NO...I refuse to let them go!!! Next thing you know, they'll be entered in a bikini contest in Mexico, right Paul?????

The "farm kids" in Nebraska could get those permits, too. I was so jealous!
Here, they're talking about raising the age for a driver's license to 18. Jordan is totally freaked. Wouldn't bother me in the least.
Megan was 18 when she got her license, and I had to force her to get it. I was tired of driving her to college. Seriously. She had no desire to drive, and even now she drives like a little old lady.
Except that one time she crossed the flooded creek......

And the suction cup hook (moistened with spit, just like the Home Depot guy said) is still stuck to the wood....so I guess I'll be bringing both types. I had thought of putting lights on the verandah, until I remembered how strong the wind gets, and how damp it is.
Maybe on the "wall" of the verandah, above the door??? I thought it would be neat to see them at night if we are in port late...or for another ship to maybe see them.
I don't think we are staying late in any ports, though, are we??

Well, off to bed. We went into town, for our first practice game fr softball. I hate going to town.

GOOD SATURDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE EAST, WEST, MIDWEST, AND OVERSEAS CRUISERS!!

Good night.
Stacey

Good Morning.....

Is everybody going to use battery powered lights- or are you going to take a few regular and just have extension cords scattered across the cabin.... I noticed a place to get battery powered lights - but each set only has like 5-10 lights... and takes 2 D batteries....

OK - I can't believe we're talking about Xmas lights in August.... DW will think I'm really crazy.....

What a crazy day I had yesterday in the ER.... It was quite busy....Hopefully today and tomorrow will be better - then I only work Wednesday before I get to go to the state medical meeting at the Greenbrier.... Those keeping track will note that this is my third visit to the Greenbrier this year.... A new record!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Forgot to post about school vacations.... We're lucky Lauren is done on Friday - so she'll only miss Friday as we have an early flight for MVMCP (which she doesn't know about...).

The Catholic school she goes to is quite anal... They don't give homework out in advance.... and they frown on missing school for vacations.... DW dislikes the principal with a passion.... For what we're paying... I'd think that they would be more cooperative.... The school she went to in Wheeling - cost even more - but was extremely cooperative as long as she got her work done... and it isn't a monthly occurrence to miss a week.....

Upsets me because I just got an email about another medical conference in March on the Western...... I'd love to do it... but can't take DD out....

OK - Vent off....

HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY!!!!!!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Havng a great time up in Milwaukee and Irish Fest. Still in a lot of pain so I must have done something serious to my shoulder. If it is still bothering me on Monday I'm going to call my doctor.

Back to the fest again today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning all. LeiLani, glad you're back safe and sound! My DH has spent some time in Destin, and says it's asolutely beautiful!

My DD will be almost 13 on the cruise. Linda, I'm glad she'll be in the lab and not Common Grounds. I agree the boys in the lab just haven't noticed girls much yet!

The babysitter took the kids to see Princess Diaries 2 this week. DD told me that a girl told her and DS that she thought he was cute. And he's not quite 11 yet!

Stace, my DD will probably be one of those who doesn't really want to learn to drive. At least I hope so! She won't drive the tractor, so that's what gives me hope!

Mary, sorry to hear about the shoulder. I sure hope it gets better. Is it a rotator cuff problem? DH had surgery for that on one of his arms a few years back, and has needed it on the other one for at least 4 years, but hasn't done it.

The Marine Corps sunset parade was wonderful as always. It had cooled down to the high 80s, and a nice breeze was blowing, so no one passed out (it had been high 90s with really strong sun earlier! I just got a little lost in downtown DC. Luckily not in any bad neighborhoods. In fact, I was right next to the Capitol, and there were plenty of security guards there to straighten me out!

Hope you all have a great weekend. Lisa

Good Morning!
Checking in fast & Early.....gotta hit those sales at the mall. Sure, I get mad if someone wakes me up to take the kids to school...but a sale at the mall...well, that's a horse of a different color!!

Lisa, I wish I could have seen that. My DH was a Marine, but he doesn't talk about it much. I'm really proud that he was, and I bet the whole thing was a sight to behold.

Mary...sorry you are still hurting. I can only imagine how it feels. If I pull a muscle in my neck or shoulder, I whine all day, until it goes away. I hope it doesn't ruin your Irish fun! That's something else I wish I could go to. I've always been mad at my mom...I was born one hour after St. Patrick's Day. 1:00 in the morning on the 18th....she said if I had come any sooner, I'd have been born in the parking lot. I don't think I would have minded being born in the parking lot, if only this Irish girl had been born on St Paddy's day! LOL

Virgil, my brother used to teach at a private school, and whatever the parets wanted, they got. In a way, it's a good thing that Lauren's school isn't like that. His administration would let kids play sports, even after they had been caught drinking, or had bad grades....even though that's not what the rules stated. If a parent went to the principal and complained, the kids could get away with murder. So at least Lauren stands a chance at getting a better education. I'll go on the Western for you! I'll take that 3rd trip to the Greenbriar, too!
The lights I'm using are battery operated, although I did also get a couple of extension cords, and extra plugs for the outlets. I guess I'm thinking curling irons and such!
I haven't looked at the lights for a while. got them last Christmas on sale. I seem to remember that they only had ten lights on each strand.
I also made quite a few Christmas magnets, for the inside of the door, and anyplace else that's metal....and I made our door sign already. But now with the two rooms, I may have to make more.
The only other thing I'm bringing are the stockings. So far. I'm sure I'll think of something else when the time comes.
Between the Christmas stuff and the snorkel gear, and the tuxes...we're going to need steamer trunks, and lots of them! I feel sorry for our poor driver....lifting all that stuff.

