WOW First TOP!!!!!

Okay question about ordering t-shirts. Are we supposed to pick a front and back design? Plus choose the color shirt we want? Sorry, I am behind on this.

Thanks

Karen, thoughts and prayers for you Aunt and Uncle.

Regarding Hershey.

We are still planning on going, but since so many can't make it we're going to play it by ear as far as weather. If the weather is bad we'll just cancel out. That's one of the reasons we aren't looking at getting tickets ahead of time.

Tina - just wanted you to know. Not sure if Vicki & GarRy are still going. If the weather is great and you guys show up we'd love to meet and spend some time together.

The whole reason we still want to go is that it is someplace we've always wanted to visit. Getting to meet other DIS'ers was going to be the icing on the cake.

Since he is out of school for the week, DS decided to re-do his room. That means lots of trips to "The Mother Ship".

He called this morning asking how to remove wall paper. This could get serious.
And you thought the "Hurricane" was past you. Shall we dub this one Cyclone Matt?

Leslie - most of the snorkeling excursions provide equipment, but they will also let you bring your own. We brought our own equipment in April and we are taking it again in Dec. The hardest part is finding another suitcase to fit it in.
LeiLani
I go along with LeiLani, except I ALWAYS bring my own equipment even if we are just snorkeling. The masks and snorkels at those places have are really bad (gagging sound). There is no greater PITA than having your mask or cheap snorkel leak non stop.

Ah, tinksdad, glad to see you posting....
Went to the Mother Ship today. I hope what I got was right. It's USG and said Plus 3 on it, but also said "lightweight joint compound." I am hoping I was supposed to get "lightweight."

Do you realize that a tub of that stuff costs about $500??? Yes, turns out, the actual product you buy is about $5, but the Maytag Skybox that happens to be on "sale" while you're there, makes up the difference between $5 and $500!

Cold Coke, anyone?

See, I told you it got expensive. Impulse buys, you gotta luv 'em.

That is the right stuff. The lightweight makes it a lot easier to sand and apply. You'll love (maybe that's not the right word) working with it.

Hey Leilani-how's it going? I heard Lake Mead was way down also. Considering Lake Powell feeds into LM, that makes sense. LP when full is at 3711 feet. Right now it is at 3571. However, in the main channel we had variations from 150 feet deep to over 400 feet deep at the dam with our fish finder.

So, plenty more water, just the canyons are full of water anymore. We found some pretty great hiking spots though that we were never able to explore before and even found a cave! And there had been some Navajo writings in Navajo canyon that were covered with water, but now you can see them.

Anyway, plenty more water there, I guess we could have sunk the boat if we wanted!!!!!

Linda

DS & DD finished all their chores today so I guess I have to feed them tonight. Actually, they also helped cook much of it so what can I complain about. Matt made the hunter sauce and Lisa did the veggies.

Hurricane Matt is going to paint tomorrow, unsupervised. When I go to the "Mother Ship" tonight to pick up paint (of course before the curfew. Yes our county is under curfew) I will pick up a whole gallon of Goof-Off. Maybe that will help me clean up tomorrow night.

I keep telling myself, "it's his room and it does not have to be perfect". But easier said than done!

Boy scuba diver, I wish I could feel that way about DD's room! The DH says "pick your battles wisely", and I have! That is my biggest battle of all!

Linda

I had no idea what a "Maytag Skybox" is, so I Googled it. For the home that has everything?

Jim, at least Matt is willing to get in there and Just Do It! Alicia keeps saying she wants her room redone, and we keep saying "when everything gets picked up". It's a standstill.

Yeah, I guess so. We're going to re-do our basement in an OSU Buckeye theme, and the Maytag Skybox has a front panel you can get with a big Buckeye logo. So it'll blend right in. Besides, I am a little sick of my fridge being filled up with pop!

