Hi! Starting to plan our itinerary for our August trip and started wondering if you thought this was too much food in one day. We usually only plan one ps (big meal) a day, but on one of the days , we were thinking of going to MGM and having lunch at Sci Fi (probably will have their hamburgers) and then going to MK assuming they have EMH that evening. I thought since we would be in MK, it might be good to have our meal at Ohanas that night, just jumping on the monorail. Do you think that is too much "meat" for one day? Do others do two sit down meals, lunch and dinner in one day?

I would love to hear your opinions on this? I just want to make sure we will be hungry enough for Ohanas to get our monies worth, I guess. THANKS!! :sunny:

Depends on everyone's appetites, I guess.

My DF and I just did 50's Primetime at 11 am and then Mama Melrose at 6:40 and we were fine appetite wise (though I especially am a big eater, and she didn't finish her lunch). We ended up having to get a hamburger for her later on in the night because she absolutely hated her dinner, she got through ab out 3 forkfulls of it before giving up, and didn't have the heart to tell the waitress it sucked...

But if you can afford it, no reason to not enjoy 2 sit down meals. It definately beats fighting people at the fixin's bar like we had to do at all of the counter service places.

We went in August last year and it was so HOT we didn't really eat all that much. On our MGM day, we did 50's PT for lunch, then we had H&V booked for the Fantasmic package. (I did that because there were 16 of us and I didn't want to risk not getting in). We were still so full from lunch that nobody really wanted dinner, but to get the package we did it anyway. I would say eat a very early lunch, say 11 am or so, and then a later dinner and you should be o.k. otherwise, with the heat and everything, it's a little much. Hope that helps~

We ate on the MYW Dining Plan (Appetizer, Entree & Dessert) at the Sci-Fi for lunch at the earliest seating, 11:30 a.m., and had a Fantasmic Package at Hollywood & Vine, 4:30 p.m., the latest seating they had available.

Not only were we uncomfortably stuffed, but the new family joke is "...yes, you have to eat your appetizer and dessert, it's paid for!"

We did Sci Fi lunch at 12 and then Cape May that evening. The burgers are nice sized but not too big, if you spread your times out enough you'll probably be okay. Plus, who knows how long you'll have to wait at Ohaa even with a PS.

We rarely do 2 sit down meals a day, but when we do, we do breakfast and dinner, with just a snack(or drinks by the pool) for lunch.
However if you are planning on sticking with just burgers at Sci Fi, I would think if you had an early lunch, say 11:30, then had a not too early dinner, like 7:00 or 8:00 at Ohana, that wouldnt be too bad.

I think it is too much. I always find that in the heat of the summer, it is hard to eat heavy meals. The heat really impacts my appetite.

Two sit down meals will also take a lot of time out of each day.

I'd do one sit down and a light counter service meal (possibly even shared) so you will be hungry enough to really enjoy the sit down meal.

I think if you did an earlier lunch at Sci-Fi with the burgers and then a later dinner at Ohana you should be fine. Just don't overdo it for lunch. :) The burgers at Sci-Fi aren't huge so I don't think it would be a problem.

Thanks so much for all your quick responses. I think we will try for an early lunch and do a 7 or later dinner. It just works out better with our "plans" to try to get them both in on the same day since I really want to try both on this trip. Thanks again! :sunny:
