I'll have to make sure and pack a gift bag or wrapping paper for it. This is going to be such fun!

I agree with Virgil - I think Debbie needs a vacation. Look at how many people have talked to her from just this cruise and there are all the other cruises as well.

I think Stacey has it well under control with Amy. Hopefully there won't be too many more changes. Stacey has gotten Amy to do some wonderful things for us and we don't want to wear out our welcome.

Oh, I know, I was just shocked and amazed that she would call ME. Why me? I'm a nobody!! I've never contacted her or anything. Maybe that's why she picked me....figured I'd have a fresh look at things. Too bad I couldn't help!

Boy, I just can't keep up with you all anymore! I'm missing from the list...I share a birthday with Karen - 12/28.

Virgil, I'm so jealous that you are thinking of your wife for a special celebration on board! My DH isn't creative at all! We are second seating, but I think a different dining rotation than you all...but we could sneak away to sing if we know when to show up!

GRRRRRR. Just got an email from our dear friends. Well, the dh is our dear friend. We tolerate the wife.

Seems that this Friday night, of the TWELVE public performances Nick had or has, is the ONLY one they could make it to---but now their 5 yr old just got a birthday party invite from a "dear little girl in her class." This "dear little girl" that has only been in the picture since September. This "dear little girl" who's mother is so rude that she gave a 3 day warning for a birthday party on a Friday evening during the mad-rush of the holiday season.

I'm just saying over and over....WHATEVER!

This isn't like a 2nd grade play at school. I'd never even THINK of inviting anyone to that--I probably wouldn't even invite the grandparents to stuff like that.

Ok, off my soapbox now.

okay, just spoke with DCL/dining Debbie and we are set for early dining. Debbie and Amy were mixing us up, that is early and late. As of approx 9:25 am 12/7 Debbie has Sue and linked cruisers for early and Amy has Stacey and linked cuisers for late.