Mary - I can't seem to access the Sept. newsletter. I can bring up the website but when I scroll down it stops at Aug 2004. Any clues?
[/B]

LeiLani - did you try and hit refresh. That should do it. Just in case I'm sending you a direct link via pm.

WHOA! I go to work fo one day...one looong day...and you all really go to town! If I weren't so self-assured, I'd get a complex.

Welcome home, Linda....glad you still had fun.

We take our own snorkel gear, too. No choice, the lenses are prescription! We haven't taken our fins on the cruises before, but since this one is longer, we will. I have a duffel for the gear, and yes....it will most likely require it's own suitcase.

Diana.....same standoff here......if they'd clean it, I'd redecorate. I don't think I'll be redecorating until after Jared goes to college. ;)

LeiLani.....do you use AOL? For some reason, I can't get Mary's newest newsletter on AOL until a week or more after she posts it. I also have MSN, so I use that to see the newsletter.

I have no idea what I did differently, but I'm now able to get on the boards with AOL again.

Leslie.....my oldest DD & her DH are villain fans, too. It's kind of too bad there isn't more villain merchandise out there.

What a long day. I was in my (air conditioned) office for maybe an hour. Was out in the (non-air conditioned) shop the rest of the time. Lots of walk-in customers and phone calls, a job applicant, and a new renter who wanted to go over his plans with me.
And if I'm out in the workshop, I have to listen to the guys whine. No kidding, they whine more than little girls. Calgon!!!
I did manage to run vote.....it's so tough, right next door!

Guess I'll take a peek at the boards. I'll be back eventually.

Good Evening Everyone! Yay, we got electricity tonight at 7:00
what a relief. Still many in our town and especially our county (Palm Beach County) w/out power. School is out for atleast the rest of this week. Can't even think about when we'll make it up. Don't have time to read all the pages that I've missed. Almost didn't find us - when and why did we change the name? Whew - just pray that Ivan decides to skip his Floridian vacation.
Cindy

Hi Cindy!
We changed the name because the Magic stayed out for 10 days due to Frances....so we weren't going to be the first 10-day anymore. So we are now the 10 days of Holiday Magic! It sounds so much more special!

I was just looking on e-Bay....I cannot believe the stuff they have on there for Frances already. Some people are either nuts, or think they're funny.....they're selling Hurricane rain water, shingles from their roofs, "Frances" ocean water, along with the usual pins, shirts and other junk. I guess my line of thinking is that the only people who might want one actually did survive it, so they can go to any street corner in Florida and buy their own.
Why would anyone else want any of that? I guess if there's a market and a way to make a buck......

By the way...this is Stacey......used the wrong account.......

Cindy, short version. Last week's cruise on the Magic got extended to 10 days due to the hurricane. That meant that we are no longer DCL's FIRST ever 10 day cruise. Someone from another thread was happy to come here and point that out.

You also missed that the teens have started their own thread, and are trying to keep it going. Your DS might want to check it out, here's a link:
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=637143

And those who have tried to sign on with different user names have been having trouble, due to cookies. Stacey ate hers, and others haven't been able to find theirs. I keep telling them to get more computers!

Stacey, I haven't checked. Are there "I survived Huricane Charley" t-shirts on Ebay?

We had that same stand off for 3 years. I was always willing to re-do it, if he would just clean it. It never happened, until his sister got her room done.

Tonight his room is completely empty. They spent all day on it with only two breaks.

I think getting a little older has helped. I am seeing a big difference so there is hope for everyone. My baby is growing up! But considering he is my dive buddy, my life line, I'm really glad it is happening.

I can't wait to come home and see the painting. He is painting a border at chairrail height using chalkboard paint so he can put his own designs on it. Pretty clever.

Thanks for the b'day wishes everyone. My parents took us to Don Pablo's after I got off work.

It's been busy around here, with just beginning the final stages of packing up the house. It's taking forever to wrap up the artwork and collectibles. Now why is it that we like to collect so much breakable stuff..... ?!?!?
