Yay for boards!

Nice picture, Paul. Great looking couple. Looking forward to meeting you both on the cruise.

It is our monsoon season here too. Not a lot of rain, but much more humidity. Homes here are cooled with swamp coolers (probably the same in AZ?), and they don't work very well when it's humid. The clouds keep the temp down a bit, though.

Just spent over an hour digging through a closet trying to find a doll box. Sold the doll, gotta ship. What a productive use of time!

Diana,
We have the swamp (evaporative) coolers, too.....but we also have central air that I made DH turn on before we went to Omaha. And am I glad, now that we've had the rain!!
We usually wait until the first of August to turn off the swamp and turn on the air....but I couldn't handle it. WIMP!

Over on the Community Board, Alex posted why the boards were down (Alex sometimes visits us in Cruise chat, nice guy). He had been doing some maintenance last night, and got a call that his DD had to go to the hospital with pneumonia. He left to be with her, and forgot to turn the boards back on. So Stace, it's not your fault at all!

I'll have to drop by Mary's site to see Paul's lovely bride. It always amazes me how young a lot of people with teenagers look!

Hi everyone. Happy Tuesday afternoon. We got back yesterday from our 4 night Carnival Victory cruise. It was nice to go out of NY and no flying. An hour each way to the port. It was so beautiful leaving NY and seeing all the sights. We passed the statue of Liberty. We had a great trip. I tried to get on the boards several times yesterday and could not get on. The boat docked for one full day in Halifax, Canada. We took the children on Thedore the tug boat and it cruised the harbor for an hour. That was fun. Than we went to a very old candy and soda shop. The kids got their sugar high. The kids program on Carnival was awesome but by the 4th night the kids had enough. We went to a sing along in one of the rooms on the boat. It was great the piano player turned as he was singing and also played the harmonica. Billy Joel would of been impressed when he did the Piano Man. It was a blast and very packed. The last night I went an hour early just to get a seat around the piano. It would be so much fun for DCL to do this. Everyone was singing and having a great time. There was a song from the 70's called Alice. What a funny song that is with some not so nice words in it but lots of fun. We had connecting OV rooms. It was so nice. I am a little worried we did not do this on our trip with Disney. We have a cat. 10 SPH and I know now ot is going to be tight. Oh well to late now to cchange it and it would be very expensive. As for the food it was not that great but DH won $1000.00 in the casino at the 3 card poker table and I won $75.00 the last night on the slots. I usually do not go to the casino but DH loves poker and blackjack when we are on the ships. I won about $500.00 2 years ago on the wheel of fourtune slot machine but I was watching it on the cruise and it did not hit while we were there.

Leslie, I pm you about the Brunch. Welcome back.

For all the birthdays and anniversary's I missed I hope they were wonderful.

I would love to join you all in WDW in August but I can not move my work schedule around anymore. I will be thinking of you all.

Who will be joining us in Hershey?? I must be getting old as I can not remenber everyone joining us. We are staying at the Springhill suites that weekend. Lisa, That is so nice of you to offer to get the tickets. I will let you know . Thanks again.

MIL birthday tonight and we are going to Boulder Creek. I have been cleaning up the house before we go as everyone will be back for cake. MIL is a clean feek. I wish I took after her. I have such trouble cleaning up after the kids all the time. I feel like this is all I do. I have burn out from it.
Anyway, nned to go finish up. I will be back later. Gail

Does Pam have a dress to match your Minnie sundress, too???

As long as her swimsuit doesn't match your lime green thong, then I guess the matching outfits are okay!

We had another really good rain during dinner. Just wait until our flooding starts, I won't be doing such a happy dance. If it's flooding anytime near our cruise, I'll go stay in a hotel by the airport! (Believe me, it wouldn't be the first time!)

Still have company, better go.....see ya in a bit,
Stacey

It's getting ugly over on the 14 day cruise threads. Especially on the CA to FL thread. I'm glad I can come over here to this nice quiet thread and read about lime green thongs.:earseek:

Ken

Ken - Tell me about it! I posted my opinion on the CA - FL thread. Fortunately so far I haven't gotten flamed!

Paul

Ken, you should SEE the lime green thong!!!

Paul, my sister in law was here today with her son, who is visiting from Oregon. I don't know if I remembered to tell you, but he lives in Banks. He wanted to know what high school your DD had gone to.

What a beautiful night we have tonight. Very cool outside, and more rain to come!
Everyone needs to remember to look at the Blue Moon on the 31st. (Don't say it, Paul!)

Off for now....may end up heading for bed so I'll say good night now.

GOOD WEDNESDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS!

Stacey

Morning all. We are definitely looking for the ark. More rain!

Welcome back Gail, glad you had a good time.

We came home yesterday to find the kids and the sitter playing Life in the middle of the living room. With the rain, the satellite wasn't working, so they started playing a game. That's the first time I've seen DD sit down and play through an entire board game in forever! She just doesn't have the patience for it. I think she really likes this babysitter. Now we'll just have to lock her in for next summer too!

Have a great Wednesday everyone. Lisa

Happy Wednesday everyone!

We are getting more rain here too. Can't remember the last time I saw the sun.
DS has soccer camp next week, so hopefully it will be finished by then.
Lisa, I will let you know about the Hershey tickets. At this time I am not certain wether DH will be going or not. He is supposed to be out of town, but waiting to see if that holds. Thanks for the offer.

I am still trying to figure out transportation and the night before the cruise. What is everyone else doing?? We are currently at the Radisson, but thinking about changing to the Embassy Suites near MCO then going straight to port Sat morning. Our flight doesn't arrive until 5pm Friday, we wouldn't make it to the Radisson until after 6. All opinions welcome!!

Have a great day!

I know what you mean. People always have to find SOMETHING to complain about. It's not like the port we lost was any good anyways. We were only there for like 4 hours and we got there at 7:30 am. I think that if they don't like the itinerary, then the answer is simple - cancel you room. I'm sure that someone else would be THRILLED to go in their place. We did NOT pay the same for the August cruise as they did for the May cruise - I know because I booked them both when they first came out because we couldn't pick which one to go on. The August cruise was $500 less than the May cruise. If they didn't want so many days at sea then why on EARTH would they book a 14 day repositioning cruise??!!?? Think about it people. Ok. I'm done.

*steps down off soapbox*

Hi Holiday Cruisers!! Good morning!! Sorry about that. I just hate it when people whine about something that has a simple fix. How is everyone this fine day? I'm doing good. It's rainy, cool and dreary here today. I thought July was supposed to be hot and muggy?:sunny: Oh well. I have to work anyway, so what's the point of it being nice? It just makes the day drag.

Back to work. Have a good day all.

Good Morning everyone -
For our past cruises we have always just driven to the port the morning of the cruise. For this one, we decided to stay at the Radisson the night before, mainly because of the parking deal. Anyway, I called this morning to book the shuttle and was told I should call back one week prior to cruising. I questioned her repeatedly and was told that was the policy. (Told her I had the cruise package, etc.) After thinking about it, decided to try again. Was told the same thing, by a different person. Third time was the charm! As of now, the 5 of us are booked on the 10 am shuttle. They probably just got tired of having me call!

Paul -
Forgot to add - I'm with you about the CA - FL cruise. I'm looking forward to the days at sea. I was worried for you when I saw your post over there. I was ready with the fire extinguisher!
