20% Cash Back on Orbitz Tickets w/Ebates

Hi

It's a great deal...we are planning to go to WDW on March 8th (2 weeks from now !!)

For those who ordered Disney World theme park tickets, when did you get the tickets after the day you ordered (by mail?)

I live in Canada.
Thanks
TC

What an awesome deal!! I love Ebates :lovestruc

Is this something that Orbitz/Ebates does often? I am going on two DL trips next year and this would really work out nice for me. ::yes::

Ebates has been offering 10% on activity purchases over the last six months or so, this is the first time I have seen 20% offered.

That's a shame as the WDW vouchers do not have "valid dates", and the admission tickets themselves are valid indefinitely until first use.
It really is. I just ordered two days ago and then my husband told me he got approved for leave earlier than we thought, so we could go a day earlier. But since the valid date locks us in, and I didn't make it any earlier (what I get for booking when I'm doing a million other things and sick to boot), we're stuck.
The disney agent I spoke with was actually pretty rude (and I was just asking for information, certainly not for her to change anything I bought through another site). The orbitz guy was very nice and tried to help, but policy is policy. I'm annoyed, but mostly at myself.

I wonder what would happen if I buy the tickets I chose when I put in the dates from today all the way till 12/31 on the first page. Would my tickets show 10 months of dates on them? I would guess that all tickets can be used as soon as you get them, but hotels, etc would need to wait. Just a guess on my part, I'm sure others know better.

When you arrive, maybe give it a go one or two days early at the ticket booth to see what happens? The worst is that they say no and you have to come back on your specified day.

Does the voucher have a barcode on it? I wonder if the "valid dates" are actually in the Disney system (i.e., attached to a barcode) or rather they are just there for Orbitz.

I thought about that too. Unfortunately, the longest time period for which I have been able to get the vouchers to come up on Orbitz is one month. So I suggest anybody purchasing to input the maximum number of days around your planned trip to maximize flexibility.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll either add a stop at Mojave National Preserve (we're driving, and the trip is crammed with national parks), or try it out the day before and do other things in Anaheim the night we were planning to go to DL. I just need to remember that 2 days are bonuses anyway since we were planning 3 day hoppers before I committed to this deal. :)

Also, for those of you new to ebates....don't worry, it is completely legit. I've been using it for about 5 years and gotten back almost $1000. Most of my rebates are much smaller than this one.
And if you don't have an account and wouldn't mind letting someone refer you, I'm sure many of us would be happy to via PM (assuming we can't post our link here) so we get the referral bonus (it doesn't impact you at all). :goodvibes

Totally legit! I have been using Ebates since 2001 and have received over $2,300 in cash back without ever having a problem that was not resolved with a simple email (and that's really rare).

Give it a day or so, and be sure to contact Ebates if you don't see it within 3 days is my rule-of-thumb for it.
Also as others have noted, you can get quite a bit in cashback as it adds up, but there are also other cashback sites I read about here http://thecreativealternative.com/how-to-make-money-online/ and so I would suggest checking each of them to see which gives the best percentage back in cash. For example, I use SwagBucks and cash in for Target gift cards. I use the gift cards on Target.com but link through the ShopAtHome cashback site as they give another 5 or 6% at times and I order my Disney gift cards. I make sure to spend at least a buck over and use my redcard for free shipping. this pays for all my meals at Disneyland, and I earn cashback on it at the same time, so it's a win-win.
Enjoy your new experience with Ebates!

I love reading this board while we wait to go back to Disneyland after our first trip this summer! I was going to post in the March trips first, but money talks when I added up the 20% discount on tickets. I'm from Canada as well, just created an Ebates account, so I'll let you know when my rebate posts.

i have IGC, swag bucks, my points, and ebates that i keep up with. Honestly those places pay off ING and swag and my points paid for my layaway and my black Friday stuff this past Christmas and yes you want to shop around some times one will have 8 points per doller, another will have 4, amazon has very strict items you can buy to get cash back from swag, ing, or my points. . So just make sure to shop around for the best deals.

I've been using ebates for at least 5 years...love it!

I'm taking a gamble. We are going in April and were only planning on 3 day single park. Since the 3 day hopper with the 20% off is cheaper than the list price of 3 day one park option, I decided to go for the hopper...plus we get the fourth day free....not sure we can take advantage, but maybe.

I booked Orbitz hotel stays this week and got my 2% cash back within two days.

I just purchased our 3 day PH with 4th free day and out universal front of the line passes for our June trip, so excited!!!

Hi! I'm completely new to ebates, so this might be a stupid question. We are planning a trip to DL and Hawaii this summer. I saw that a luau that we want to attend is also listed under activities. Can I purchase my tickets to DL and the luau on the same order and get 20% on each or need to do separately?

Thanks!

Should be no problem to buy them together. There is a limit of 4 DL tickets per transaction, so if you need more than 4 you'll need a separate transaction.

p.s. I'm also mom to a ryry (Rylan);)

:confused3 How can I tell what is available for the 20% back? Are hotels near DL also 20% I can't find anything on Ebates giving me any details. Thanks for any help you can offer. :thumbsup2

20% is only available on activities, the other info is here

:yay: Thank you so much.... One other question.. regarding the hotel here is what Ebates says.. >>>6.0% Cash Back on Retail Hotel reservation

2.0% Cash Back on Prepaid Hotels, Prepaid Hotel Package, Air Package, Car Package, Activities Package<<<<

If i'm booking Embassy suites near DL is that a Retail Hotel or a Prepaid hotel? And what the heck is the difference? :rotfl:

If you're staying at Embassy Suites Anaheim South, it looks like it's a pre-paid hotel through Orbitz, meaning you have to pay the full amount at the time of booking, and you would receive 2% cash back.

I retail reservation is paid at the time of check-out, and I believe booked without discounts.
