The only reason that I'd like to know what nights are what so that I can plan on Palo. I'd like to take both DW and DD (Kristin) to Palo..... so I'd love to have some idea of things......and of course - we do want to be in Lumiere's on formal night....

These are also the main reasons we want to know the theme nights. I also want to choose our dinning rotation so it would help to have this information.

CONGRATS gaRry!!!!!

Okay, since I haven't had a milestone I will take 18,000. This is for the day we sail, Dec. 18th. So I'll cross my fingers and hope we get there.

Oh, I did read about your evil twin sister Lisa as I skimmed over 40 pages this morning. So, is it your evil twin Lisa or Stacey that we are meeting up with in Vegas?

If she heads to the ladies room and returns an hour later, you know it's Stacey. She was sidetracked by one of those one armed bandits. We are going to be in Vegas in 2 weeks, it's too bad we are going to miss you guys.

***for those medical pro's out there.....***

I bought Dramamine........but please tell me the difference between OTC and a prescription equivelent........

Is there some type of 'patch'?

(do Dr's get samples of this)

I'm worried about DH...says if he doesn't feel good he's gonna fly home.

Please help me out!
Christine

Here's some information I put together on another thread. There is plenty of Bonine (meclizine) available for free outside of the medical center on board.

The Transderm Scop patch is a patch that contains scopolamine and you put it on behind your ear and wear it continually for 3 days at a time. Can have irritating side effects but, most people complain of a dry mouth. Wear the patch for a day or two prior to going on the cruise to see if you can tolerate it. It is a prescription only medication. Drug clears rapidly from the system - hence the need to wear the patch - so side effects should be resolved in 4-6 hours after removing the patch. You MUST be diligent about washing your hands after they come in contact with the patch and if you accidentally touch it and touch your eye(s) they can dilate your pupils and give you symptoms much worse than seasickness alone! Their website is http://www.transdermscop.com/site2/

Then there are the over the counter drugs like Dramamine, Dramamine Less Drowsy, Bonine and the active form of Bonine and Dramamine Less Drowsy which is Meclizine.

Dramamine is a dimenhydrinate and it has the ability to make you really really sleepy! I'd suggest trying these methods out at home before you go as well to see how they react especially if they make your extremely tired and if you drink how you react with alcohol. Original Dramamine can be used in small children although not under the age of 2 but can make them extremely tired and agitated. Here is their website
http://www.pfizer.com/do/counter/di..._dramamine.html

Dramamine Less Drowsy and Bonine are actually Meclizine. You can generally buy Meclizine over the counter (although some pharmacy's keep it behind the counter) but without a prescription and the Meclizine is generally cheaper. We get 100 Meclizine tablets for 8.00 where we get 12 Bonine for 8.00 so the difference is a big deal to us! Meclizine, Bonine, Dramamine Less Drowsy are all antihistamines such as Benadryl.

Antivert - Prescription version of Meclizine - no difference in strength/ingredients - just price!

Claritin = Loratadine - Not as effective for most people - makes very few people drowsy

Any antihistamine has the potential to help with seasickness. Remember if you are already taking an antihistamine - start at the lower doses of meclizine - as there can be an additive effect

Alcohol can intensify the side effects of all of these medications!

Sounds like a fun to me! Just tell him he has to dance with the girls as well as eat with them and he'll be "golden":sunny:

Matt will probably sing and dance just to eat two meals in one night.

I like his thinking.

Everyone at late seating better get there early or they may find Matt happily ordering his second meal of the night.

After all, isn't that why they call it "second" seating?

Speaking of Matt and food. He is getting ready for bed and just asked for more to eat.

He sure does get his money worth on the cruise, especially with "second seating" .

We used to have direct TV. It doesn't work well in central Ohio--too much cloud cover. Those times when you wanted to stay in and watch TV (rainy, cloudy, yucky weather) it was all pixel-y. Same for direct PC. We switched to Roadrunner when it came into our area, then switched to digital cable.

Then it wasn't installed too well. It takes a storm of the type that would make me turn off the tv anyhow for fear of lightning damage to cause problems here. Normal overcast or rain doesn't do anything to it. Even hard snow is transparent to it. Install is key with these things, and I have reaimed mine once since installing it to make sure it stays that way.

Oh and congrats on getting 15,000 Gary!

Glad my suggestion to number posts mostly worked.. :)

Wow, I thought today was busy. I figured out my schedule for tomorrow.

8-9 am sometime...take the dog to the vet for spaying (kids have to be up and ready to go by then b/c mike has a patient in the hospital he must go see)
9:15 leave home to get to Vets Memorial for OSU marching band concert--I'm organizing our group, so I have to be there early.
10:15-11:45--the actual concert.
11:45-12:30--find another location downtown that I don't even know the address for so Nick can be measured for his costume
12:30-1:00 hustle to acting, grabbing lunch SOMEWHERE on the way.
1-4 rehearsal
home at 4:45.
dinner and then ballet from 7:30-8:15.

leaving the dog at the vet's overnight. like I need to add post-op dog to that day!!!

So off to bed I go. Sorry I can't help get the post count up. Congrats, gaRry on #15,000

I passed my TKD pre-test for advanced yellow belt. I'll be taking the actual test next Friday! Results are usually 2 weeks after the test, so keep your fingers crossed.

Keith (DS) will be testing for Green on the same night!

What happened to the late night crew tonight? Guess they were tired out from the past few nights. I worked ALL day today on listings, so I missed all the fun. OK, so I went to dinner, and watched Survivor. But other than that, I worked.:hyper:

Jim & Sharon, Matt is welcome to take one of our seats at 2nd dinner (ok, just a flashback, is he a hobbit?) the night we go to Palo's. I'm not sure how the servers will react, but I doubt they will kick him out. He could say he's Alicia's missing brother, I guess.

So who wants to referee on the teen thread?

We were talking tonight at dinner, anyone up for a secret Santa exchange? We could do families, with a gift from our home states, or just do the kids.

I came back in long enough to say goodnight.
We had a really nice, long dinner and relaxed, watched CSI and ER....and now I am going to bed. It's kind of like Christmas, the sooner I go to sleep, the sooner it will be morning and I can go to Las Vegas.
At this point, I wouldn't care where I was going, as long as someone is going to clean the bathroom, make the beds, cook....

Diana....hate to be a party pooper...but count me out for Secret Santa. It's a great idea....I just have too much other junk to bring. I already have two suitcases packed with just decorations and miscellaneous stuff.
Hopefully everyone else will want to, though. It sounds like fun.

Why does the teen thread need a referee??

Out of here for now....

GOOD FINALLY FRIDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS!!

Goodnight!
Stacey

I'm sure you did fine. If you did well on your form I'm sure you will pass. They are not in the business of failing people. They want to see you succeed and continue.

For the past two weeks Matt has been taking special training classes to be a judge. Saturday he is going to be a corner judge at a TKD tournament. He has had a great time and learned a lot about what they look for in tournaments.

Are you all still planning on working out during the cruise?

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower:

TGIF everyone!

Wow another week flashed by!

Mark started on the buttons last night. I'll have the check list up for them one more time this weekend.

We're up for a secret santa.

Well off to read the boards and then off to work I go.
