What do you know I got a T.O.P.!!!!!

Hey Mary- I agree folks shouldn't be upset with DCL they cannot help that Fransis took her time crossing the state. They may be GOOD but there are still two O's in that word!!

Plus I think Jim forgot to invite us. Maybe he figured we'd rather visit another time.

Wondering aloud last night if Castaway Cay will be restored in time for our visit. DH's one track mind immediately thought of the possibility of visiting another island instead - more scuba diving! Then we checked Ivan's chart, it's passing right over St. Lucia. This is a tough season for the islands too.
I'm just a optimistic kind of guy!:p
If we're going to get lemons, man, I'm making lemonade! (Scuba style lemonade)

:sunny: Good Morning! Had to wait for Jared to get off the computer before I could get on. I know....I should hook up the lap top. When (if) my brain begins to function properly, I'll take everyone's advice and look into what Virgil was telling me to get. The lap top says something about "wireless". Just don't have the capacity to think about it right now.
Woke up feeling better today. More rested. See what going on a diet does to a person?
But I lost 2 pounds! That's enough to keep me excited.

I take back what I said about GaRry the genius. I think it's his fault my computer is a mess. (For once, Paul, it wasn't your fault!)
I suppose I could take a little responsibility for being an idiot.

Paul...I figured you would have to work, due to the telethon. Sorry!

Vicki.....I may have to use that "Good" has two "O's"......and people should realize that it isn't only DCL....all of the cruise lines that leave Florida are in the same "boat" so to speak.
I was talking to my mom, and saying that it's easy for us to sit here and tell people to chill. If this had been last year, right before the wedding cruise, I would have been totally freaked. DH agrees that he would have had to muzzle, tranquilize, and possibly shoot me!

I was thinking that DCL will surely have enough time to restore CC by the time we sail. So far, we don't know the extent of the damage.

10 Days of Holiday Magic does have a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Every once in a while, I surprise myself. Thanks for liking it, too.

Before I write a book, and lose the whole page again like I did last night, I guess I'll try posting this and see if it goes through.
Maybe it's too late...I already wrote a book.

Well, it works. I'm still having to use MSN. I'll get used to it eventually.

I bought my supplies for "repair day" today. They have a spray-on texture that seems easy enough.......just a lot of taping to do.

I asked the kid at Home Depot where their neoprene washers were, and he didn't know what I meant. Rubber, kid........
I don't like the plastic nuts that came with the new toilet seat. When it's time to remove them, they have a tendancy to "squish" if you use pliers (which I have to, I'm a weakling)...so I use wing nuts and washers.

I got the cutest piggy banks at Hallmark. I keep a jar for change in the bedroom, and one in the kitchen. I was tired of looking at a jar and wanted something cute.
These are little piggies in wooden crates. One has "Cruise Fund" on the side, and the other says "Mall Money".
They also had a pillow I wanted to get, but didn't. It says: I used to skinny dip, now I chunky dunk!" LOL

Okay, enough of my rambling.

Reading the boards, answering e-mails and then starting the repairs!
If I come back screaming, you'll know it didn't go well. :D

Why don't you all fly in this weekend. I'll cook the steak and lobster tails. You can be our guest, right along with Ivan.

And before you leave, I need some trees pulled out, shingles replaced, the yard needs to be picked up, sand bags put away....If I can get all that done, steak and lobster tails is a cheap price.

One thing about hurricanes is that they don't tear up the reefs. It might tear up the island, but the reefs always look good so we are okay for St. Lucia.

New Smyrna Beach is not with a "smock" sound. It is "Suh-mir-na" Hope that helps.

Today is not much of a "Labor Day". It is too windy to work outside. Still blowing at 25-40 MPH which is not good when you are on the roof or cutting trees. Those things have to wait until next week or just might wait until after IVAN. We picked up and put away most of our hurricane supplies, but not all of them just in case.

Gosh, Jim.....we'd love to come and help....but the kids have school, then there's work, the dog needs a bath, my nails need painting, have to stay here and make sure we don't get hit by a hurricane.......................................sorry

And I would have bet money that it was pronounced smear-nah . Good thing I didn't!

