Tinksdad: I agree we will have to spend some time making the final decisions. I'll take a look at your updated posting and give you my thoughts.

Tinksdad, Do you think it would be possible to just rent a boat and do a private charter in St. Lucia? I have not looked at private rentals, but with at least 4 of us it may not be costly. Thoughts?

We have a private charter (with a driver) booked for St. Lucia, and the cost is $500. They worked with me on the pickup time, the driver will meet us at the pier at 10:00 a.m. We have the boat for as long as we want. So there are private charters out there, for not much more than most DCL excursions cost for 4 adults.
I also found a few private charters for Antigua, but we're thinking we might do a tour of Nelson's Dockyard that day, and then water taxi to Galleon Beach to swim and snorkel.

I've had as much as I can handle for one day.
I'm going to bed.
I was making dinner (not that it was much of a dinner) and picked up a pan on the stove (by the handle) but for some stupid reason, I put my right hand under the pan. Not burned badly, but it still hurts like a son of a gun.

Going to bed.

GOOD MONDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS

Hope you wake up feeling better, Mary........

Good night,
Stacey

With a quote of $500 from Stacey(thanks for that Stacey, sounds like this is a bugger of a day for you) and five or six divers (six would be better) I think we have at least five already spoken for St. Lucia. With six that would be just as cost effective as the other operations. It would mean that all would have to have their own equipment, or find a boat that had some shop afffiliation so missing gear could be provided.

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Monday everyone!

Neck & shoulder still acting up, but I owe I owe so off to work I go!

First a quick read of the boards and then I'm off to work.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning all. Boy, I'm so sorry to hear about Emmasgrammy. She has always posted such nice things here. It's tragic that things like this still happen. And Doc, I agree with the way you put it. I know that whenever I'm praying from anyone on the thread, I put it something like "And please be with Tina from the DIS thread, who's having problems with kidney stones". It's kind of like I think God won't know who I'm talking about, since most people I know wouldn't get the connection?

Busy weekend at our house. When I got up Saturday morning, DH had decided to take out our old shower door and start to install the replacement we had bought about 18 months ago. Not sure what got him into that mode, but once it was started, there was no stopping the train. We worked most of the day Saturday, then DH took DS to see Yu Gi Oh. I thought I could finish up while they were gone, but there were technical difficulties. Turned out the door had been a special order that was done slightly wrong. Guess there was a reason it was only $40! Sunday we went over to Lowes after church to see one that was actually installed right. We were able to adjust (just had to drill an extra hole in the bottom track), and it's done. The caulk needed 24 hours to cure, so it's a good thing we have 2 showers in our house!

DS has his yearly physical today, so I'm going to pick him up for lunch and go from there. I also have to stop by the glasses store to pick up my (gasp) bifocals. Doggone, it's tough getting old! Eye doc told me that they aren't really bad, but since I do so much close in work, that's contributing to my headaches. It's really disorienting when my eyes don't want to focus right!

School starts next Monday here. There are several open houses/orientations this week. One is tonight, and I'll see if we can take care of everything then. If not, I'll be making 2 more trips to school this week. Good thing it's only 4 miles away!

Mary, sending out good thoughts and prayers for the shoulder!

And there's a newbie who posted on the meet thread that they're on our cruise. Lynda invited them over here to post. Hopefully, they'll drop by. They are from the UK, so maybe we can get Angela in touch with them. At least they'll be on the same time zone!

Happy Monday to all, and have a good week. Lisa

Glad to hear someone's home improvement project went well this weekend! We've had our master bath out of commission for a couple of years now. Mike's cousin came recently and ripped everything out and tiled our shower (it had been an enclosure) Our job was to prime and paint so that Matthew could come back and finish with new flooring, vanity, toilet, etc. Well, Mike had all day Sunday off so he was going to do kid/puppy duty while I primed, painted, and did the ceiling. Well, priming went very poorly. The paint just would NOT stick. Turns out, there was leftover wallpaper sizing on the wall (that we were not aware of) and it left a film that reactivated when the paint wet it. So we had to use putty knives to scrape off the primer. We got most of it, but now the walls are not smooth and flat anymore and we still have lots of sizing residue. ARGH! Who knows when I'll get around to fixing this mess.

Sounds like a remodeling nightmare weekend for both of you. That's why I let DH do it.

Glad to hear another cruiser was found. Hope they find their way here.

Thank you Lisa & OhMinnie! You got my mind off of other things, and had me thinking back to when we remodeled......what a nightmare that was. We did most of the demolition ourselves, and some of the new work, too. Never never in a million years will I do that again. And every now and then, I talk about re-doing our master bath....again. Hearing your stories reminds me NEVER AGAIN!

Mary...glad it's getting better, even if it is slowly! Just be careful at work!

I need to make those phone calls that I didn't do yesterday...I didn't need the whole family hearing how stupid I am. Of course, I just remembered that Megan reads the boards. Oh well.

Then off to work.

Have a great day!

Stacey

Look what I figured out how to do!
Of course, won't I look even more stupid if it doesn't work?

Phone calls? Was I supposed to be making phone calls?

Click here and hopefully you can see a couple of WDW pictures.

Hope it works!

YEE HAW! IT WORKED, AND I GOT A T.O.P., TOO!!!

AND NOW, BACK TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING......... :teeth:

Good Monday morning everyone. It has to be good after the h.... of a weekend we have had at our household. Catching up on the reading seems like everyone else has had their share also.

