Just a little rain here in Central Texas.

We here in Dallas (Mostly Lancaster and DeSoto) got dumped on. Parts of the metroplex got 13 inches of rain! In one night no less! Thankfully we live on top of a hill.

I've been trying to get my city to organize some scuba lessons as a recreational activity. So far not enough folks are interested. Looks like I have to do the commercial course. Oh well.

Good Morning!!

Leslie...never mind the doggy names, Dopey here just realized that you have them below the picture!

Hi Gail!! That camp sounds pretty amazing. If I sent mine to one like that, they wouldn't want to come home. Hmmm....

DL's DTD is obviously nothing compared to WDW's.....there is a World of DIsney, and a Lego store with the tourist (he's Jay's buddy while the kids and I shop).....but a Serpent on a lake?
Disney At Home? Does that mean I will be redecorating one or more of the rooms in my house? I guess I need to get a book and study DTD! I think I see some plans changing. ::yes::

We've been snorkeling with our diving friends for 18 years, and never once have I been tempted to dive. In the places we've gone, we have managed to see almost as much as they have, and at times we've seen some things they missed.
Just watching them with all their gear, and the log books, and all the "rules" about waiting between dives, and not diving the day before they fly home....sorry, that's just too much work for a "vacation". Just give me my mask & fins, and I'm a happy little swimmer.

Lynda.....what are we going to do with you?? You must stop all these little accidents.....we need you here! And why were you picking on a poor defenseless little Boston Terrier? LOL Actually, I had one from the 11th grade until the year Jay and I met, and they can be overprotective, and a tad nasty. Just ask Jay, who almost lost his hand to mine!
Anyway...heal up soon!

Back in a few.

Stacey

Stace, I have big plans for you :jumping1: :scared1: :scared1: . I hope your DH will still like me and still want to cruise with me next year ::yes:: .

Stace-you will love shopping there! Take your charge card. There is a really great store that I love there called The Basin. They have all these great soaps and bath bombs! Great to put in the jacuzzi at OKW in our tub!!!!

Oh, and don't forget to go to Once Upon A Toy. You need to make your own Mr or Mrs Potato Head. One price for everything you can get into one box. We have had so much fun doing that.

And then......well, I'll let you figure it out. I am so jealous. When are you going again and how long are you staying?

Linda

:Pinkbounc We leave next Thursday the 5th...come home Monday the 9th. Darn work!

You guys have to stop telling me all the places I can spend money!! I'm going to be in BIG trouble. What I need is someone to give me a list of things that I absolutely can't live without, and the excuse I can give my DH!!!

Okay, as we are winding down. Do you realize it is only

SEVEN MORE WEEKS until we pay off the cruise in full?

Now, not that I want to finish paying for all the kids staterooms, but that just means it's getting close!!!!!!

Linda

P.S. I want to go to WDW? How can I get away without DD and DH knowing and sneak in a trip between now and then?

Telling him "But it was on SALE! " doesn't work very well anymore.
Neither does "But think of the money I saved you!"

:teeth:

His answer is usually "You'd save me MORE money, if you would just stay HOME!"

Now how much fun would that be??????

Stace-that's just not long enough....maybe you could call in sick and extend?

Linda

I've tried that too. That's why I have a credit card with my name and when in doubt I put it on that and then he doesn't even know about it. And then, when I am wearing something three months later and he says "Is that new?" I say, no, I've had it a couple of months.

And he says "OH", kinda like a Goofy look, and then off he goes!!!

Oops, I'm telling my secrets!

Linda

I do that too!! LOL Do we think alike, or what???

Okay, you men out there, you didn't just read that! ;)

I had a boss that used that ploy to buy fishing equipment. "Gee dear, is that fishing pole new?" - "Why no honey, I've had it for a long time."

Ken

Yeah.....now come to think of it, I think the DH does that too! Guns, ammo and fishing stuff.

Try looking on scubaboard.com for a private instructor. There are a great deal of instructors who will do very small groups of students which gives you much better instruction and flexibility

If you plan on diving the cruise, just make sure you have several open water dives before the cruise. The best time to practice is at home. 100 ft below the water is a bad time to figure things out.

This is important for all divers which is why they offer refresher courses.

BTW - to everyone who has been harassing Paul about his green thong. Ever wonder what a diver wears under the wetsuit?

Mine doesn't do that....he just buys it (his is tools, which he already has at least 3 of every tool ever made) and says "I needed it".
That's when I buy a new ring and say..."I needed it!"
Works for us.

Thanks for the info "Scubadiver"

If St. Thomas is out, I can go ahead and plan some other excursion instead.
By the way has anyone here experienced "seatreking".......was wondering if it would something for my 10 year old.
How about the submarine excursion in St. Thomas? ( I think it is there )

Thanks Lisa.....for the shirt info.

It good to be back again ....thanks Mary

WHOO HOO!!!! THE FEMALE PIRATE STRIKES AGAIN!!!!

Doesn't take much to get me excited, does it???

Guess I can go to work now.

princess: pirate:

Jim (aka Scuba Diver), I'm glad I'm not the only one that said "as if!" Actually, Alicia wasn't all that keen on the idea. What, miss dinner and a night at the teen club? Not to mention that it's Christmas Eve. I'm sure Saba is wonderful, but you know, a week on St. Martin someday wouldn't be so bad from a non-diver's perspective. Nice shopping and restaurants on that island. See, another trip! Divers like that.