Then it's time to go online and look for 18w HID dive lights!!:bounce:

Check out the Sarteks, and the lights that Sandho makes on TDS. Nice stuff!!!

Jim - If I didn't have to work tomorrow I'd be there to help.
Need to help DH with hay later anyway. didn't bale on Friday as it rained them out. Rain + Hay = big mess!!! though not as big a mess as all of our FLA friends are facing.
Isn't NSB the cheerleading team that always does so well at the competitions?

Stacey - you should learn not to listen to carefully to gaRry it can get you in trouble. He would say you didn't listen correctly though.

I think I hear my vacuum calling - time to get to work!

Vicki

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes yesterday.

I've been researching Key West and am thinking we might do the conch train tour.

Anyone done St Thomas before and know what the drill is for immigration. Is it different for us Brits? Since its Xmas day I'm not keen to be in a queue for 2 hours at the crack of dawn.

Angela

Hi Angela! I'm going o leave your question to one of our experts, I've not done the immigration thing in St Thomas either. But from what I have read, DCL has it down to a science, and it shouldn't be too bad. I think I read that US citizens go to the Walt Disney theatre and non-US residents go to another meeting place, maybe one of the restaurants?

Vicki....I knew GaRry would say I didn't listen well....that's why I said I'm probably just stupid. Because Jay would have said the same thing! LOL

I put pics of the piggy bank (the cruise one) on my photo page. I'm stalling on the repair work & laundry!
You can see it here:

Later!

Since no one is coming to help out this weekend and to protect us from Iving, I better listen to TinksDad and start shopping for some dive lights. Maybe I can sell the idea to DW as being part of hurricane preparation. That worked for the drysuit. I hope the drysuit is here before Ivan makes it.

Yes, NSB's ShowDolls is the team that does so well at the competitions. It's a great time, a lot of dedication, and a great asset to the school.

Happy Monday everyone!

I am going to try to post to see if I am still messing everything up. If so, I will head to the tech boards to see whats wrong.

We had a great weekend in PA. Sat we were at the soccer field all day. DS played 4 games. His team ended up in 3rd place, should have been 2nd but thats a long story. It was a beautifull sunny day in the high 80's. Sunday we went white water rafting. It was a lot of fun, but also hard work. My arms are very sore today. It was overcast and a little chilly, mid 60's but still a good time. We had about 8 rafts in our group, each with 5-6 people. They had bailers onboard that were used for splashing each other as we passed and everyone got wet. We spent about 3-4 hours on the water with a stop for lunch. I think the boys really enjoyed it and the parents as well. We drove home and got in a little before 9pm and I was in bed before 10. I was exhausted!!

Today we are busy getting the kids ready for school tomorrow. I still have laundry to do. DH leaves Thursday for 2 weeks, so trying to get hime ready for that also.

Glad our Fl friends are safe and didn't suffer too much. The next few weeks will be interesting to see how everything plays out with things affected.

Hope everyone has a great day.

So Paul, are you an on-air guy or a behind the scenes guy? Either way, interesting job!
I work behind the scenes repairing all the equipment. Cameras, monitors, transmitters and anything else breaks!

: To this day, he sleeps with Pooh, and Pooh has gone on every single trip we have ever made, even the cruises and out of the country.

Well, I'm back. Only 8 or 9 pages to catch up with!!!

Have to comment here. I have a Curious George stuffed animal I got when I was around 3. That thing went with me EVERYWHERE. He'd also get dressed up in doll clothes and pushed in the stroller. He went on every vacation and slept with me every night. I once threw a hissy fit when the Kellogg's employee told me I couldn't take him on the tour of the factory. He ended up going along in my mom's saddlebag purse with just his head sticking out. Apparently they didn't want to mess around with my kinda hissy fit. He lost an arm when my brother and uncle were using him for tug of war and lost a chunk of neck (now patched with calico) in an unfortunate dog bite incident.

He even (somehow) showed up at my wedding and went on my honeymoon with me!

He has retired to my headboard where he sleeps every night. :)
