Are they in full swing on tv in your area?

Halloween ended and the flood gates opened! Holiday music and commercials seem to be everywhere suddenly around here. My husband and I noticed it while watching TV Saturday. Walgreens and Target stand out.

They're getting pretty heavy here.. The one I noticed in particular is a popular area around here where you can pick your own tree and cut it down.. They are encouraging people to come in now and "tag" their tree so it will be ready..

In a way it seems early for all of this - but on the other hand, we all know how it seems like we blink our eyes and start thinking, "Oh my gosh! Christmas is only XXXX from now and I still have so much to do!!"

I'm not in a rush to think about it, but I guess I should start..;)

Not yet, but the decorations in the stores went up before Halloween. It bugs.

speaking of tagging tree's we should REALLY do this soon! And yes they are really pushing the chirstmas commercials here. Alot of overstock ones and a few targets that I've seen so far... I need to start shopping. The kids have lists a mile long :(

Toys R Us is really pushing their "80 page catalog" on the tv.. Ugh..

Yes they are. I forgot about this one. Mine dont even need the book they just want everything they see on TV

There haven't been many in my area. I intend on taking advantage of the "Christmas" ad touting the fact that Kmart has layaway.

Christmas and layaway...it's a good thing! :santa:

Oh yeah. Target usually starts the onslaught, and didn't fail me this year.

Though it's kinda like my ancestors could tell things in nature that told them the seasons were changing, I have media ads! :lmao:

Just from the time I posted this last night until today, the ads on tv have doubled!!!

LOL, just as I spotted this thread, the commercial for "KMart; Layaway for Christmas" came on so I guess my answer would be 'yes'!

My problem is, I get ready for each holiday way too early. In September, I was ready for halloween - by last week I was so sick of looking at jack o lanterns! If I'm not careful I'll do the same thing for Christmas... :rolleyes1

I heard a Christmas song on the radio today :scared1:

I saw a report on the news that the reason for the early push of Christmas is to give more time to shop for the Holidays. Most retailers are expecting at least a 15% drop in revenue from holiday shopping this year.

They're in full swing here and I LOVE it! Everytime I here Christmas music in a commercial it gets me all excited!

An oldies station in Boston played Christmas/holiday music today, exclusively, and will continue to do so until Christmas day.

I listened to holiday songs all day and loved it(I'm still listening)!

I love Christmas, so I don't mind the commercials (plus, they haven't been too overbearing here.....yet). Earlier tonight, I saw the one for the fried onion thingies that you put on green bean casserole, the one where the pine tree reaches inside the house for a spoonful and after it eats it, it's suddenly dripping with Christmas lights. Always liked that one; it's been airing for years now. :goodvibes

I find the K-Mart layaway ad annoying because something about the way the husband says the word "pumpkins" makes my hair stand on end.

The Christmas commercials started popping up on midnight Nov. 1st, although that Kmart layaway one was showing like two weeks before Halloween.

I have mixed feelings about it. I tend to get super excited for Christmas and want to start celebrating before I should. But then by the time the actual holiday gets here, I'm on Christmas burnout and want nothing more to do with it. I try to suppress the urge to start celebrating early in order to prevent this from happening, but it's hard to do when Christmas is everywhere! :rolleyes1
