Those of you who went to MVMCP (Mickeys' Christmas Party) in 2002, how were the crowds? In particular
-- how did it compare to previous years?
-- did it appear to be "oversold"?
-- was it so crowded that it affected your enjoyment of the event?
-- which day did you go?

We went on a Tuesday last year and it worked out great!! Our first time there so I can't comment on previous years but we were able to ride just about everything we wanted to pretty early on. The only "long line" I remember was at HM of all places! My sister and I got in no problem but DH & I went back 30 minutes later and the line was huge!! So we didn't go. We got seats for the first parade only 20 minutes prior and got a great location - best parade experience I've ever had. Only thing I didn't care for were the cookies and hot chocolate but loved everything else!

We also went for the first time last year. We were there Sun, Dec 8 and I didn't think it was too crowded. Got our picture taken first thing in Fantasyland, enjoyed many rides, saw a show, got good seats for the parade on 10 minutes before it started and saw the fireworks. Plan to do it again this year!!! :smooth:

2002 was the first year that we went --Tuesday night, Dec 3 and I was surprised how empty it was. We really didn't have to wait for anything. I truly expected worse.

We went on Tuesday Dec 10 and it was not very crowded, less crowded than previous years. I think it helped that they added additional nights last year. In 2001, it was Sunday, Thursday, Friday, in 2002 they added Tuesday. I believe only Fridays sold out.

We went on Dec. 3 (Tues.)last year with a bunch of other DIS'ers and I didn't think the crowds were bad at all. Many, many rides were walk-ons. We all grouped together in Liberty Square to watch the first parade and got a fine viewing area with no problems at all.

In general, I think crowd levels in early in Dec. are much lower than later.

We went dec 1 and 3 and didn't think the crowds were that bad. We went twice in 2000 too and one night it was terrible. I don't know the dates but it would of been the 2nd week of dec.

Another Tues Dec 10 here - it seemed really empty - we walked right up for the 1st parade like 4 or 5 minutes before it started and still had a front row seat

I attended my first MVMCP Dec 2002. I went on a Sunday night Dec 8. I was with a bunch of Disers there for Dis con. Our night was great, not crowded at all. Took us maybe a 20 minue wait to have our group pic taken and that was the longest we waited for anything. Our night was not sold out.

We went on Dec. 20 which was the last one. It was the first one we had been to, so can't compare to previous years, but it was pretty crowded. Not as horrible as Spring Break, but definitely not empty.

We didn't go this past Dec. (2002) but we did go in Dec. 2001 & it was sooooooo crowded that we went to City Hall on Main Street & got a refund. We were very disappointed.

I am glad to hear that they added an extra day in 2002 & that it was not crowded for most of you. That's what we had hoped for when we went. Oh well.........

We hit the last party in 2002 on Dec 20. It was crowded and the lines for the family photos seemed longer than in previous years. But it was still better than the days later on in the week and we got to ride on everything we wanted. We stayed until the party was about over.
