2 single pass tickets = 1 park hopper ticket?

Universal currently has a promotion going on where if you buy a 2-day ticket you get a 3rd day free. However, my wife and I are going to Universal for 2 days. Can we use the extra ticket in lieu of a park hopper pass?

That is to say, if we use 1 ticket on IOA on day one, can we use the 2nd ticket on IOA on day two and the 3rd ticket at Studios still on day 2?

I don't think you can do that, you'd need to buy the actual park-to-park ticket.

The 2-Day Base with 3rd Day Free Ticket entitles one (1) guest admission to one (1) UOR theme park per day. Ticket is valid for any three (3) calendar days during a fourteen (14) consecutive calendar day period which includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used.

since the tickets will be a pass, all be the same number/coding, i don't know how you can use the 3rd day ticket on the same day you used the 2nd day ticket.

same way with disney tickets.
unless you have a hopper, can't use another single day on the pass on the same day for another one of their parks.
