Does anyone know what happens as far as park admission goes if your 2 yo turns 3 while at WDW? If they don't swipe the MB will I be charged. I'm sure this happens all the time, but I just don't know the answer.

I believe they say that the age the child starts the trip is the age for the entire trip. Your little one should be considered 2 for the whole time.

We've had this happened twice. In the past, it was the age at the beginning of your stay that WDW went by. We called to confirm the policy each time this occurred. I'd call MS just to make sure the policy hasn't changed. We have never had any hassles or problems. In fact, our experience is that WDW has been quite lenient in this area.

One time we couldn't convince the CMs that our daughter was four years old and they refused to let her use her ticket! Wow, was DD4 mad! She was so excited to use her own ticket by herself. We tried to do the right thing, but the CMs wouldn't budge. After a week of trying to use her ticket, we just gave up. I mean multiple days, at multiple parks! I guess Uncle Walt sent us some extra pixie dust that vacation. That was three or four vacations ago. I think they definitely received all the money back in spades! And probably much more!

I haven't done it....but I know many who haven't bought tickets for their 3 year olds. CMs are usually pretty lenient (in my experience) with the little ones. I know I've question the ages of some kids going in in strollers without tickets....but the CMs never have.

If you are booking a room package (non DVC)and enter the correct birth date of your child, they will make you buy a kids ticket.

I'm sorry that last part is not true. Kids don't age at Disney. So if they are 2 at the beginning of the trip they are good for the whole trip without a ticket (same for 9 turning 10, no need for an adult ticket for the second part).

I can back this up, too. We've had a few kids turn 10 and the child ticket was still honored. FWIW, we have also had non-expiring, partially used child park tickets upgraded to adult park tickets for no additional charge.

I didn't mean if your kid was 2 to start the trip. I meant people trying to sneak a 3 year old without a ticket. IF they book a room package, they will make them buy a park ticket for a 3 year old. If your kid is 2 at the start, then no they won't. My fault....I went off topic from the OP

Yes that I have heard. We are considering a trip in early June for Star wars weekend. I am thinking about getting 10 day non expiration park hopper/water fun & more tickets. My daughter is 9 and turns 10 in September. IF I got them for the June trip and used 2 of the days while she's 9, she could upgrade them the next trip after she turns 10. I think on Undercover tourist it's about a $15 difference from the kid to adult ticket of that kind.

Yep as long as they are 2 when the trip starts then they count as 2 the entire trip. We plan trips to start before our kids turn 3! (In October 2016 we're arriving the day before DD2 turns 3!)
