20040410 - Roll Call April 10, 2004 Easter Cruise!!

dtheboys,

We have not signed DD up for this excursion. Since it starts at 9:00 a.m. I am doubtful she would do it. Teenage girls also like to sleep in!!!

Parasailing is so much fun. We have not done it on CC but here in NJ. We're thinking of doing the banana boat. That looks like fun!

Will not be going on Wild Side...Thanks...see this board really helps!
ok, parasailing, and hanging out at the beach...sounds nice!!!
Thanks!!!!!

My daughter did it on our last cruise and enjoyed it very much, she has opted not to go this time out and spend more time on the beach. She is signed up for the Teen Catamran trip though.

Hi,
Can we get an idea if any teens are going to sign up for "The Wild Side" trip on CC?
My son asked if anyone else that I knew was going?
I told him I would ask.....
Has any one of your kids participated on this excursion on prior trips? Is it fun? Is it worth it?
I signed up to Parasail w/ my 14yr old son...the wife chickened out....
Thanks...see ya soon
Oh...The reason I ask is the Wild Side hours( 4Hours) will conflict w/ our scheduled times to parasail. If this is fun, and teens are all going. I can reschedule our parasail time.

My DW and two DS have signed up for the banana boat ride. I will try to take pics of them as they ride. I watched it last year and everybody raves on how great it is. It looks like a blast.

Leilana...Have fun in Disney World. If you go to Epcot and ride the new Mission Space attraction..let us know how it is!! Have a great trip!!!

Dennis

Thanks Dennis!

Unless something happens I do plan on riding Mission Space at least once. I will definitely let you know how it is. I plan on taking the laptop so I can check in occasionally, but usually I drag it along and get on it maybe once. We'll see how it goes this time. At least I won't have to take it on the cruise.

Joe my son( 14) also signed up for the teen Cataraman trip.:teeth:

Hi Everyone!

We are from Seattle. There are approx. 18 of us from 1 family. DH will be on crutches. Can't miss us! Can't believe that it's just "next month". Woo Hoo!!!

WELCOME Luvbnmama,

We have about 12 families from the Dis boards going on this cruise. LieLani is scheduling a DIS meet on our first day at sea. She is staying in a Cat 1, and that's we're we are meeting. What a treat. She is currently away at WDW for spring break.

She has put together a list of cruise families with names, ages of kids, how many cruises you've been on before, room #, and what seating early or late for the dining room.

I can see you are also new to these boards. I suggest you to visit two web sites which are visited by many of us. they have loads of info on our cruise, menu's, navigators (daily info schedule sheets).

They are www.castawayclub.com and www.dcltribute.com

welcome again and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask either here or in the regular forum.

Hello all! So excited to have found this discussion forum. This is our first cruise for me, my husband, kids (5, 3, & 8 months), in-laws and bro-in-law. In fact, this is my mom-in-law's 60th b-day gift to herself - a family cruise.

Anyone have any good tips for us first timers?

We're all very excited but I'm a bit overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I need to pack!

Looking forward to a great cruise and some warm weather!

Miechelle

Welcome Aboard!

I would suggest keep reading these boards and also read the 2 sites Kenny mentioned above for some great tips. There is also a packing list put together by someone on this board which you can find by doing a search.

We are getting close. Just four more weeks!

Hello to everyone from sunny:smooth: and warm :sunny: Destin, FL. It was 8 degrees when we flew out of Minneapolis yesterday morning and 75 when we landed here at noon. We are here for 2 days to visit family and then we will drive to WDW tomorrow morning.:bounce: ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

A big welcome to all the new DISers who have joined the thread. I have to third (I guess?) KennyK's and Beachbum3's advice about getting info from the DIS boards and the two websites Kenny gave you. But you also have several experienced cruisers on this thread so if you should have any questions please ask away. As Kenny said in his post, we were lucky enough to nab a Cat 1 so we are planning on a meet and greet in our suite on Monday. Also, I have been putting together a list with information for everyone going on the cruise. If you want to be added to the list please email me at LNaylor863@aol.com. The information I have been putting on the list is: names & ages, cabin number, city & state you live in, early or late seating for dinner, number of DCL cruises, and any special occasions you might be celebrating. I will have to update the list after I return home on the 21st, but if you send the info I will take care of it.

