I set someone up for a really nice TOP...who was it??

WOW! Can't believe no one snuck in there!

Me too! (at getting to 17,000)

Tried to grab a top but Karen was too fast!

Oh goodness, yes!! I just looked at the post count and there are less than 200 posts to go till 17,000. It's only MONDAY! We'll be there by Wednesday at the latest!

Who called it?

For many, many years, we went to some friends' house (they've moved away) and we used to deep fry the turkey. Back before it became "popular". Jay made the big pot that we cooked the turkeys in. Those were some gooooood turkeys!

We've done the turkey in a Nesco roaster the last few years, a great deal more tender and moist turkey to oven cooking and very easy cleanup too. :)

That would have been a sight to see. Any photographer worth his salt would've at least saved the camera!!

Mary...I think we can get to 17,000 by tomorrow night.
Oh wait....I have to work tomorrow. Darn.

I want my documents!!!

The boys are watching Antiques Roadshow....I need to go to more estate sales. I could buy a cruise ship with some of the things these people have. But most of it is so ugly, you would never think it was worth anything.

We watched the World Poker last night with the showdown between Trading Spaces and Orange County Choppers. Pretty good.

Staying at Ron Jon's 16th and 17th

Does Ron Jons have a place to stay? We are planning on leaving Charleston at 4 am and getting to Port Canaveral in time for a 10:30 boarding. We may have to leave Friday night and stay somewhere on the way to get there by 10:30...

One other item of interest to all, we were looking for some decorations for our stateroom tree and came across the Mickey Candy Canes at Eckerd. There are also Mickey shaped mints for your stocking stuffing pleasure.

Please elaborate. We don't have Eckard's by us.

That's what I'm using! I have double ovens, but they'll be full of other stuff, and the roaster is great.
And I know that, because the friends who have had Thanksgiving for the last four years have borrowed the roaster. Guess what I'm giving them for a housewarming gift???

Your used Nesco roaster?

I feel left out. I don't have a Nesco roaster. ;) Will it cook Kraft Macaroni and Cheese? ;)

Yes, Ron Jons apparently has some hotel there now. I've not stayed there, but I've heard it's nice.

I would consider leaving Friday night. The rule is always "come in the day before you sail." That allows for any unforseen emergencies. Missing the ship is bad bad bad.

Well, Matt and I are all packed and ready to go....to Costa Rica tomorrow. Three days of white water rafting in the rain forest.

DW is looking forward to being home along with DD to get the really serious packing done....for the cruise.

Until Saturday....

Have FUN you guys!! You better not break anything!!

Ok, I MUST go to bed. Early morning for us tomorrow and long day. So long that Mike has blocked out some spots around lunch so that he can come home, let the dog out, then go back to work.

nite all....sleep tight!

Ron Jon's is in Port Canaveral.

The exterior was very nice when we drove by it last March.

It has a Lazy River and water slides and theaters for the kids.

We paid $75.00/night for a 1 bedroom suite.

We must endure a 90 minute presentation while we are there.

DW is bringing the duct tape for my mouth.

GREAT idea! I'll put a bow on my old one....and get the new one I saw at Target today!!!
It would, as a matter of fact, cook enough Macaroni & Cheese to feed an Army!

All of our Eckerd's here are becoming CVS. Do you have CVS?

I'm going to go find the Mickey candy canes.

Like, for a hundred!

TOP?

Figured I was the only one not "locked out by the administrator!"

Mac-n-cheese for 100? For an army? Ok, that will keep Nick happy.

Now I can go off to bed happy after pirate: a TOP from you all! ARGH!!!

Ohiominnie - Excerd is a fairly large drug store chain based in FL. We have tons of them here in Atlanta.

They are selling candy made for the new Disney Once Upon A Christmas movie, which was recently released. The candy canes come in several flavors and are individually wrapped in clear cellophane paper with mickey images printed on it. Great for hanging on the tree!

The mints are mickey head shaped those chocolate covered mint patties (can't recall what they are named - oh yeah York peppermint patties). I would think Walgreens or some other large drugstore chain, or perhaps Walmart/Target would have them. Good luck finding them....

I LOVE York peppermint patties. I just don't know if I could bite Mickey's ears off.....

Another turkey question. And this is important. I don't want to poison anyone.
I may have really goofed. I just noticed that the tag on the turkey says "Fresh". So, apparently, he was "fresh" when I bought him....I put him in the freezer. Is that okay?
I could call and ask my Mom, but then I'd be on the phone for 3 hours.

OK - Turkey story......

I'm the cook in the house.... Last year DW had to make the Turkey because I was working.... Anyways... the deal was - to have everything ready.... so I did.... including instructions.... forgot to be specific enough about stuffing the bird and removing the giblets...... Of course - DW didn't know that you were supposed to remove the giblets... she even called me to ask where they were - and I told her.... but she couldn't find them.....

We survived...... This year she's going to her sister's .... and I'm working - yet again.....
