Stacey- did I read correctly, your dog has its own pool??
Without the proper training and years of practice, of course you will need to sand more than you would like. This is the biggest reason I recommended the Plus3 joint compound. It is very easy to sand and should make you life a bit better. Think of it this way: Your arm muscles will get a work out.Originally posted by ohiominnie
Tinksdad alert!
Got the joint compound, got the 10 inch putty knife. attempting to do this. do i just need the ever so slightest layer of joint compound on the walls? of course, *I* think*, it's looking totally AWFUL and will NEVER look right. This stuff is NOT fun to smooth out. I'm thinking I'll have to do more sanding than I really want to do.
I forgot to mention about putting down a drop cloth or something, guess you figured that out anyway. It/you can make quite a mess with the dropping of the mud. As long as you don't step in it and drag it all over the house it can stay and be picked up when dry much easier.Originally posted by ohiominnie
well, i doubt i'll ever get years and years of practice, so this will have to be good enough!
thanks for the tips. the "rotating your wrist to apply more pressure to the right side" makes complete sense and i think will alleviate a lot of my frustrations.
of course, i was having the thought "why didn't i organize a DIS meet in my bathroom and invite tinksdad????"
ok, back to work. this message has taken too long as i can only type with my two ring fingers (the only two not covered with joint compound)
hope ohiomickey doesn't notice it on his nice optical mouse![]()
