Good, it's probably NOT the pan itself. But, it could be the connection, which is what you mentioned earlier.
So, the foyer is below this area? Did you hire a "pro" plumber?
Might me a loose connection with the drain pipe. Most of those "Redi-Test" drains have a rubber gasket that needs to be installed properly to seal.
Doesn't sound like a supply water problem.

Whew. I can rest easier tonight. Yes, the shower base is DIRECTLY over the foyer. In fact, when they put the base in, a small stain showed up there--everyone in the family thought I was nuts--they think I'm always seeing some new water spot somewhere. But, looking down through the subfloor I could tell that it was EXACTLY in line with the trap--figured some water leaked out as they were working.
Yes, Mike's cousin didn't want the responsibility of sweating shower pipes or hooking up this drain, so he subcontracted a professional plumber. The guy seemed a bit stumped at this shower base--said he'd never encountered one that worked like this one did. When I called him this evening, he remembered me, and the weird base, and had no problem coming out tomorrow.

Hoping it is something easy. Thanks for the "handsome handyman" advice....................again! :)

From the information we have exchanged, sounds like a bad connection in the drain. Your biggest problem, is going to be the ensuing hole and patch of the drywall on the ceiling.

Look at this way, it will get rid of the water stain.....:sunny:

The bad news is that plumbers don't patch drywall worth a hoot!!

How's that shoulder????

Well, now, there IS a bright side!

Ok, if a plumber mucks up a job--doesn't create a leak proof connection, who is responsible for the drywall patch and texturing? I mean, it's not like we've been using it for months or years and this happened.....it was the FIRST time it was turned on. So is the plumber in anyway responsible for having it fixed at his expense?

Mike says no....it's like if you go to the doctor and have to go back b/c you don't get better---that's not the doctor's fault.

I maintain the human body is just a TAD bit more complex than a pipe and a plumber *should* be able to get it right the first time.

Whatcha think?

Oh, what the heck, I've got a hole in my basement ceiling from a water leak that hasn't been fixed yet. What's another hole? If we try to sell, I'll try to pass them off as "skylights." ;)

That's unclear.....the water leak HAS been fixed. The hole HASN'T. Right there...that's a Benadryl and a Mike's Hard Lemonade talking..... :earseek:

Well, I'm out of here for tonight.
Payroll tomorrow...so I won't be around till later.

Angie, no problem at all...not your fault!!

Just remember.....ALL LATE DINERS.....call whoever you booked with and have them move you back to LATE DINING!!
We are all still "linked" and will still be seated together.

We are, in fact, linked exactly the way any other group would be...so my question is: do we get the "group" room credit?????

GOOD TUESDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS!!!

:bday: Happy Belated Birthday, Teresa!!

Good night,
Stacey

My opinion (which isn't usually worth much)....YES...he is responsible. He said he didn't really know what he was doing with that particular drain in the first place.
BUT....if there isn't a contract with a warranty....then, you are tough out of luck, unless he just happens to be a really nice guy.

This is exactly what I would do: If you have a receipt for the work, or a warranty or contract, read it and see what it says. If it says he has to make it right, then just have the paper handy when/if he tries to bill you.
If not....I would still say (in a half-joking manner) "Well, since this work is only X number of days old, then this repair is a freebie, right?" And see what he says. If he gets nasty about it, you could mention that you might be calling the Registrar of Contractors.

Well, let me put it this way: If this happened to us, it would be "our problem" not yours. I guess you'll find out how professional your plumber really is now!!

You could always lock the dog in his truck! :earseek:

Hello all, just caught up. I will call my TA tomorrow and hope they will check the seating since I've already paid them. I used a cheapie internet TA with no service, which I will never do again. Tina and Vicki, hope you've checked on this too!

So if we all rebook the same cruise on board, can we get the group discount?

Hi All
We're baaack.....

Ahhh, such tales....

Took the Atlantis tour on Paradise Island and the water taxi refused to take me back to Nassau where the Oosterdam was parked....oops.....

my, my, my....silly people...This is ME you're fooling with...

What's this I read about the late/early dinners?

Disney is being hard-headed about accessible shore excursions and has invited me to book them through a private company....as she arrives at the ship late and sees it sailing off into the distance....I don't think so...

Anyway, got the kinks worked out of my wardrobe. Now all I have to do is wash the stuff and re-pack....yawn...

Welcome to the cruise Cam Fam,

We are from Bedfordshire, England. Me (Angela), DH (Paul) and two boys aged 12 and 10.

I have emailed DU to hopefully move me back to second seating. I'm sure it won't be a problem as many more people seem to want 1st seating.

GOOD MORNIN ALL
VERY SLOW NIGHT AT WORK. JUST WHAT I NEEDED.

I REALLY HATE IT WHEN THINGS GO JUST PERFECT.......
:hyper: :hyper: :teeth: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

No we still haven't read all of your posts but we are getting there. I showed my DD the buttons you are making and told her about everyone, her first question was is there anyone of my age coming? We could find alot of boys around our DS's age but none her age yet, anyone know of any 6-7yr old girls listed?

Have to go get coffee.

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Welcome back to Stacey, Diana & Lynda.

Good luck to all those trying to change their dining back. Why does it seem like something so simple keeps getting us hung up. :D

As Debbie told me the one time I talked to her. "If you had all booked together you'd be a group and could be dealt with as group dining". As I told her the trouble was when we all booked this 18 some months ago we didn't even know each other. Now we are a group of friends that aren't afraid to share things (like Bears) and are looking forward to 10 days of fun together!

Off to read the boards and then off to work.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning All!!!

Angie - don't worry about it, it's not your fault. It can be fixed as long as everyone calls their TA and has them switched back to late dinning.

Stacey, Lynda, Cash, Diana, and Linda - welcome back.

Matt - thanks for the info. Since you seem to have the inside connection, let us know if you hear anything.

Off to get the kids ready for school. Have a great day!
