Tuna is not big group friendly. The OP says herself that she hates tuna. Why on earth would you think it's ok to make a freakin "tuna loaf" to serve to anyone? Geesh, just donate the tuna to the food bank and make something that most people, if not all can eat.
It's not a bargain no matter how cheap if it's nothing one can use.
Also, my guess is that it's not even albacaore tuna, but that cheap dark stuffSometimes, I just do not get it.
My favorite tuna ecipe that is not a sandwich is creamed tuna on toast. You just make a basic white sauce and then put drained tuna in..it doesn't taste fishy and and put over buttered toast makes it a nice comfort food. I do this with canned chicken and thin sliced sandwich meat also.
Make tuna salad sandwiches . . . but put a little bit of apple (diced finely) into the tuna mixture. It'll make your tuna taste just like chicken salad. Strange but true.Okay Everybody
Here is your challenge. Come up with some sort of recipe that I can use 10 or 20 cans of Tuna. I hate Tuna. I will never eat Tuna. I bought Starkist Tuna for 34 cents a can today, and figure I can use it to cook at the Ronald McDonald House.
So I know you Budget Minded folks will have some great ideas. If I don't get any good ideas I will just donate the Tuna to the food pantry, or give it to a teenage trick-or-treater.
thanks in advance
I don't really want tuna loaf either, but I do like tuna casserole and tuna salad. However, even tuna loaf sounds better than being hungry. You know, that old "Beggars can't be choosers" thing. Tuna may not be your favorite, but that's just preference -- tuna's a perfectly good, healthy food. If you're hungry, you'll eat it. Anyway, if it's donated to a food bank, people can cook it into whatever suits them.Tuna is not big group friendly. The OP says herself that she hates tuna.
