Ok, as the title suggests we have received quotes for both deluxe with free DDP and moderate with free QSDP. Prices are coming out cheaper to stay 3 weeks at a mod. We do like to eat the occasional character meal and TS. We are coming for the UK as a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 22months).

Our favourite resorts from the choices are WL and POFQ. While WL is my dream resort, being able to extend the stay by a week is making the decision difficult.

What would you do?

I believe POFQ is excluded from the free dining promos. If that specific resort is the main selling point of booking a mod, you may want to reconsider!

POR is eligible, though the FD rooms sell out quickly. What are your potential travel dates?

3 weeks. While WL is beautiful- the rooms really aren't much bigger. Can you upgrade to reg dining plan if it isn't offered?

Thanks for the replies guys!! I didnt expect the decision to be this hard, lol

The free dining that comes with moderates is the regular dining plan which include 1 TB, 1quick service and 1 snack per night.

We are travelling from the UK, so our offers are slightly different here, POFQ is included in free dining and only deluxes get DDP. We dont get free dining at Values, but all other resorts get some level of dining when it is offered free.

We are planning to travel early December next year as free dining is offered to us for that period just now. Not sure we would upgrade to DDP though as it would be around $1000 and I'm not sure we'd spend that.

I would definitely choose the longer stay. More time in WDW is wonderful!

Have a great trip:goodvibes

Thank you for clearing up the difference between US and UK offers. I had no idea!

In that case, I would wholeheartedly recommend 3 weeks at POFQ!!! :)

Three weeks for sure!

I WISH I could get three weeks to spend at Disney...9 days is pretty much the max I can get off work at one time.

Have a great time!

I guess I'm in the minority on this one but I vote for 2 weeks at deluxe. Also, with your children's ages, I would consider Club Level. It makes things much more convenient. Deluxe (WL) with club level and the dining plan........ now that would be magical:)

2 weeks at a deluxe would be my choice. Sounds awesome either way, have fun planning :)

I agree :thumbsup2. We love the deluxe resorts with WL being one of our favorites (especially during the holidays). With that said, CL at the WL is amazing and would be a great addition (IMO) to the trip. Also (and this is just MY opinion), 3 weeks is a long time and for us, 14 days would probably be about our limit. I love Disney and yes, the longer you can stay the better, but staying 21 days would make for a very long trip for us. Our longest Disney trip was 11 nights and we were ready to go home by the end of it. Good luck :wizard:.

As much as I love the Deluxe resorts I would have to go with 3 weeks at the mod. Who could pass up an extra week at WDW?

I would go with three weeks at the moderate so I would have plenty of days to explore more than just WDW. BUT, I would suggest pricing to upgrade to the regular DDP - 3 weeks of quick service might get old really fast. Having the DDP would allow you to eat at the WL and all the other resorts and really have a fabulous vacation!

Unless you are dead set on POFQ or that is your only option, I would def look at POR or CSR as there is so much more to do at the resorts, they are both beautiful with good "food courts". CSR in particular will give your DP a great value especially if you stay on the QSDP.

I would choose 2 weeks at a deluxe. By then. I'd be tired of eating out and living in one room.

It is a hard decision. BUT, there is plenty to do at POFQ on those "I can't do a park today" days and you have the boat to Downtown disney which gives you lots of other options. I would price out how much you will spend on the character dining you are thinking of and then decide if it is worth upgrading to the DDP. I don't know about anyone else but I always feel like I need another week after a vacation to recover. Three weeks would give you plenty of time to relax and enjoy everything without exhausting yourselves. You are also talking about being there in December which is the most beautiful time to visit Disney. The temps are usually great (you can get a few cold evenings but not many) and the holiday decorations are up, along with lots of little celebrations that go on everywhere. So, that is the long way of my saying I would go for the three weeks.

I know there is a different culture about vacations in Europe AND you have to factor in airfare BUT

3 weeks is too long for us! (DH took 2.5 weeks off from work when I had twins lol). 3 weeks is also too long for eating counter service meals.
