Good, it's probably NOT the pan itself. But, it could be the connection, which is what you mentioned earlier.
So, the foyer is below this area? Did you hire a "pro" plumber?
Might me a loose connection with the drain pipe. Most of those "Redi-Test" drains have a rubber gasket that needs to be installed properly to seal.
Doesn't sound like a supply water problem.
Whew. I can rest easier tonight. Yes, the shower base is DIRECTLY over the foyer. In fact, when they put the base in, a small stain showed up there--everyone in the family thought I was nuts--they think I'm always seeing some new water spot somewhere. But, looking down through the subfloor I could tell that it was EXACTLY in line with the trap--figured some water leaked out as they were working.
Yes, Mike's cousin didn't want the responsibility of sweating shower pipes or hooking up this drain, so he subcontracted a professional plumber. The guy seemed a bit stumped at this shower base--said he'd never encountered one that worked like this one did. When I called him this evening, he remembered me, and the weird base, and had no problem coming out tomorrow.
Hoping it is something easy. Thanks for the "handsome handyman" advice....................again!
