Sure......I finally get a chance to be here, and I end up all alone!!

Sorry about Hershey, all of you who'd been planning on going. It really sounded like it would have been fun. :(

GaRry & Vicki.......sent a PM or TWO........if you didn't get them...PM or e-mail me....unless GaRry doesn't really want that Mustang!

Seems more and more wineries are turning to screw top for their fine wines as corks have been found to carry a bacteria (TCA) that ruins the wine. Two to ten per cent of all wines have been found to be infected. The major cork producer is Portugal, and they are working on solving the problem.
Most of the wine makers are saying it's too little, too late. So pretty soon, they may be all screw-tops!

They are also starting to use a synthetic material. Wineries think this will be more widely accepted for the finer wines due to the reputation that screw tops have.

From what I have read I don't think GaRy cares.

That's as much culture as I can add today. Off to cook some wild caught Alaskan Salmon in a brown sugar honey glaze with a nice bottle of screw top wine. No reason to save it for Ivan.

On a sad note... Sophie Grace died early this morning..... She was in her grandmother's arms (Emmasgrammy)...

Mike just posted this on the Sophie update thread - and I thought that you all might want to know...

Oh that is so sad. Poor little baby. I really feel for her father and grandparents - what a terrible time they have been through.

Oh, no.................that is just too heartbreaking to even think about.

I don't even want to imagine how incredibly horrible that would be.

Virgil - I just saw that. Poor little thing. My prayers are with her family.

Angels don't stay away from heaven very long...sorry for the news.
ok the new kid has more questions. 1. Pirate cruise...Antiqua or St. Lucia any references on either?
2. Dolphins. I want the coolest. Have always dreamed of this and I want to choose properly any info will be welcomed. Went to Sea World a few weeks ago and they have one there, but would rather be in the sea, not a tank. choices seem to be St. Maarten or Antiqua.
Talk about natural phemomena Chargers won. OH MY GO_!!!

Poor little Sophie. What an incredible testimony of EmmasGrampy's faith. To see the hand of God in this during this AWFUL time.

My mom wondered, but I didn't know... do Mike and Lynda have any other kids and/or grandkids?

Updated puppy pictures if anyone is interested:

Took Maggie to the Delaware All Horse parade today. Over 500 horses! She barked at the sheriff and freaked out during the first marching band. She nearly strangled herself trying to escape! But the second band came and she only barked. And during the third band she paid no attention. So it was a good socialization day for her. Also, she was surrounded by little kids all wanting to pet her and love on her and she did well with that too! :)

OhMinnie...I've been hoping you would putup a new picture of Maggie! She's so pretty. They grow fast, dont they?

Mike & Lynda have one other daughter, that I know of. Don't know if there are more.

Off for a while.....hope to be back later.

Ohiominnie - great pics of Maggie, your 'tails' of puppy things make me smile at the memories. I have been looking at the shore excursions, especially for the 2 new islands. Since my mom has limited mobility I will monitor the boards for info. Keep it comin'.

OMG-How very sad for the father and his family. It is so heartbreaking. My prayers are with the family.

I am going to look at Ohiominnie's puppy pictures. TTYL-Gail

Good Evening Everyone -
Just got back home from our weekend jaunt. It was wonderful to see my DD (Sandy) at her apartment. My aunt really enjoyed it - she had never been to Gainesville before and therefore had never seen the Univ. of FL campus. We went to Universal on Saturday - really don't enjoy it. Totally different crowd than WDW/the roller coasters are fun, but I'm always ready to leave after a few hours. Today we went to EPCOT - very empty. It was nice, but seemed almost eerie at times. Ate lunch at the Geman pavillon - it's one of my favorites. All the foods my Grandmother used to make.
Oh well, school is supposed to start on Tuesday. Don't know how; so many are still w/out power.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. My heart breaks over little Sophie.
Cindy

Evening everyone

Welcome to our new cruise friends -

Such a busy weekend! Spent yesterday helping a friends daughter at her high school Equestrian meet. Our school doesn't have a team this year and the kids are without a horse to ride for this type of event so we just helped and watched. Nat did very well placing 1st in 3 of 5 events. Today was spent with our horses aka-GaRry's babies.

Tomorrow's back to work and school for us. GarRy and Gregg have diving class, DS is very excited.

Very sad to read about Sophie. Prayers for her family.

Time to get to bed. I cannot stay up late like Stacey does. She gets to sleep in I can't. :cloud9:

Have a great week everyone!!

So where are the "boys" doing their open water check out dives?

The TSA guy at the ATL airport saw my AIDS Vaccine 2004 bag and started yelling about how the gov't already has a vaccine and it's hiding it. It's a conspiracy to get rid of minorities.

Yeah, it's great to be home.

So, ummm... who's gonna be at Mickey's XMas party at MK on the night before the cruise????? Can we have a meet there?

Is anyone staying at the MCO Hyatt besides us?

We decided to take Keith out of school a few days early so we can fly out on the 16th. Coming from the left coast we didn't want to risk missing the boat due to weather delays. So as long as there are no weather delays, we should be able to make the party on the 17th and the "boat." I have the tix for the Xmas party already and we are officially excited. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I'm not making much sense right now, am I? And to think I write for a living!

Does anyone know (I never paid attention before) if the irons on the ship are steam irons or just regular "burn your clothes" irons? It will have some effect on what I may or may not pack for dinner. Yes, I LIKE to dress up for dinner. I make the boys (DS and DH) dress up for dinner too. DS isn't crazy about it, except for Formal Night. The boy actually STRUTS in his little tux. Too cute!

I'm gonna go crash. Mary, thanks for remembering Keith's b-day for the newsletter. Did I mention I LOVE your newsletters?

GarRy, do I PM you about t-shirts? I've obviously been gone way too long...

Dee, who's trying to sneak back into this thread
