fake and green - wonder if even that will survive the two hoodlum kittens we have...

We now use only artificial. When my kids were little, it was a huge thing every year to go to a local tree farm and cut our own. After a few years of that, it finally occured to us why DS and I had really bad "colds" that lasted the entire season!

I broke down and bought a pre-lit tree about three years ago. It was beautiful but unfortunately only lit up one year. Never could figure out which bulb or fuse was causing it not to work so now we're back to stringing lights, which is my least favorite holiday chore...

Pre-lit green!

Haven't had a real tree for a couple of years now, I am thinking maybe next year as I will not be home this year.

Years and years ago we went to a tree farm and it was freezing cold outside. I picked what I thought was the right sized tree, I guess the cold made my eyesite a little off :rolleyes1 The height was okay, the width on the other hand. It had to be more than 6 feet wide.

Sounds like a Griswold family Christmas! Did you hear the angels sing when you found the tree? ;)

We have a fake tree, green and pre-lit for the years that we will be traveling to families houses.

But when we are home for Christmas, we buy real.

My ears were so numb that they could have been playing trumpets in my ears and I wouldn't have heard them. It is surprising though that we didn't bring home a critters or 10 as big as that tree was! :rotfl:

We opened that sucker up and it did that TIMBER sound. But the funniest thing of all was, I went with my DS and her family so we had two trees. We undid mine from the top of her SUV and retied theirs. On their way home it flew off the top of the truck and landed in the median of the highway, it took them 30 minutes to find it. :rotfl:

Artificial, of course! Allergies suck!

It's green and pre-lit. :thumbsup2

Never a fake one, sorry. I must get a real one every year and go through all of the hassle of cleaning needles out of the carpet for months after Christmas, LOL.

Artificial Green. About 8ft, I think.

I can't wait for it to get bad enough to be worth replacing! I want a prelit tree! Less trouble but just as pretty - SIGN ME UP!

At present we have an artificial tree (green, about 7 ft.) which originally belonged to my grandparents. They gave it to my parents shortly after they were married and I grew up with it. DH and I have used it since the year we were married when my parents bought a new pre-lit tree. I love my artificial tree and would never have a real one (for many reasons).

Unfortunately, the poor thing has seen better days (heck, it's way older than I am) and DH has decided we're getting a new one this year. Anyone know a good place to buy a non-pre-lit tree (we have a gold and purple lighting theme we want to keep)?

I'm also getting a small fibre-optic tree this year from my grandmother who has been moved into assited living and doesn't want it anymore.

Artificial. Green. Pre-lit in white that we then string with colored lights as well.

You granddaughter doesn't have anywhere to use it? I'm sure there is a little girl in your area who would love it! !

Her parents purchased one for her room several years ago, but now that you mention it - I wonder if her best friend has one? She comes from a divorced family - lives part-time with mom and part-time with dad.. Maybe she could use it at one place or the other? Thanks for that great suggestion.:thumbsup2

real tree...usually a Frazier Fir!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

I was at a Home Depot store a couple of days ago, and was amazed that they have about fifteen different types (lit/unlit) on display.

You should try there! (plus you can get some "paint chips" heheheheheh)