Okay...I'm out of here. Checkbook, credit cards, list.......yep...ready to go!

Have a great Saturday!

Stacey

:Pinkbounc WHOO HOO!! GOT A T.O.P.!!! :Pinkbounc

That's got to be a good omen.....

Hey GaRry.....where beeeeee you???????

Shh, I think DH and DD just went to run errands, one of which was those little hooks for decorations in the cabin! Isn't that nice? If true, one less thing for me to worry about! DH still hasn't learned that taking DD along on his shopping trips is an expensive proposition.

Mary, hope your shoulder feels better. Were you carrying something with a strap? That always does me in. But mass quantities of ibufroben help.

Leilani, I've been researching high schools in FL. By test scores, Nice City has the best schools in the state! Too bad it's so far away from WDW!

I refuse to think about driver licenses. DD is a bit of a space case, she's just now getting the hang of looking both ways most of the time before she crosses a parking lot or street. She has a car or two picked out, but I don't think she's eager to learn to drive. She's getting pretty good at the back seat stuff though.

Stacey, happy hunting!

Oh my, I just realized that Stacey said she already made her door sign. Makes me feel like such an underachiever.

Jordan has a list of about ten different cars she wants. She already knows she's getting stuck with Grandpa's '91 Ford pickup.....she's just in denial.

The shopping was great. Lots of bargains, but I'm more tired than if I had worked. And our Saturday night company is coming.
If I fall asleep on the couch while they're here, they'll play tricks on me again. Putting funny hats on my head and taking pictures. Mature, folks, really mature!

Diana, you're not an underachiever! I do things when I have the time, or nothing better to do. If I didn't, and I waited until the last minute (or even the appropriate time) something would happen to mess up my plans, and we'd be without decorations.

Going to go make a cake for this evening. Hope everyone has a great night.

Stacey

Stacey! Thanks a lot! You had to remind me just as I was beginning to forget!

Paul

:teeth: Sure.....what are friends for????

Well, guys...long day. Heading for bed.
Hope everyone who is traveling is having a great time.....Mary, Gail.....

GOOD BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS!!

Good night,
Stacey

P.S. The cake was good, and I didn't poison anyone! Maybe I've gotten rid of that curse!

Our thread is very quiet. Where did everyone go? They must be busy getting ready for more vacations. :bounce:

We had a night out last night! DD had a sleepover, so we went out to eat (alone!) and saw a movie. Garden State. Really liked it. Your falling asleep with company reminded me of that, Stacey. The main character had something like that happen to him too.

DH and DD did NOT shop for cabin decorations. The only things they came home with were a new cat water dish, empty Subway bags, and a "old man crossing" cane with a horn on it. Guess that was Kevin's, a gift from his birthday at his office.

Well we certainly have a lively bunch this morning! Not even a good morning from Mary! Did everyone go away for the weekend?

Mary, I hope your shoulder is feeling better!

Paul

This was posted over at the repositioning cruise board:

Tragedy
I don't know where else to post this so I'm posting this here.

I'm EG'S DH I am just writing this to let you know we had a tradegdy here today. There was a fire at Amanda and Davids home, our daughter and Son in Law, Amanda and Emma passed away from smoke inhalation Sophie is clinging to life and is in Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, David is OK We are asking for your prayers for David and Sophie and as soon as I can I will let you know what the status is here.

Iknow Lynda would have wanted you to know

Mike

For all those that have read EmmasGrammy's threads and those who haven't please send major PD their way.

Paul

Wow Paul, thanks for posting this here, it is so scary how fast something like this can happen. We are sending lots of *PD* and prayers to EmmasGrammy and her family.

LeiLani

I'm here this morning......

The first post I read was about Emmasgrammy and her family. I am so totally .....I don't know, I'm speechless. I had looked at Emmasgrammy's pictures just the other day. It is so hard to even take in. It was bad enough with little Nate.....but this is so unexpected. I can't even imagine and I don't want to.

Does anyone else find it odd, that we are total strangers, but we feel such a sense of loss?

Dear Paul,
You are cordially invited to dinner at Stacey's house, any date, any time.

:teeth: We'll see if the curse has been lifted!!!

Diana.... My DH has one of those canes, too! LOL. If someone gave me one, I'd break it over their head!!!

You should have known they weren't going to accomplish much on their shopping trip. I can't send mine to the grocery store, they only come home with junk food.

This is not a good day, all the way around. It's possible that I have become a victim of identity theft, and even if I haven't, I have to change all of my account numbers. I'm too stupid to live, because it was my fault.
I had an e-mail from e-Bay....and I checked with e-Bay, it looked to be legitimate.....but it wasn't. It was a Fraud Alert....from crooks. So beware, if anyone gets one of these. It's bogus, and lucky for you all, your stupid friend here found out the hard way for you!!

Back to notifying all of my creditors, and the credit reporting agencies, and the motor vehicle dept.....the list goes on and on.

At least I won't be accused of sitting around doing nothing today.
