Looking Forward To Your Input

Whether or not do do a split stay really depends on whether there is another resort that you would really like to stay at.

Personally -when we return in December, we had been debating on 7 nights at AKL and 7 nights at GF. We have decided against it as we know that we LOVE:goodvibes AKL and we don't want to risk regretting the change.

It's just a matter of weighing up your preferences

We are doing 7 nights AKL and 7 nights Poly to be on the monorail system (and also we want to stay there!!!). Think about it, 2 different experiences will feel like 2 different hols. Epcot resorts are lovely too.

I always do split stays. Previously it has been a villa and a deluxe hotel for a few days but now that I have DVC its 2 different resorts.

Personally I like the change of scene and the experience of a new place.
I am sure you would get so much more from staying at another deluxe resort and wouldn't regret changing.

They all have their plus points and are all beautiful.

Have fun planning - I wish someone would surprise me with 2 weeks onsite:goodvibes

I always tend to do a split stay.

I would suggest doing part of the trip at one of the monorail resorts (Poly, GF or CR) or at one of the Epcot resorts (BW, YC/BC). These are all very handy for at least one park and give you more options with transport and dining.

Hope this helps.

I think you should consider doing a split stay, a week is enough time to really enjoy a resort and so you can do that twice :) I know I'd love to stay in one of the monorail resorts if I had the chance.

AKL is pretty far out compared to the other Disney resorts so I think i'd feel a bit isolated staying there for 2 weeks, considering the deluxe rates! Don't get me wrong it's a gorgeous hotel (probably my favourite Disney resort in terms of appearance) and i'd love to stay there but I think it'd be for a week at the most so yep, another vote for the split stay :)

We always do spilt stays too, I guess it depends on if you really love the resort.

We love AKL it has such a special atmosphere about it even more so for us as it was the first on site hotel we stayed at.

That being said I don't think I could spend 2 weeks there - I don't think it's "that" far away from anything, but it is the furthest away from the action than most of the other Disney hotels.

If you are staying deluxe it is the only one that you will have to get a Disney bus to get anywhere. If you stay at a monorail resort you can either walk between the Poly & GF or to MK from the Contempory. If you stay at a Deluxe Epcot resort you can get to the Boardwalk or Epcot & if you are a walker to MGM.

With regard to the club level are you aware that the rooms are the same just with the extra priviliges. Last year I was obsessed with booking club leval and stayed at AKL club and GF SL club. Both are excellent but we tend to do our own planning and we are not hotel people when we are at Disney so don't make that much of the food offferings. So I've now had to agree with DH that we don't really need to book it even though I love being walked through the resort on arrival to check in in the club lounge, it just makes you feel special :goodvibes

We were luckey enough to stay at AKL last Jan before they started the work and they still had some deluxe concierge rooms on the 6th floor and that was great as the lounge was just along the corridor. When we went in Dec we stayed on the 5th floor over looking a savanah and it was a little bit of a trek to the lounge which meant we didn't make as much of it as we could have had it been a little closer (like on the 6th floor right outside our room :rotfl2: )

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to share our experience and I would say go for it as it's your first visit but would do a split stay.

Melissa
