More info from Dreams:

DCL has added a new opening show to its stellar entertainment repertoire. The new stage production features variety acts, musical performances and a cavalcade of Disney characters.

Exclusive to the seven-night cruises aboard the Disney Magic, the new show tells the story of a young cruise passenger trying to achieve his dream of becoming a seafaring captain. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and the rest of the Disney characters help the boy realize that if he believes in his dream, it can come true.

Woven into the show is a wonderful overview of the events, activities and venues aboard the ship - along with some helpful tips to make the cruise more enjoyable, such as the best time to meet the Disney characters. In addition, the guests are introduced to the officers onboard who will make sure the voyage is one that will be cherished for a lifetime.

PALO new information:
The ships are now requiring gentlemen to wear a dress shirt when dining at Palo. A jacket (or tie) is still suggested but not required. Gentlemen wearing t-shirts, golf shirts, Tommy Bahamas type shirts, etc. will be turned away. This information is listed in the Personal Navigator and the Palo reservation confirmation card. In addition, there is also a small sign outside the elevators on Deck 10, aft and will be communicated to travel professionals in the Nov. 16 edition of D-Mail. The Champagne Brunch and High Tea will remain Resort Casual.

Not sure if the new show will be up when we cruise but it would be nice :D

Now I am waiting til 12/1 to speak w/ Shirley about fresh greens. I would really like the cabin to 'smell' like a Christmas tree. I don't like the 'pine' air fresheners.

We have been scouring the threads trying to get some info on some of the activities you have planned but were coming up empty.

I finally gave up and asked for some help from Sue(dobelover). The one thing I did find reading all the threads was that you are all a great bunch of people and Sue is no exception, she has been great and I just wanted to recognize her on the forum.

Thank you very much for your help Sue:sunny:

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

I am finally getting a chance to check in after a very busy week.
I have been trying to keep up, but had to skim a lot of pages.

Lisa- sorry you are not feeling well. Kristen has been sick too, maybe you have the same thing? We really enjoyed meeting you and your family last weekend. Hope you are feeling better.

Thanks Tina, it was nice seeing you too. This darned bug has been really rough. I thought I had it beat, then Monday morning, once I got into work, my fever spiked up. So I went home and vegged for the day. Yesterday I couldn't get into the board at all. Glad to make it back in this morning. I'll catch up on all the posts hopefully!

DD's all county choir concert was last night. Boy do we have some talent in this county! DD was disappointed not to be chosen for a solo, but the soloists were really spectacular! DD needs a little more confidence building to be able to match them!

The new show sounds great.... Hope that they do have it when we sail... I bet that they do.....

Another day back at work..... I was so busy yesterday.... I had to stay 2 hours after my shift ended trying to finish my admissions.... many very sick patients....then came into the ER today - and the staff was quite upset... had a pediatric arrest last night - 4 month old... my staff was taking it pretty hard....I am proud though, of how they handled it, the family, and some of the social issues....

Be back later!

Dexter, MI. I remember it fondly as the spot on 69 with the drive in theater. I went to MSU and drove by it for many years.

Okay, now I'm confused. I drove I-69 regularly for 5 years, and I can't remember where Dexter is. I went to college in Flint, and grew up in Indianapolis, so I-69 (including the lovely temporary route through Lansing) was my stomping grounds!

So Teresa, remind my tired brain please????

DOC,

TRULY SORRY too hear that.
I hope you have a much better day today

Phil & Tracey - got your picture! Will try and get it up in the photo gallery either tonight or tomorrow.

Sue is a sweetie - don't know what I would have done without her taking over early seating dining from me.

Virgil - thats a tough one. :grouphug: to you and your staff.

TKD Lisa - missed you, hope the bug is finally gone. And please tell your dd and ds what ever is in my yard is really big. I have a shepards pole with bird feeder. This is a thick pole with stakes about 10" in the ground. Something bent the pole about 3" above the ground
I am almost afraid to let Jesse and Sam out after dark

Mary, I am very concerned about this post of yours. It sure does sound like bear abuse to me. First, why does Bear not have his own seat. I think first class would be appropriate. And than you let security guards touch him. This is a clear case of bear abuse.

We just may have to call PETA about this!

You better be careful how you treat Bear. He is 15 years old and remember how teenagers can act to their family.

I wonder if Bear is going to be in more pictures than Mickey?

Bear will fly first class when we do (which doesn't seem to be any time in the near future). If anyone would like to donate 3 first class seats from Chicago to Orlando we'd be more than happy to accept :D

WE HAVE 6107 AND OUR KIDS HAVE 6105, 6111 AND 6087!!!!!

Linda

Aha, so the party section is Deck 6 port side??? aft, and deck 8 aft (home to Stacey!!) right???

We're down in the bowels in room 2573. Waitlisted for higher deck, but I've given up on the thought.

Lisa - Please stop by 7636 for a good time. We have handi room so no stumbling into the bathroom. It takes me several times of ramming my toes to remember to STEP UP. I hope everyone uses our room to 'freshen up' when lounging on deck 7 aft.

Phil(and Tracey)

Let's see if I can remember them all so that I can get them in the mini navigator:

12/17 Pre-cruise meet at MVMCP night of 12/17 - details still TBD

12/18 DIS meet 3pm deck 10 dock stide mid-ship (above the goofy pool). The first offical chance to meet everyone and collect your buttons.

12/18 4:15 (or so) Sailaway - those DIS'ers wanting to hook up for Sailing can meet at the same place as the DIS meet. Then stay there or move down to deck 9 to get in the action.

12/20 4:30 Sessions - wine party for the adults. Kids are working on their own gathering idea.

12/26 10:30 Brunch. One group is already reserved for the private room and a table just outside. If anyone else wants to join book this time on your own and asked to be seated near the private room.

Ongoing - for those who signed up we will pass out a mini-navigator with the room numbers of other DIS'ers so you can make arrangements for meeting up.

Ongoing - for those who signed up we are going to play room "Tag". LeiLani (I think) is making up the large green Mickey head. It gets put on a room door. When you find it on your door sign your family name and room number and go "tag" another DIS'ers door. Do we need more than one to make the rounds? Did we set groundrules yet on this?

Virgil was also talking about doing a group photo. I think it is a great idea. One suggestion is that instead of doing it at 4:30 at the wine party what if we set it up for say 4:15 in the atrium? I think they could get a better group shot there since the place is so big. It would be right before the adult and teen meet and those with little ones could be in the shot and then take them right up to the club/lab. Is anyone willing to organize this?

Well that's all that I can remember. Have I forgotten anything?

Oh I thought of a couple I forgot:

Ladies night - did we settle on a date for this? Did we decide what we are going to do?

Christmas Carols - we talked about getting together to do this as well. Suggestions for time/place? Does someone want to organize?
