Happy Wednesday All! Boy, I can finally get on the boards. I gave up for awhile, I got tired of trying!

Last year on RCCL we loved our sea days. I think we enjoyed all the sea days more than the ports because we could really relax, or get as involved as we wanted in activities.

Anyway, SIL was asking over the weekend about digital cameras and I said I would ask on the boards and see who knows the answer. His mother said a fellow cruiser told him that you can purchase a digital camera for a steal of a deal in St. Maartin. Anyone know the scoop on this? I suggested he start looking on the internet to see what he is looking for and narrow down what he wants, figure what he can buy it for, and then take that info with him if he can wait that long. Anyway, anyone with the insight, please let me know. I'd appreciate some feedback for him.

Okay, work to do. Talk to you all soon!

Linda

Tina

We are getting in at about 3:30pm and will be staying at the Embassy Suites Friday night. Then off to the Port in the morning. We have stayed at the Hyatt before, but wanted to do something different this time.

Linda, I'm sure they do sell digital cameras on ST. Martin, they sell everything else. You might want to post the question on the regular cruise board for a wider audience.

Tina, did you get my e-mail?

We will be staying near the airport the night before, getting in very late. Nothing like starting your cruise in sleep deprivation.

I love days at sea on DCL! There's so much to do! Wish I were going. Still haven't convinced DD she should home school though.

Hey ya'll!

Last time I posted on this thread was oooooh about page 100. Can one of you regulars give a guy some Cliff Notes to what's going on with this cruise?

Mini meet at WDW next week. gaRry will be bringing Boone's Farm and corked wine - I bet he didn't know that one.
Mini meet at Hershey Park in Sept.
Lots of talk about lots of rain on the east coast.

Gatherings huh? Kewl!

Any more neat-o specifics on the cruise itself? (Sorry, I 've been outa commish fpr a while)

Hi all. Our flight gets in about noon on the Friday before the cruise. We're staying at the Pop Century and we're going to tour the resort decorations until we head to MVMCP. Then it's off to the port Saturday morning. It will be 2 long days in a row for us. Our flight leaves at 6 am Friday and MVMCP lasts until midnight, so we'll be kinda tired for the first day of the cruise, but it doesn't matter to me because I don't sleep for about a week before a trip anyways. I get too excited.:bounce:  :hyper: :Pinkbounc

Wow....fingers were flying this morning!!!
Let's see...we were going to stay at the Hyatt, but changed our reservation to the Grand Floridian so we could enjoy the lights, sounds and magic in the World.
If I weren't doing that, I think I'd be trying to join that crazy group at the Radisson!

Linda....checking out what to buy on the internet is a great idea. I've never been able to wait long enough to buy something like that at one of the stops. I buy it here so I can play with it, and figure it out before I go.

I think I'm looking forward to the sea days as much as the ports. That's why ten whole days was so appealing. I wish we could have done the 14....all the more days on the Magic!

Hey, Herc.....welcome back. Briefly...we are going to meet the other DIS'ers the first day on the ship at....did we decide where?....at the sail-away party Deck 10 Starboard?
Still ironing out details for a wine & cheese (or your choice of BYOB) party...possibly on Deck 7 Aft "secret" outdoor area. No date/time in stone yet.
Other than that, we have talked about everything, nothing, and some serious silliness. We have tossed out ideas for shore excursions, still questioning how much will be open on Dec 25th...still guessing as to the number of formal nights...
Basically, we don't know much, but we have many, many theories!
We've taken packing ideas...do you have any good tips?
Many of us are going to be decorating our staterooms. gaRry's will be the one done in tie-dye........
Can't think of anything that is an absolute must-know. Mostly because we don't have too many specifics. A bunch of us will be in WDW next weekend...care to join us?
ANother group has a meeting in Hershey Park....they can fill you in on that.

Off to get more coffee.....starting to sound like gaRry!!!

Not a one. I plan on taking a ga-billion suitcases. The only thing I plan on doing to reduce packing is the rental tux for formal night (And I picked that up here) :D

Wish I could. I'm still working on finding someway to take care of the big dumb dog come December. :headache:

Ha! I already made reservations at the Doggy Hotel for the big dumb dog. You are WAY behind schedule!!!

We're actually looking at pet sitters. No one's been able to really give a good reference to 'Doggy hotels' around here.

Stacey-don't forget, Paul's room will be decorated.......in lime green?......Minnie speedos?

Linda

Linda.....LOL...that's right, how could I forget???

Leslie....Barb & her family, gaRry & his family, Diana & her DD, myself and my oldest DD, Cindy & her DH (and we keep bugging WVMD to come too) are going to be in WDW beginning Thursday, the 5th. I leave on Monday, and I think gaRry leaves Monday or Tuesday. Cindy is in for the weekend, Diana is staying longer, as is Barb.
Thursday we are getting together for dinner, Friday too I think...the biggest "meet" is Saturday at the Rose & Crown, and Sunday evening a bunch of us are going to the Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island. Take your pick!!!!!
Not sure where we are eating Friday....that one was supposed to be gaRry's decision....but he hasn't said where yet. Right, gaRry?? Or did you forget?
Do you think you can come too, Leslie? Wow...that would be amazing! We'd have a huge group! Check it out, and see what day/days or nights would work for you. Then PM me, and I'll give you details.

I would normally not leave Molly at a pet resort, but there's a new place right up here that is so unbelievable. They have TV's, beds, doggy ice cream bars, multiple play times.....Molly thinks she's at the Hilton when she's there. I still have the guilt....but she gets more attention with them than she usually does here!

Gotta run....I am not getting anything done today...I wonder why?

They have places like that around here. But they're only for medium to small dogs. Mine is a German Shepherd and even the largest runs are small for him. :(

.....oh yeah and then there's the cat.

:p LOL....I think this place that Molly goes to is meant for the little frou frou dogs, too.......and she's a Lab mix. But they do have some "rooms" large enough for her, thank goodness.
And no more kitties. My baby passed away a couple of years ago, and I can't get another, it wouldn't be the same.

Leslie, we haven't been to a pin trading event in a year, what's the best one to go to now? We will be there 8-7 through 8-15. As Stacey said, we will be busy the first Saturday and Sunday nights, and I think we have plans for Monday and Wednesday night as well. Any good pin trading nights left? I figure you would know!

We need to start looking for a place for our dog.....and we don't even HAVE the dog yet!! Cat will be easy, someone will come daily to take care of it here (it's an outdoor cat--can't just leave 3 days worth of food or the 'coons will get it overnight)

but the dog.....

btw, we're picking her up Friday, August 6th!!

I made dog ressies when I picked him up after our trip to Texas and I wasn't the first on the list for Christmas. Not sure about the cats yet. Our neighbors usually come over and feed them, but we will be gone for a full 2 weeks and at Christmastime not sure if I should even ask.

Diana, no email from you , will send you a PM

The sun finally poked out briefly this afternoon. It is supposed to be fairly nice tomorrow and then more rain!

We have to get a babysitter for our cat Elvis. He doesn't like kennels, quits eating and pouts. He has to have humans to sit and sleep on for hours every day. My husband is not looking forward to being alone with the cat when we are in WDW. Elvis makes him do double duty. Yes, he's a bully.