Stace-bikinis in Mexico.....just make sure you don't watch the "E" channel anytime soon after a DD's trip down there. Would hate to have you see your DD at some point on the E channel with bleeps....over her breast area! My DD obviously isn't going anywhere for spring break, anytime. She is being locked in her room!

Okay-so Saturday am the DH decides to go 2 hours south and meet his friend for a leisurely 4 wheeler trip. Gets up at 6 a.m. and is on his merry way. Me and DD go shopping and to the movies and I call him about 5:30 p.m. and ask him if he is going to be home for dinner. Oh, he is only 30 minutes away, but thinks he is going to stop at emergency room at hospital on way in cuz he is in a lot of pain. Seems that he rolled his 4 wheeler on the mountain. Okay....stupid act #1, his friend doesn't show up so he goes it alone (Girl Scout rule #1, ALWAYS GO WITH A BUDDY!), stupid act #2, he rolls 4 wheeler down mountain, about knocks himself out, sits there for 10 minutes and can hardly breathe. Then proceeds to slowly drive 15 miles off the mountain back to truck. Stupid act #3-gets back to truck, still can't breathe, but decides....heck if I made it to truck, I can drive for 2 hours back home and at least not have to worry about truck being so far from house. Stupid act #4-drives all the way to emergency room, is in so much pain he can't sit down, and then finally gets some relief after they get him some morphine into an IV drip.

Of course, this lovely story continues......has a pneumo thorax (small hole in his lung?) (Virgil-you'll know), and they are worried about it growing, he is dehydrated, his pain is immense, so we spend the next day playing be the patient admitted to the hospital. Then, do you think we can go home on Sunday morning, or afternoon? NO. he can't produce 250 CC's cuz he is dehydrated! So until he produces the specimen, he stays! Well, finally about 7:30 p.m. the dam broke and he got his specimen delivered! Finally got home at 8:30 last night and then Mr. Oxygen man comes to our house cuz he came home with the portable oxygen tank. Now we have that loud oxygen machine in house and the endless tubing walking throughout our house! Needless to say, I didn't sleep well last night, even after moving the oxygen machine to another room to try to minimize the noise. He can only maintain about 85 oxygen level without it (since he can't breathe) and I guess he needs to be to 95 (which is normal) before the machine can leave our residence. Hopefully, only a week or so.

So, the minute we get home I have to spend a couple of hours on Ebay trying to find him a new rear rack for the 4 wheeler since he destroyed the other one. At least I know he has his priorities straight! HA!

Where is a Disney Store when you need one. If I could just get my shopping fix I would feel much better!

Okay, I'm done. I feel better, I fixed up the DH and now I am at work and DD is at her first day of school, so it can only be better from here.

Can't wait to see those hospital bills, especially since I need to pay off the cruise next month for us and the "grown" kids 3 staterooms!

Maybe I need to sell the 4 wheeler!

Linda

Stacey - great job on posting the picture link. Loved the pics! Who did you get balloons from? I love the picture of gaRry with green hair. BTW - did you know you are 67 posts ahead of me on this thread? :D

Linda - so sorry to hear about your DH. Yikes! No more complaining about my shoulder. I can walk and breath all on my own and of that I'm very very thankful. Hope he recovers quickly.

:wave2: Hi!
I'm home eating lunch before I have to run out again.

Linda, we took a vote (not really) and decided that this past weekend was the worst ever. Sorry to hear about your DH, and hope he's on the mend. I am wondering...did you give him the Girl Scout Lecture??? I wouldn't have been able to resist.

Thanks, Mary.....there's alot more where those came from!
The balloons (and there was a goodie bag with chips, cookies, candy) are still the big mystery of the trip. We have no idea how they got there, and if our names hadn't been on the card, I would have thougt they were in the wrong room. It just said From You Secret Pal. And it wasn't any of the DIS'ers who were there.
So, whoever you are, Secret Pal....thank you!!!!

Have a great afternoon....gotta run!

Stacey

Stacey-OF COURSE HE GOT THE GIRL SCOUT LECTURE!!!! I couldn't resist. You always go with a buddy in Girl Scouts! And of course, we have a boy scout (12 years old) lost up in the Uintah Mountains (8,000 ft) since last Friday. You never hear about Girl Scouts getting lost!!!!

Glad you took the vote, I would have concurred anyway! Especially after reading your escapades! And they weren't even fun this time! (Don't you just wish you were back at WDW?)

Linda

My yes, that's a Scary Garry! He kind of scared me when I first saw him, too. Gregg had kind of the same 'do, but in blue.

I'm sorry to hear about all the travails. Linda, your DH needs to be grounded. I guess he has been punished, though.

Stacey, how fun that you have a Secret Pal. Or maybe Megan does? Neither DH has fessed up?

For those needing a giggle, here's my current favorite thread on the Community Board:

Diana-thanks for the laugh! I need more humor like that each day!

Linda

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Linda - glad DH is ok - yep - pneumothorax is a small hole in the lung and the lung is collapsed a little bit...

I don't think I have to tell you what I think of 4-wheelers.... Here I thought you were going to be saying you were selling it on ebay.....

Stacey - thanks for the link - absolutely hilarious - definitely needed that....

I interviewed a resident today for a job next July - boy - I don't think he's even started shaving yet... I feel older all of the time...

Be back later!

Virgil