I have the laptop with me so I will try to keep up to date, but you know how that goes when you are visiting the mouse.

Everyone have a great weekend.

I just booked the Shipwreck snorkel tour today with Disney. Anyone else plan on doing that excursion? I know many of you are going to Stingray City with Captain Marvin, so we may be the only DISers on our adventure! It is so close now, almost time to start packing!

Have a good week!:wave2:

Ok,
We booked the Stingray tour in GC, but we don't know what to do in Cozumel???
We have never been there, and just want to hit the beach!!

Can anyone help w/ a SAFE, CLEAN, beach???

We have never been to Cozumel, and don't want to venture where we don't belong.

The Disney beach excursion is like $30.00 per person, for what?
can't i get to the beach on my own? Is taking a Taxi safe in Cozumel?

We are busy in key West, Snorkeling in grand cayman, so we just want to be beach bums in Cozumel...ANY help????
I'll take any ideas!!
Thanks, see ya soon,
Doug

Doug,

We were going to take a cab to Mr. Sanchos beach but we might try Paradise Beach instead. It sounds really nice. The beach and activities are free they just want you to purchase food & drinks. The website is www.cozumel-beach.com

When you get off the ship there will be plenty of taxi's to take you to the beach. Just make sure you agree on the price upfront. We went to Playa Sol Beach last time we were in Cozumel on our own. It was easy to get to and safe.(Just close your eyes when they drive-just kidding!)

Hope this helps.

Patti

Well we're sold! Maybe it was the snappy version of "Cheesburger in Paradise" that plays after you've been at the site for about 1 minute (consider yourself warned...our speakers were up relatively high and I was really caught off guard!LOL)
Or maybe it was the phrase "lounging on the beach with a Margarita"... Whatever it was, this looks like the beach for us.
Is anyone else having a hard time concentrating on their day to day stuff??? Like I told KennyK on another post, my boys are no longer counting the days, we're talking in terms of hours here!

:jumping1:

Hello everyone :wave2: from WARM & SUNNY... did I say WARM & SUNNY WDW (well it did rain today but it is supposed to be sunny the rest of the week). They got 5 inches of snow in Iowa yesterday. I am so glad we are here.::yes:: We went to Magic Kingdom today and had a great time. It rained most of the day but we just put on the panchos and chugged along. We had the Illuminations cruise planned for this evening so I had my fingers crossed all day hoping it wouldn't be cancelled and it wasn't.:jumping1: . We had a really great time. We are doing MGM and Fantasmic tomorrow.

Doug,

If the waitlist for the Dolphin Swim does not come through we are planning on going to Paradise Beach. Cozumel Sally and several people from the boards have said it is a great beach.

Every time we walk by the model of the ship in the lobby we all say, "That's where we will be in less than a month. :boat:

For those of you on the East coast I hope it doesn't snow too much. I will try to check in again later this week.

LeiLani

Beachbum3............Thanks.........

Ok, I'm heading to Paradise Beach....great site...Thanks!!!

It looks very nice, and just a mellow day at the beach.....

once again.....Thanks!

Doug

Hello all new Diser's who are going on the Easter Cruise,

Glad to have all you aboard! Any questions...just shoot.

Many of us have decided to go on the Stingray city tour in GC. Leilana set us all up in the same tour boat. Let her know if you would like to be added and I am sure she will not have a problem making a phone call.

By the way Leilana..How was Mission space ride in Epcot?
Glad you are having a great time. We had about 6 inches of snow here on Long Island yesterday. You are definetely in a better place than here.

Kenny K....never recieved your aim or e-mail address. Maybe you can send me pm or reply to this thread. Figured the kids would want to talk soon since we are getting close. My e-mail address is danseglio@bnl.gov and my aim name is eilaxdad13.

Any body else out there that has DS's that would be interested in talking to my Ds's (12 and 10). We went on last year's Easter cruise and they still AIM kids from that cruise.

Getting closer everybody!!!! Almost in the teens.

Can't wait for this weather to break and get down to Port Canaveral!!!

I rode my Motorcycle on Monday to work and then it snows..Oh well...Hopefully it melts quick!!

Talk to you all soon and welcome newcomers!!!
