Please don't take this the wrong way. Maybe its because we don't have kids. I'm thrilled that our younger cruisers have a place to get to know each other. I have to tell you though that when I read over there I don't understand what they are talking about and I feel OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's OK Mary - as I have kids - and quite frankly - I can only keep up with about 75% of what they are talking about.....LOL

Don't feel bad, Mary....I have two, and already raised one....and I still have no idea what they're talking about. And I don't think I want to know!!!

I am not looking forward to the days when my DD is old enough to flirt. I have a headache already.

Actually at 10 years old, it is already starting and so is my "grey" hair.

She's already asking when she is allowed to date etc.etc.
Talking about marriage and children.

Isn't this a little young?

Afff....she sounds pretty normal to me. Trying to go by the little gals that are Jared's age. They seem to be dying to shave, wear makeup, go to dances.......
I grew up with all brothers in an all-boy neighborhood. When I was 10, I thought I was a boy!
Just keep telling her that boys have cooties. (They do, you know!)

afff, please tell us your first name, I'm thinking it's Gus. Is that right? Yes, the girls get interested in the boys long before the boys get interested. That's our saving grace. They can't do much damage when the boys don't reciprocate. Which seems to start happening around age 13-14, depending on the boy. But you don't really have to worry until they can start going out in cars together. Then, you need to panic!

Diana.....I suppose you are right there.

Its funny you mention that, our DD keeps on talking about her dream car, a red convertible............What now?

All joking aside, whenever the topic arises, we try to reinforce the importance of getting a good education and securing a respectable job before thinking about marriage and having babies.

I guess that is all we can do for now.

Thanks for letting me know its ok to feel old I didn't think anything bad or wrong was being said over there - just didn't understand it. Of course I think when I was there age I didn't understand some of what was being said by my peers so maybe it isn't just age.

Besides I can't be tool old because Paul said I had cooties and he said girls have cooties so I must be a girl and not a woman

That is true. Boys can catch them from girls, but girls can also catch them from boys. Unless, of course, you use a ballpoint pen and write CI on the back of your hand. This is "Cootie Insurance." I had that in the 3rd grade nearly every day!
