Angie - I will call tomorrow and arrange the early seating. I will include you and see if that works. I was going to wait for late joiners but I don't want you to have 'stuffed guts'

Hello Cruisers.....

I've been trying to get a 'list' started for those folks coming to the Hyatt the night before....

Maybe we could order pizza, etc and get to know each other, or at the very least, know each other for the bus ride to port.

I have heard from some people.......

SOOOOOOOO....if you and yours are coming to the HYATT the evening (or so) before....pm me

Christine:tongue:

Angie....sent a PM......

Off to get Jordan and go to dinner with some friends we haven't seen in a while.

And I wonder about my lack of weight loss!!

Our meeting was another great one. Jay & I were waiting by the restaurant, Gallaghers, for Linda & family. I recognized Linda right away, and she had no trouble knowing who I was. Although, Linda is only half the person she was in the picture that she originally sent Mary! I'm wishing I'd been as dedicated to my diet.
We started off talking, and didn't stop until we had our food in front of us. I felt sorry for the waiter. I kept trying to interrupt him, and it dawned on me that the Administrator needed to be there just to shut me up for 60 seconds!
The two "silent" husbands seemed amused at Linda and I, and tried really hard to follow along.....
Jay tried teasing Jamie, but she's so cool...she just handed it right back to him! Jamie had a headache (I would too, if I rode roller coasters all day!) and I of course had to "dispense" something for her. Excedrin...honest!!
But while we were at dinner I felt something hit my foot, and I looked down and there was a bottle of prescription medicine. The waiter didn't seem to want to deal with it, and we didn't particularly want to see what it was either....but I realized someone would need it. I picked it up and asked the guy behind me if it was his. It was. It was his tranquilizers for his fear of flying. I offered to take them off his hands, but he wouldn't have any part of that. Besides, I don't have a fear of flying.
We were all in awe of the lobster this fellow ordered. The biggest one I had ever seen....anywhere. We were certain that if it had been alive, we could have put a saddle on it, and ridden it!
I think we must have sat at dinner for over two hours.....
We went up to our room to visit some more, and Jamie took some pictures of us. I would like to burn them all. Maybe lime green just isn't my color.
The two husbands got along well. They discovered that they entered the Marine Corps at almost the exact same time, right down to the month practically. While they were talking Marine talk, Linda and I realized how funny we must sound to them when we're talking DIS talk! It was like they were speaking in code.
I can't wait to meet the rest of their family. Robert showed me pictures of the kids and grandkids. They have a beautiful family!
I have a funny feeling that Jared will be tongue-tied when he sees Jamie!
With all the people I have met so far, it's like getting together with old friends, or family. I think that when we are all on the ship together, it will be like a class reunion. But maybe we should hire someone to be our Administrator!
Another great meet, totally unexpected, and part of me wishes we had more time before the cruise, so that more of us could meet eachother! [/B]

DITTO!!!!

See, I told you all, Stacey is a much better storyteller than I.

She's right, it was just like we had known each other forever. I think Jay and Robert probably just "put up" with the both of us and decided they needed to talk to each other if they were going to be a part of any conversation!!! Once they found they had so many things in common they were off doing their own "code" talk.

Jay did know about the 60 second "administrator" rule. I think he probably says the same things to Stacey as Robert says to me about being "obsessed" with the boards. (If he knew how to turn on a computer, he could be "obsessed" like us too!!)

Okay, gotta go find some clip art for our magnetic door signs!!!

Linda

Oh, and while I was searching for clipart, I found on angelfire the quote of the day:

hook2.jpg

"Swoggle me eyes, it is Pan! Headed this way with some more of those scurvy brats!" Captain Hook

Now, we don't have any of those on the Magic, do we?
At least, not any of ours from the disboards!!!!!

Oh, one more thing..................

Anyone know where I can find clipart for a Mickey Santa for my magnetic door sign?

Linda - I just sent you two that might work. Think it went to your work address.

Some of you may already know about what is done to Castaway Cay for the holidays, but I found this an interesting read:

Disney's Castaway Cay Becomes a Magical Wonderland
"It's a balmy 73 degrees with snow flurries continuing to fall throughout the day," announced the ship's cruise director as the Disney Magic docked at Castaway Cay in the Bahamas.

Just in time for the holiday season, Disney Cruise Line guests are finding themselves literally "walking in a winter wonderland" -- or shall we say Magical Wonderland, a new themed decor package that has transformed Disney's sandy private island into a "snowy" holiday hideaway.

In addition to "snow" flurries, guests enjoy seeing Christmas trees, Mr. and Mrs. Snowman (with shell noses and tropical shirts), carolers and a sleigh full of presents in the middle of the Bahamas. Disney characters, dressed in holiday island styles, sign autographs and pose for photos to the beat of holiday tunes. Even the island's tram that transports guests across the 1,000-acre island has been decorated to resemble a reindeer, complete with antlers and tail. At the beach, families learn the art of sand sculpting. Guests may even catch a glimpse of Goofy on a jet ski as he tries his hand at water sports in the lagoon.

Tina, sent you a PM.

Is everyone re-watching their collection of Disney movies? It gets you ready for trivia games on the ship! We watched Monsters Inc. last Saturday, just as cute and funny as ever.

Oh, and guess which member of our family was the first to mention wanting to see The Incredibles again?

Ack. Went to see Polar Express tonight. I've always loved the book. The movie is incredible!!!

Came home to a message on my voice mail. The director. She wants me to call....she has to "chat" I tried to call, but got her machine. Told her to call me if it's before 11:30. Wonder if the other mom complained that her kid now isn't on opening night and they're changing it back. I hate waiting! I want to know NOW!!!

Thanks for all the Vegas comments. I don't feel like the "LOSER" Mom :guilty:

Hoover Dam is one of the things I got to see years ago and hope to make a trip out there again.

I'm suppose to work out at 5:30 am and I got a case of insomnia and a nasty cold/cough on top of it. I should be zombie city tomorrow.

Karen, I loved Polar Express too. Good luck on your phone call. I will send PD your way.

Good night, everyone....pleasant dreams.

Well it's almost midnight. No call. I'll just have to wait until tomorrow. Guess I'll just wait until rehearsal unless I hear from her in the morning. No point in calling and saying "I'll see you at rehearsal in an hour, but I thought I'd call now."

Good thing I haven't informed the rest of the family that Nick is on opening night.

Ohminnie.....don't worry about it. If she ends up switching Nick, it was probably because the other Mom threw a hissy fit, and threatened to pull her kid out! You can't believe some of the things I've witnessed over the years I've spent backstage!

Oh well...tired, cold, lazy....going to bed. Dinner was nice. Our friends live in Northern AZ, and were on there way back from a 3 week trip, hungry for Mexican food......

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS!!

Good night!
