I haven't seen it mentioned before, but I just noticed that they have now posted some shore excursions for St. Lucia on the DCL webpage.

It looks like there is pirate excursion just for Virgil.

Ken

On another note - my DD, who will be 13 at cruise time, is somewhat concerned about connecting with some of the other kids on the cruise. It sounds like many of the other DD in her age group are into fashion and boys much more then she is at this point.

One thing she is very into right now is Anime art and cartoons. So, I just thought I would ask if there are any other kids on the "Holiday" cruise that are also into Anime.

If so, let me know and we can setup some communications.

Ken

Ken - thanks for the Pirate tip.... :p BTW - don't worry about your daughter.... plenty of time for her to get interested in boys between now and the cruise.....:teeth:

Wow - the boards are slow today....

Virgil, I don't think Ken is worried in that direction. Ken, Alicia likes boys, but it's more a look but don't touch stage. She's not dating yet. And she likes Anime and art. I think she draws cartoons and posts them on the Web, and she likes the cartoon books from Japan. Tell Staci to e-mail her again.

Sorry I haven't been around. I actually spilled a glass of wine on my keyboard last night, and had to go buy a new one. I don't get it, when my cat spilled my wine on my keyboard a few months ago, it was OK. I guess it had a two glass limit.

Thanks for posting the excursions, Mary. No whale watching tours, I love those. The one with two hours of snorkeling sounds good though. Anyone liking that one, so I won't be lonely? The Pirate excursion sounds like a blast, would love to see that ship, but I might feel a little silly on that one by my lonesome.

Might be a good excursion to make Kristin take Lauren and KT on. That way - we know that they'll listen - and she'll make sure that the horses are appropriate for them - and we don't have to go.... - and Kristin get's to go riding as an added benefit.... (Kristin is on the WVU Equestrian team).....

Ken, my DD truly loves Danny Phantom, which is a relatively new Nick toon. She's started drawing her own cartoons, and carries a notebook everywhere she goes now. She also has discovered the paint program on the computer, and draws a lot with it.

She also hasn't gotten into boys yet. She'll be almost 13 on the cruise. She'd love to hear from your daughter.

Gail, DD really loved camp. I think she enjoyed being the wiser, older girl with a lot of the younger kids. They visited a variety of farms around the area (mostly Mennonite), picked fruit, milked goats, made jelly and other stuff I've forgotten. She also informed me that her unit won the "loudest group" award. Somehow, I wasn't surprised !!!

And Karen, the way I read the comment about skills assessment is that the aren't going to put a novice on a fiery steed, nor are they going to put an expert on a horse that won't move above a walk. Depending on the make up of the group, they'll adjust the tour. It actually sounds like a pretty good program to me. But we should see what GaRry and Vicki think, since they're horse experts!!

The boards are really in and out tonight. Guess everyone has given up and taken the night off.

I'm here! This is the first chance I've had to get on them.

Mary - Thanks for posting the excursions. I'm sure that there is a snorkling one the DW will want to do.

It has been pretty quiet here today. I guess everyone's letting their fingers cool down from all of yesterdays posts!

Don't forget me.

I also have to say that gaRy, I thought it took more than a post to get that excited. Paul and I were recalling the cruise we were on with you and Vicki, and I remembered something about a can of whip cream you got at Palo. That seemed to get you all real excited. LOL

Pam

Morning all. Pamela glad you're joining us. I'm assuming you're Paul's wife? Hopefully I'm not confused (easily done!).

Nothing really exciting happening here today, but I'll check the rest of the board and see if there's anything happening.

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Tuesday!

Not sure which excursions we'll be doing yet. Have to look it over with Mark - maybe over the weekend.

Pam - when are we going to get a picture of you for the photo gallery? We have Paul in a picture with Stacey from Vegas, but I'd love to have one up of the two of you! :D

Off to read the rest of the boards and then to work!

Hi All!

Just thought I would check in. We got back from Vegas Sunday and then went to the lake for the afternoon. Now the girls and I are getting ready to go to Destin, FL for a week. We leave tomorrow. I haven't had a chance to catch up on all the posting yet but maybe tonight. I don't know if I am taking the laptop with me or not so I might not be checking in again for a week.

Just to let you know, my Mom is doing good. She was moved out of ICU on Sunday night and the doctor said she is doing fine. Just trying to get her up and walking and eating solid foods so she can go home. The girls and I are going back out to Vegas, Aug 5-16 so we can spend a little more time with her, since she was in the hospital the whole time we were there in July. Thanks again for all your thougts and prayers and keep us in mind, because there is still a long road ahead.

Take care, and have a great day.
LeiLani

Leilani, that's good news! What's going on in Destin, a beach vacation?

Having trouble posting and getting on the boards today. Am I the only one?

Nope - you're not the only one... the boards are really slow today...

LeiLani - that is great news about you mom - Thanks for keeping us informed.... I hope that you have a great time in FL.

Hello everyone,
Thoufht I would check in and say hi.
Leilani- Great news about your mom.
Mary- thanks for the St Lucia shore excursion stuff.
we have lots of decisions to make in the next few months. Can't decide what to do, too many choices!!!

We haven't been doing too much around here, just trying to catch up from being away.
My ( soon to be 13 ) daughter is also an art lover. She is currently doing a camp at our local pottery store. She enjoys drawing and painting too. So those girls should have a lot in common!

Hope eveyone is having a good week!!

LeiLani - great news about your mom. Got your pm and sent you an e-mail (it was too long for a pm) :D

Enjoy Florida.

Didn't get much chance to get on the boards today. We're they slow or is it just becaue we miss Stacey :D
